People like to diss the KABAR as a batoning tool but I've never had a problem splitting wood with it. I think it's a good compromise between size and versatility.

Video's over a year old so you may have already discovered that the MOLLE canteen cover works better with the upper flap stowed behind the canteen and just use the Y strap to hold it in. Those covers also make GREAT storage pouches. I have one set up with a rolled up ponco, stakes, and cordage for a shelter.

That USMC Ka Bar is the all time classic !  I love the balance and feel of that blade . Fast and easy to handle for a 7inch blade.

Man,great video,great gear.But I (and lot of bushcrafters) don't recomend that sharpener.He ''skinning'' material from knife..Stones are better option!

Take the finger guards off the Kabar and you have a better utility knife. Unless you get into a lot of knife fights.

@chrissept21 Well the knife wasn't designed for bushcraft, but for it serves it's purpose well as a utility, fighting, and multi use knife. Sorry to hear it disappointed you.

@TheRedHawk123 oh i no, its a very strong knife dont get me wong, but much better for survival then bush craft, and actually id rather my GB axe and a very small knife like a Karesuando Bore for the best results

USMC Ka Bar is a great choice, I carried one when I was in the Marines on both of my deployments. Now its my camp/pack knife.

Great gear you got there Harrison! I love that Kabar too. I got a similar one but with serrations on the blade. But now I regreat I got that one and not the traditional one as you got there! Excellent choice! Congratulations!!

Nice! I really like the looks of that canteen cover, looks like it could be useful for more than just holding a canteen. I just bought a Ka bar USMC myself and it is an awesome knife! Can't wait to see you put it to use.

I really like that canteen pouch, that would make a nice little survival kit. Good deal on the heavy duty belt and knife. I'd like to see the bivy in use and see what you can do with that canteen pouch.

Yeah, for the esbit cubes, you dont really need the metal platform. Just put a couple of rocks close together, put your pot on top, and then put the cubes in the middle of the rocks, it works just the same. Or you could could even set up a little stick platform.

Kabar USMC knives are great. I just picked up the same knife, but in the "shortie version". I think it is a great knife. Thanks for posting your stuff. REI has great stuff.

great video! those fuel things are really cool, have you seen the little alcohol stoves? they weigh almost nothing and they are well worth the money, around $30, if you ever think about getting one I have two reviews on them on my channel, again, great gear!

Nice gear you have there. I especially like the canteen pouch, could be quite useful. And the leather sheath of your knife looks amazing, I could use this myself. I have a really good hunting knife but just in a cheap plastic sheath. It ll do the job but your sure looks so much better. And real leather is a Quality product. Nice!
