Finally got out and shot my new RRA AR15 "Elite Operator 2" and I must say 10 out of 10! The trigger is amazing!!! Along with a number of other things, I think I may do my first review/ informational video on this.
Welcome back TacticalDoodle. It is good to see you back and back in the R&G's. Nutn, I cannot wait to see the gun reviews you have coming up. Great vid.
RRA tactical AR15 carbines aren't mil spec builds. They're commercial spec builds. I think Spike's Tactical currently offers the best value on tactical AR15 carbines. With Spike's you actually get a tested mil spec build for a price that costs less than one these "high end" RRA AR15. Spike's offers better upgrades like a cold hammer forged barrel, a nickel boron M16 bolt carrier group, & a nickel boron trigger group w/ anti-rotation trigger pins.
Hey Nutn it would be awsome if you made a video on nothing but enhancements or add ond to AR-15s that you recommend. Maby something like the brands or models of triggers, stocks, sight mounts, ect.
I know that you mention things in almost every vid, but having them all together in one place would certainly be useful.
Nutnfancy, for the films where the target locations are known and fixed, have you thought of / tried to put a second camera facing the targets so we can see them when they get hit? Or maybe a more-zoomed-in image? It will take more setting-up, but I think it's worth experimenting with.
doodle is a tyrant i mean 170 yards...hitting every 1 second! i also recall that he was hitting evil roy steel 10inch plates at 110 or so yards with a ruger 22/45 way back when the project began. i also have a pleasant memory of you two molesting a stove at 100 yards with a glock 17. you crack heads are good lol
That was some great shooting with the Buckmark. Nice work. Fun little course you set up there. Looked like the same range as the Mosin Nagant Snow shoot with Crocket - sans snow, of course.
I saw this new .22 round in a gun mag that is 40 grains at 2,000fps OUT OF A REGULAR PISTOL! Cant remember name but i would love for Nutnfancy to review it!!
I can't wait till my boys are old enough to share experiences like this with them. Thanks for setting a good example for the rest of us Dads here in the tnp. You sir are a great man.
Me personaly , i think the 3x is to powerful for cbc . Try dear hunting , and finding your dear with a 3x power scope at 30 yards in heavy woods , But that is just my opinion . That rock river is one heavy tank. I would think Nutn would be going bonkers over its weight.
The greatest thing you should be thankful for tactical doodle is having the time to spend with your dad as awesome is he is. I wish my dad was still around.
I have the RRA Advanced Half Quad on my RRA AR-15 and I noticed it gets almost to hot to touch as well. Love the gun though. I am very happy with it and would buy another.
Oh yeah another thing, I had impact order in a RRA Elite operator II and Entry Operator II , I like the fact the “Elite” has a mid-length gas system even though it adds some weight. As far as SAWC goes do you find it to be too heavy over other ARs or do you feel it would be good? They have such a good deal on these and the 2-stage trigger is awesome. Is there any other AR’s for around the same price that would be worth looking into? Thanks nutn! Happy holidays TNP crew and all you other TNPRS!!
what did you think of the M&P15, I'm really liking their MOE version in flat dark earth. but, going off some of your previous vids and shooting a RRA entry tactical before I think im leaning towards picking one of those up. first AR purchase want to make sure its a good one.
Thanks for the vids, keep them coming never knew i needing so many things before I sub'd to your videos.
I own the same rifle and l love it. But I did have some extraction problems with wolf ammo. That two stage match trigger is a dream. Just ordered the same RRA lower kit for a build I am doing. Great videos. Keep them coming.
@nutnfancy so that's not a good cqb optic? less than 15 yards is the inside of most buildings other than longer hallways or large building entries excluded.
I wish I could shoot with my dad like this. He's disabled now. The last time I remember shooting with him was New Year's Day 2000; we accidentally set a field on fire with old tracer ammo and had to call the Fire dept., lol. Damn, that was almost twelve years ago.
Great pre thanksgiving day run, Nut & TD. Love the quality family time. Hope you guys stuffed your faces today like a couple of honey badgers... I did!
Dude!!! All this talk about the trigger... which one are you guys using? Single or two stage? RRA? Geissele? Timney? Now that I think about it.. a quick AR trigger review would be cool ;)
Love that doodle's back!!!!! Looking trim now days to brother!!! I just got the RRA Operator last month from Buds in Lex ky. Paid $930 out the door for it. I dare to say I like it more than my custom build AR and my Ruger 556.
@ryan33111 Thanks man. I dig that RRA too. If I could find a buyer for that Ruger, I'd think about trading it all in for the Operator. That foreend is pretty heavy, but no heavier than the Ruger. For $930 I'd say you got a pretty good deal.
@TacticalDoodle Hey man, it's cool to see you back in the project. I hope you show up in more vids, I enjoy watching someone my age for once! As for facebook, I totally agree.
after months and months of research i decided that those guns, from the "tactical rifle super sale" section of the RRA website were the best bang for the buck in that price range(arsenal AK aside....) i ended up buying the 'tactical operator 2', which as much as i can tell, is the exact same gun as the 'elite' here, except for the length of gas-tube. appears that the elite is longer than the tac-op2... real-life difference being? any insight?
@TacticalDoodle Good to hear, just subbed your channel. Have fun shooting with your old man. You need to bring some of your buds into it, its starting to look like the PGA Senior tour only with guns!!! LOL
