i remember the 20th anniversary i was 8 yrs old at the time and i was bowling in jr lgs every saturday morning going home and tuning in just rto see if earl was on the show but the music for this intro which went from 1981-88 was in my mind the best
whenever I hear a sports caster refer to an NFL all-star as a "pro bowler" .. I so, noooooo sir .. Earl Anthony was a pro bowler.. Dick Weber was a pro bowler.. you get th idea !!!
I totally remember this opening and still hum that song TO THIS DAY, and I was only about 5-8 years old when it ran. Yes, I love bowling, and yes, I know, I was a weird kid..would rather watch bowling than most cartoons on any given Saturday!
This music or the one from the 1980 opening sequence is coming back this fall on the new western new england candlepin association pro tour televised events here on you tube. We still haven't decided which opening and closing music to use but wanted it to be retro so we are down to two choices. Both copyrights are well over so both musics are available. You weren't the only weird kid back then.
where can i find this theme song at? im a disc jockey on a internet 80s radio station and i will have a segment on remembering the professional bowlers tour from the 80s so this would make a great music bed
I wish that I knew where you could find a version of this music minus the late great Chris Shenkels voice over but if I or any of the shows production crew find it I'll let you know.
@Pdasilva0324 I loved this theme too. I was and still am a bowling fan. Until high school, Bowling was my favorite sport to watch on TV. ABC needs to bring back the Pro Bowlers Tour. In the "80s, this was it.
