  • @blackbandos its usually referred to as a tricep dip, the main muscle its working is the tricep, but its also a compound exercise so that means it'll bring in muscles other than the tricep (liek the chest, shoulders)

  • does this exercise also help other muscles too?

  • Do you think it's better to do dips with weights or no weights with more reps?

    Also, how many sets/reps do you usually do?

  • @HowAboutSomeTruth1 "Better" is a relative term. It depends on what you are after. My goals for my training change constantly.

  • yes if you need maximal strenght / power and big Muscles and high weight make dips with weight.

    If you want a bit power, speed, power endurence make more reps and dont use weights

  • I have a issue with this this belt, it falls down when I use it, any suggestions?

  • @pocker85 Do some squats.... OR loop the chain straight through, then back across then back THEN loop the weight on, so it actually fits like a belt. But watch your junk if it gets swinging.

  • Cool. Check out the 'chest and arm workout with rings' video above as well. I have the rings set up on the other side of my basement. Using the dipping belt on the rings is a pretty fun way to do dips as well! :-)

  • hey man howsit.just wondering if you can help me out,im 18years old ,stand at 1.91cm and weigh in at 86kg,i do some weights yet i cant seem to get higher than 86kg on the scale,frustrating! i want and strive to get similiar results to brad pitt off fight club ya know,thats a mean body,or sonny bill williams(look on google)i say similiar because i realise im not them.theyre motivation.

    i see you get alot of these questions so if you can help me that would be choice.

  • Your to young bro..you will hurt your body in a big way..start light and do running in your school it will all come together

  • if you start too early with weights you will injure yourself. your joints and bones are still growing. i think its O.K to do bodyweight exersizes(pushups pullups dead-lifts..)

  • then you plateu. adding weights helps reach muscle overload which is the best way to build muscle. check it out, youll like the results

  • isn't there a risk that the belt might slip down as you are doing the exercise? i like dips more than bench press for chest but never tried it weighted. i'm skeptical about getting a belt.

  • you might want to do both... they work different parts of your pecs

  • Yup - Get into the pushup position and hold the barbell like a dumbbell in one hand and on that side roll the bar out like a fly and on the other side do a push like a regular pushup. Alternate sides.

  • 15 is a fine age to start weight lifting. My friend starting weight lifting when he was 12 and he's now 6'5. No effect. You probably just hit puberty late, or are genetically short.

  • yes you can. lifting weights doesnt stunt ur growth it actually help because your just going through puberty. i lifted weight wen i was just 12 and im 13 now and trust me you get alot of advantage. right now i bench 170 and my friends just bench 120.

  • i started at 12-13, im 16 now put on about 40-50 lbs of muscle. very good idea to start young

  • Its defiantly not a good idea to stat young. Lifting weights when the body is still in a developing stage and stunt your growth and damage your joints

  • Yes, but NOW you MUST do special exercises fo the Enlargement of Bone Structure, untill it's too late! You must do super-wide-grip chin ups, wide grip bench presses, and breathing pullovers. DO NOT even TRY to prefer the exercises for gaining muscle mass! You will NOT success (in YOUR earl age), and you'll LOOSE a precious TIMe, which you can spend for BONE increasing.

  • Nice! Dips/pushups are my fav excercise probably... Seems sturdy enough... i use 2 chairs for dipping.
