Michel was a world loved musician ! I read comments here in English, Espanol, francais etc . . RIP Michel, you made your mark . God Bless you my friend !
That's a beautiful tribute to the great Michel Petrucciani. Seems he was born to play the piano, and it is a great loss that he wasn't blessed with a longer life. I sometimes wonder if anyone coaxed a soul out of the piano as he did. And, what a real man of jazz! Thanks for sharing this.
Littlebigman, was a movie with Dustin Hoffman, for me, Littlebigman in real life is Michel Petrucciani, thanks for posting, i will remember this rest of my life
He was a profound gift to us all....and we sould pass the blessing of his gifts to us transformed in our hearts ...souls and instruments that we possess to the rest of the world and keep his flame and spirit of crfeativity alive as the tribute he was and is to the creative world everyday....do not stop...ever...he never did bc

'Lullaby', is a gem of a song. I'd love to see some footage of him, or someone, playing it. 'Looking Up' is top of the town, too. Life never ceases to amaze. RIP Michel P.
Please, can someone indicate me the title(degree) of the topic or song to the beginning of the video and to the album to which it(he,she) belongs(concerns)?
The song in the scene with the helicopter is called "Looking Up". One of my favorites of his. His solo on that tune is a 150 second Master Class in jazz improv, IMO.
I don't think Petrucciani was homosexual. He had a wife and a son as well. Anyway, do you now the title of the track he's playing in the really last scene? When the helicopter is moving around him.
From the 2008 Dreyfus Records DVD, "Non-Stop Travels / Trio Live In Stuttgart". The documentary portion (Non-Stop Travels) was filmed in Paris, New York and California and wonderfully directed by Roger Willemsen. Petrucciani plays the final tune, "Looking Up," on top of a skyscraper. As he plays, the camera takes in aerial shots of the pre-9/11 New York City skyline. If you love Manhattan as much as I do, you can't help but be moved by this masterpiece........
This is the nicest tribute to a musician and the city of New York that I've ever seen. It's the city at it's finest, and the man at his best. Very nice piece of videography!
THANK YOU!
What an amazing pianist you were Michel. "Looking Up" will always be my all time favorite of all your compositions. It always reminds me of how you spent your whole life looking up. I miss you and N.Y. misses you. - Lou
