With respect, people do not "choose" to be gay. Sexuality isn't nurtured or chosen. I don't think Sophie would like a comment like that in her name/memory. The death of anyone for bigoted reasons, Goth, ethnic minority, gay, straight... is worth no more or no less than anyone else, and it pays to remember that bigotry starts out with beliefs like "people choose to be gay", even if you never meant it to sound bad.

Wether it's emotionally scarring or if it's as drastic as with her. I'm always picked on for being different but I've gotten to the point where I don't care. I love being me. I have never heard of this till now! I started off listening to vnv nation then one thing lead to another and I found this.
I am so sorry for her loss, cant even imagine how her family and her boyfriend feel. The boys that assaulted them were just scarred little boys. Hate comes from fear, and from that comes insecurity and then with all that together you get some miserable sick people that want to destroy and bring down anything beautiful around them.
