  • If people here doesn't know, I should assert that Yanagi Ryuken, that shitty 'kiai master' who got his sorry arse handed by an MMA student back in 2006 was a certified Daito-ryu instructor. It's all the same mumbo-jumbo.

  • @EunusRex honestly most the Aikido Daito guys are wizards and not true warriors.

I think MMA and BJJ has done alot for Jjutsu Aikijutsu and getting ppl aware of them.

Most people aren't real martail artist and the ones who are....will find the correct path.

  • This is from Taoist sources.

  • Can't we get this translated?

  • Some people who will never understand aiki is these MMA jabronni's. They think thier shit dont stink and they talk all kind of bull crap about Ki and traditional arts whne they have no f'n clue what they are talking about. There is a serious lack of discipline and respect from these ham and egger wrestler who go through the martial arts like its some kind of damend buffet. REAL MMA has been around for centuries. the Samurai were REAL mixed Martial Artists. The battlefield was thier octagobn.

  • @naumutroi you are right i did dimak on one MMA figheter one time that came in to my school lol he never knew what hit him it was one soft tap and boom he went down he was baffled at such an art ....

  • @aikizendoryu yea, it is not magic but science. the MMA guys think that because they can kick and punch and tap people out that they are the shit but they only got a partial art and few if any evolve further into the internal arts. in singapore where they have bare-knuckle MMA for centures before th UFC, and the west knew what MMA was they had MA tournaments. One of its most feared champions was a master of neijia (internal school of martial arts).

  • @aikizendoryu MMA guts think to be well rounded you need to know western boxing, muay thai and BJJ..no no no. To be a well rounded martial artist and not a partial artist you must master the way of the closed fist (wei-jia) and the way of the open palm (nei-jia). that is why the martial arts have always used the symbols of the Tiger (wei-jia) and the Dragon (nei-jia). the game is more than just ranges, more than just stand-up, clinch and ground. it is also about internal and external.

  • this concept is not only for aikido but can also be applied to external arts as well to emphasize internal power to fuel external technique such as when Shiahn Seagal taught MMA fighter Anderson Silva how to use the principles of Aiki to a front snap kick and the results was a knockout. Aiki development should never be de-emphasized.

  • this is very informative. Aikijujutsu is not unlike tajiquan hsing or pa qua. It is far more of internal art than judo or jujitsu.

  • @naumutroi Agreed. I love learning about this internal aspect of Japanese arts. In our Aikido style (Tomiki) it is often de-emphasised. Nice to see here.

  • Shomen is used to strike soft areas like the side of the neck; kainda like the concept of hard vs. soft, & soft vs. hard; canceling out the hardness of the chest with a "soft" palm strike. This concept is also seen in canceling a linear attack with circular motion.

  • I have one question.

I can not understand the shomen uchi (striking with the edge of the hand). Wouldn't that break the hand, with the fingers like that?

  • @HomunculusProject the way i was taught how to do it may be different in other dojo or ryu but how i was trained it is not the fingers but the muscke just below the fingers on the knife edge of the hand and the fingers are clenched gently together and slightly bent the hand looking it was cupping water if it was not sideways.

  • i enjoy learn learning it doesn't matter if dont understand the language. Again thank you very much for the drills. cant get back to school to practice this. more power and long live aiki.

  • nice video.I REALLY would like to check it with subtitltes...

  • Technically, you can learn this in one day. We can show you how. It is up to the person to practice and get stronger. Search for HAPKIYOOSOOL on the internet.
