You can make an argument that Lebron is just a in-game dunker. I can't doubt his dunks are just plain awesome, but there are so many whom I have that opinion of and are huge disappointment in the dunk contest. You can't prove Lebron being able to put on a show on a dunk contest but it's easy to argue that he probably can't. I mean why else has he decided to back out all these times? Has it been 3-4 times? We wont know till he shows. Which seems like he wont.
This guy is a clown and a fraud! Josh Smith intimidates Howard's big behind every time they play. I think that Josh Smith should be in the contest and just follow Howard's lead. He should wear some jeans with boxers coming way over the top and do everything that Howard does only better.
Let Howard act the fool again and have a casual Josh Smith smoke him.
@superchef78 ok, let me rephrase. Anyone who THINKS he could dunk 13ft doesn't understand the laws of physics. Happy? I'm not sure why you would say it if you didn't believe it.
@nateakeiper But I understand the laws of physics and I personally think he could do that. So would you say that someone who doesn't think he can dunk on a 13ft goal (out of pure and genuinely sound see: non-discriminatory opinion) inherently/automatically understands the laws of physics?
@superchef78 Ok this may be a letdown for you, but Dwight Howard isn't actually Superman. He has about a 9'3'' standing reach. I'll be generous and give him a 42'' vertical. Doing some quick math you'd realize that Howard would be about 3 inches short of even being able to touch the rim at 13ft. let alone dunk the ball. It's he would have to have around a 50'' vertical (which he doesn't) to even dream about dunking 13ft. It's physically impossible for a man of his size to jump that high.
@nateakeiper It isn't a letdown because it is merely an assertion perpetuated by opinions through based on certain statistical modes of evaluation and considerations.
@superchef78 I'm sorry you feel my comment was "asinine," however, saying that someone who thinks that a 6'11'' 270lb man with a 40'' vertical dunking on a 13ft goal doesn't understand the laws of physics is a perfectly acceptable statement, because it is physically impossible. Therefore, saying that someone who thinks Dwight Howard could do something that defies the laws of physics would mean that that person does not fully understand the laws of physics.
@superchef78 Now, remember, I'm merely mocking you and your comments trying to prove me wrong on a comment that was not intended to be taken seriously; however it is somewhat true.
@nateakeiper You are not mocking me in any way (though this is perhaps how you intend it to be). Now, it appears you're trying to maintain some unassailable image. Prior to this, you weren't mocking me at all. You were seriously trying to argue a certain premise/point, I suppose. The remark about understanding physics laws still isn't true though.
@superchef78 Well, I considered my Superman comment mocking you. And my last comment was mocking as well. To me, you are the one trying to maintain some sort of image with your persistence in using a totally unnecessary vocabulary of ridiculously big words (see your second and third comments, honestly you lost me there). I just think it is beyond ridiculous to claim that Dwight Howard could dunk on a 13ft goal; as it's not possible.
Also, I am the only one in this argument backing up my claims as to why it is not possible; you have not. If you have a theory, maybe one that involves Dwight having a pair of wings that people aren't aware of, i'd love to hear it.
@nateakeiper "Also, I am the only one in this argument backing up my claims as to why it is not possible; you have not." -- This is because I don't have to back up my claims as to why it is NOT possible, because I'm not arguing for that.
I'm arguing against that glib remark you made (the one assuming a co-relation with one's comprehension about the laws of physics and their subjectivity involved in making a solid evaluation of one's competence for slamming a basketball through a 12 foot hoop).
@superchef78 "(out of pure and genuinely sound see: non-discriminatory opinion) inherently/automatically understands the laws of physics." I understand what you are saying, but it was a completely unnecessary use of words. That's all I'm saying. You could've gotten your point across by using much better and smaller words, without trying to make yourself sound intelligent, which I think is why you made those word choices.
@superchef78 Also, still have yet to hear from you an answer to this: How is it possible that a person who thinks Dwight Howard can do something that is physically impossible, fully understands the laws of physics?
@nateakeiper I implore you to merely undergo a thought experiment wherein you just think of that which you have just stated. It is very easy to conceptualize. Someone could understand the laws of physics, but still think that (as unreasonable as it may sound to a number of people). So it is possible. Also, merely because one fully understands the laws of physics doesn't necessarily mean that they think that Mr. Howard could dunk on a 12 foot goal. Neither of them are related.
@superchef78 No, you're wrong. A person who understands the laws of physics would never think that someone could do something that defies them. If they did think that, then they wouldn't understand them. They are related in that sense. And to be clear, we are talking about him dunking on a 13 ft goal not 12. It's not that it is "unreasonable" as you state; its impossible, which is why my original statement is valid. If it were only unreasonable you would be correct, but it's impossible.
@nateakeiper But you still don't know if he can or not. Sure, you've ventured some ill-gotten statistics/data, but not really any of it proves conclusively that he CANNOT do what you have specified here though. We'll never know unless we see him try (and fail; if he does try, that is). But it's also easy to conceptualize/think of though, regardless of any physics laws.
@superchef78 Explain "ill-gotten." Is there a statistic that I provided that you do not agree with? You can mathematically conclude something, which is what I did. Not to mention anyone with half a brain (or an understanding of basic physics, as I originally stated) would know that a man of this stature is not going to be able to dunk on a 13ft goal based on this video alone. It's clear we are not going to agree, so this will be my last reply. It was good conversing with you.
@nateakeiper It should be superficially evident. None of my argument really dealt with Dwight Howard's actual competence for dunking on a 13ft goal. The crux of the matter is that I was going against the asinine assumption that "anyone who thinks X, doesn't understand Y" (just substitute the variables for the conditions respectively).
@mattS5295 I don't even know if you're just being sarcastic, or you're just plain out retarded. Blake Griffin had 40 points in the ticker from a high school game in OK. Nothing more to say on a DWIGHT HOWARD dunk video
@dansvidco Why would they show high school scores on the fuckin ticker. Blake Griffin played for the Univesity of Oklahoma look it up you fuckin retard.
@mattS5295 You must be 13, because you're cursing out something so stupid. So, let me comply;
What the fuck do you think I just fucking said THREE GOD DAMN TIMES? That he played for fucking Oklahoma, theres no fucking Oklahoma team in the NBA (Thunder are Oklahoma CITY), so obviously it's him in fucking highschool you dumbass hypocrite. You just made a complete 360 in this argument. Get a life dumbass
@dansvidco Do you understand what NCAAM means? That means college basketball. So when NCAAM comes across the ticker, I'm pretty sure they are showing college scores. Blake Griffin went to the University of Oklahoma how hard is it for you to grasp that? Oklahoma vs Texas Tech. That is a college score OBVIOUSLY. And I'm pretty sure that you just cursed me out after calling me a 13 year old for cursing you out? What does that make you? 12?
@dansvidco IDK what that means. But do you SERIOUSLY think that it is a high school score? If you just trying to piss me off it's working. Just answer yes or no to this question... Do you understand that blake Griffin went to College at the University of Oklahoma? yes or no
@dansvidco University of Oklahoma is a collage school, not high school, not NBA, Matt the whole time was saying that Blake scored 40 for his COLLAGE team. Not high school, not NBA, University of Oklahoma.
NCAAM: Men's National Collegiate Athletic Association
Your funny.. if LeBron was in it he'd put on a show, not like the gay dunk contest that passed. LeBron is one of the best dunkers in the game, you keep hating and he'll keep getting paid.
@dantrantheflyingman you wrong if someone was 6 feet tall with a 48in veritical they not only could dunk but destroy the rim have you ever heard of arms lol
people have arms you not counting that! it adds at least another 1feet
@amahovac yeah true, so dwight dunking a 13 foot ring is like someone 3"11 with a 4"5 wingspan and a reach about 6"00 dunking a 10 foot ring? So that's a 48" vertical leep, so howard has a 48" vertical leep aswell?
JalenTV do you play basketball? you gotta check out - 50inch vertical[dot]com. I highly recommend it! I m 5 9 and started dunking quickly after 5 weeks of the training!
This was not a 12 foot dunk. The rim of the alleged 12 foot rim measures halfway up the backboard of the 10 foot rim. The backboard on all NBA 10 foot rims measure 13ft. at the top. So that means Dwight Howard's dunk was 11ft 6in. NOT 12 FEET! Check at 0:28 if you want proof. Also take into account that Dwight Howard has a standing reach of 9ft. 4in.
dwight jumped up and touched the rim with ease before he dunked like it was nothing to him plus people wanted to see if he could go higher then the normal basketball goal size
yea i get it was on a 12 foot rim but it was kinda anticlimatic he did it too easily it wasnt exciting and it wasnt even a good pass he could have added some flare to it, but definatley not a winmill
your calling me an idiot? I have an argument all you have is the nerve to call smeone an idiot without even knowing them. Dwight can touch a 10ft rim on his tip toes so he has to jump about 30-32inches to dunk on a 12ft rim easily, we all know he can jump that high and then some he didnt push himself he did it too easily with no flare it didnt deserve the score it got.
dwight can't touch the rim on his tip toes. there is a video called "makings of a superman" or something like that where he is hanging on the rim, and even with the rim bent he is still a good 6 inches off the ground.
i never said that ive seen the clip and if he was a 400lb Mc Donalds man he would still be able to dunk. I just think he needs to do a bit more because of his height and ridiculous wingspan
@DTDB1225 13 is the top of the backboard...like only 1 or 2 people in the world can touch that...dwight cant even do that so how the fuck is he or anybody else gonna dunk on a 13...
1) his time should have started right when he started bringing out the rim and changing to his cape
2)This is not 12 feet. when they show it next to the regulation hoop, its like a foot higher maybe 11' 4
3)How does this show a dunking skill? this shows that he is the tallest player in the comp... J.R. and Rudy fernandez had the 2 best dunks (Smith's 1st dunk and Fernandez's 2nd dunk) and they were not in the final!
2) Bigger is always better more standing reach he should have won it!!
3.)Bigger is muscles are stronger muscles.
Look at Ac Barch.
4.) Lebron can't do this dunk and anybody in the league that could get this high exept for TFB because I know they're doing far more way top secret and they all used steroids.
i dunno it might be 12 but it looks lik 11 11 and a half maybe they were jus guessing the height. he coulda done 13 easily prob he did a boring lazy dunk on this one i wonder how cool a 13 woulda been(prob looked lik a reg, person dunking lol)
well i dunked at 15-18(yrs old) and am 21(6'0) now and havent been able to dunk since i stopped going to gym(3 yrs ago). i just got acl surgery so it will be nother 6 mnths till i get to play again. so i agree about the strength but look at dwight im not even that much a fan of his i didnt listen to jalen then and never will hes almost as bad as miller is at commentating but i do believe he can nail a 12 foot basket easy this dunk was lame n he barely tried. ps. im not trying to argue.
man i was just trying to show that you made a good point, dumbass. you ruin the 1 smart thing you say with four supid ass sentences.I mean what does "It didnt took me time to a weak as dunk" even mean? STFU and get hooked on phonics buckwheat! Plus, i dont know what you mean by watch the TFB. You need to shut up and watch that dick in your mouth.
okay... but hes got a foot and a half on nate and its not like nate did basic dunks! i mean its not even comparable if you think about it ratio-wise 7:11 is easier than 5:10 beacause the foot and a half advantage hes got not only translates to height but arm length as well so it is def. easier for howard.
Today's dunk contest is bias and everyone knows it. almost all of dwights dunks were 50 and rudy getting a low score for taking long is stupid. They should change the rules then!!! like if u take long u lose points so dumb.
that dunk sucked. what happened to the good ole days where the dunk contest was about who had the best dunk instead of who could use props effectively or who could jump the highest? It's impressive that a person can jump high, but it damn sure isn't worth a 50.
yeah but they're talking about dunking, not typing. we don't do everything with our fingertips. BoxingJ's point is that just because you can get your hand up 12'6" doesn't mean you can dunk on a rim of that height.
Oh, I never thought that he could dunk at 12'6. I just meant that it would be hard to hold a sticker in your palm and that if you can reach 12'6...you can probably dunk at 12'. I'm not sure that is true, but I think it would be.
isn't the top of the backboard square 11 ft? because that's how high the rim is

hang on so if he's 6"11 and he dunks a 12 foot ring that means that is just like someone who is 4"11 dunkin a 10 foot ring right?
DanielDrag15 1 year ago
@DanielDrag15 ye maybe but dwight howard can easily dunk on 13 ft so......

@DanielDrag15 hes arms are 7'5 wingspan and standing reach is well above 9 feet...
amahovac 1 year ago
@amahovac yeah true, so dwight dunking a 13 foot ring is like someone 3"11 with a 4"5 wingspan and a reach about 6"00 dunking a 10 foot ring? So that's a 48" vertical leep, so howard has a 48" vertical leep aswell?
DanielDrag15 1 year ago
Just shut up it's like these comments are a totally different world plus lebron could whoop his balls whenever wherever
jackcluff 1 year ago
JalenTV do you play basketball? you gotta check out - 50inch vertical[dot]com. I highly recommend it! I m 5 9 and started dunking quickly after 5 weeks of the training!

He's so creative

This was not a 12 foot dunk. The rim of the alleged 12 foot rim measures halfway up the backboard of the 10 foot rim. The backboard on all NBA 10 foot rims measure 13ft. at the top. So that means Dwight Howard's dunk was 11ft 6in. NOT 12 FEET! Check at 0:28 if you want proof. Also take into account that Dwight Howard has a standing reach of 9ft. 4in.

wasnt very impressive. we know he can get up! he shuda pushed the limit!!!
thegame0484 1 year ago
dwight jumped up and touched the rim with ease before he dunked like it was nothing to him plus people wanted to see if he could go higher then the normal basketball goal size
antmitch17 1 year ago
That dunk is nuts
TheBostonThreeParty1 2 years ago
Not even the forklift could put the rim up to 12 feet, so Dwight just had to settle with what they had.
StraightDooDoo 2 years ago
that is 11 feet not 12
ryan758 2 years ago
I do recall Lebron saying he could do 13 ft after Dwight did this. I hope he doesn't think the world forgot.
DegenerationXkid101 2 years ago 101
Haha, the other day I remembered this, thinking he owes us 13 feet this year.
Shintalka 2 years ago
@DegenerationXkid101 actually he said he could do a 16(:
RisenSk8ters 1 year ago
@DegenerationXkid101 lol i doubt anyone can..that would mean he could dunk the ball the height of the backboard...
carmas23 1 year ago
@DegenerationXkid101 Hah, good luck cause the king of queers will never enter the dunk contest cause he knows he can't. What a fake.

Wonder if Iverson could dunk on a 12 foot.
Termanator13 2 years ago
yeah looking at this math-wise, that was definitely not 12 full feet
but i have no doubt dwight couldve dunked 12 anyways
but michael wilson did it first either way
redhockey 2 years ago
more like 11' 6" or less. rim is about parellel with the top of the shooting box of the adjacent regulation rim. Top of box is 18" above 10' rim.
ducati748utube 2 years ago
average dunk he had all the showmanship but no creativity on that one
AxelPRC 2 years ago
BECAUSE IT WAS ON 12 FEET DUMBASS. What, you think he's gonna do a winmill?
SpeedPastYou 2 years ago
yea i get it was on a 12 foot rim but it was kinda anticlimatic he did it too easily it wasnt exciting and it wasnt even a good pass he could have added some flare to it, but definatley not a winmill
AxelPRC 2 years ago
WOW YOUR AN IDIOT
iLLmatic240 2 years ago
your calling me an idiot? I have an argument all you have is the nerve to call smeone an idiot without even knowing them. Dwight can touch a 10ft rim on his tip toes so he has to jump about 30-32inches to dunk on a 12ft rim easily, we all know he can jump that high and then some he didnt push himself he did it too easily with no flare it didnt deserve the score it got.
AxelPRC 2 years ago
dwight can't touch the rim on his tip toes. there is a video called "makings of a superman" or something like that where he is hanging on the rim, and even with the rim bent he is still a good 6 inches off the ground.
Youssefx56 2 years ago
i never said that ive seen the clip and if he was a 400lb Mc Donalds man he would still be able to dunk. I just think he needs to do a bit more because of his height and ridiculous wingspan

@DTDB1225 13 is the top of the backboard...like only 1 or 2 people in the world can touch that...dwight cant even do that so how the fuck is he or anybody else gonna dunk on a 13...

Gjans34 2 years ago
what makes me mad about this dunk:
1) his time should have started right when he started bringing out the rim and changing to his cape
2)This is not 12 feet. when they show it next to the regulation hoop, its like a foot higher maybe 11' 4
3)How does this show a dunking skill? this shows that he is the tallest player in the comp... J.R. and Rudy fernandez had the 2 best dunks (Smith's 1st dunk and Fernandez's 2nd dunk) and they were not in the final!
Bullshit
burrito1777 2 years ago 4
12' rim dunks are history dunks!!:
1) That's 12 foot Pause at and eat cocks!!
FuckCumInHeaven 2 years ago
i dont even understand your comment...
burrito1777 2 years ago
What is your vertical leap?
FuckCumInHeaven 2 years ago
lol..wth are you saying...
that ain't no freakin 12 ft rim.... it's only 1 foot higher! (*obviously...)
*Notice Howard's head barely reached the 10ft rim (if not even reaching it)...
Compare to Micheal Wilson's dunk that had his head over and pass the 11 feet mark!!
yajstylez 2 years ago 2
His full head is above that shit cus he needs a 13'4 leaping point to dunk the ball with 2 hands so this is a history leap the GREATEST DUNK!!!
Specially when you're hands are big.
FuckCumInHeaven 2 years ago
lol...talking nonsense.... XD
but whatever... for sure this aint hell no 12ft... common sense... it's soo sad to see people believe this is 12 feet rim...lol....
do a dunk with a real measure like Micheal Wilson and we'll see...
yajstylez 2 years ago
Announcer said it's 12 don't rely on the camera it changes from different side!
FuckCumInHeaven 2 years ago
who cares about the camera... just look at the squared lines where the rim is based on the bottom line.... definitely not 12 feet.... yawnz...

FuckCumInHeaven 2 years ago
i dunno it might be 12 but it looks lik 11 11 and a half maybe they were jus guessing the height. he coulda done 13 easily prob he did a boring lazy dunk on this one i wonder how cool a 13 woulda been(prob looked lik a reg, person dunking lol)
kingjappyjoe 2 years ago
Don't listen to Jalen Rose at the end he's fucking hater and don't know jack shit about basketball.
The guy would look a regular man dunking but it would be a 50 inch run up if you say he'll fucking dunk on 13'.
Hops is not springs it's strength!
It took years for every body!!
FuckCumInHeaven 2 years ago
well i dunked at 15-18(yrs old) and am 21(6'0) now and havent been able to dunk since i stopped going to gym(3 yrs ago). i just got acl surgery so it will be nother 6 mnths till i get to play again. so i agree about the strength but look at dwight im not even that much a fan of his i didnt listen to jalen then and never will hes almost as bad as miller is at commentating but i do believe he can nail a 12 foot basket easy this dunk was lame n he barely tried. ps. im not trying to argue.
kingjappyjoe 2 years ago
THIS DUNK WAS LAME AND YOU"RE NOT TRYING TO ARGUE?!!
When I said years I'm talking about genetically impossible leaping like 60 inch run up by the way.
It didn't took me time to a weak ass dunk.
So nobody want's to talk about you dunking and just watch the TFB.
FuckCumInHeaven 2 years ago
man i was just trying to show that you made a good point, dumbass. you ruin the 1 smart thing you say with four supid ass sentences.I mean what does "It didnt took me time to a weak as dunk" even mean? STFU and get hooked on phonics buckwheat! Plus, i dont know what you mean by watch the TFB. You need to shut up and watch that dick in your mouth.
kingjappyjoe 2 years ago
You said that dunk was lame nothing impressive.
It would be awesome for a 5'7 dude to dunk or touch the 10' That's the same on Dwight taking toll on heightened hoops with basic dunks!
FuckCumInHeaven 2 years ago
okay... but hes got a foot and a half on nate and its not like nate did basic dunks! i mean its not even comparable if you think about it ratio-wise 7:11 is easier than 5:10 beacause the foot and a half advantage hes got not only translates to height but arm length as well so it is def. easier for howard.
kingjappyjoe 2 years ago
Be honest man it's a foot and 2 inch!
Nate only got 10 inch on Dwight's hops and that will be Dwight still 4 inches not including their standing reach.
FuckCumInHeaven 2 years ago
thats not true get a olympic high jumper they will be able to do that for sure
AxelPRC 2 years ago
WHAT!?
I was Actually on the side of the olympic high jumper because they could get their ribs at 8ft vertically without bending.
That would reserve 6 - 10 inches of their head above the rim!
FuckCumInHeaven 2 years ago
oh sorry bro i thought you said its impossible for someone to have a legit 60inch vert. My bad
AxelPRC 2 years ago
It takes time!
Nothing happens over night.
Just Squat so heavy to failure at 1 rep!
Power lifting is the key but your muscles wouldn't be able to lift like magic.
You need to gain gain and gain weight eat and eat and lift super heavy.
Start with Close to twice your own body weight now then twice your own body weight.
Increase reps of 12 maximum.
Believe me.
NFL players jump 38 inches from the standing and 44 inch running and they weight 270 pounds!!!!!!
Basketball is nothing.
FuckCumInHeaven 2 years ago
maybe god saw his name and made him illiterate!?!
kingjappyjoe 2 years ago
I think Leg pressing is better than squat?
FuckCumInHeaven 2 years ago
for the love of christ...jalen rose always has a negative comment -.-
BriceJr23 2 years ago
having an outstanding vertical leap...then having almost 6'10 or '11 height...plus power and a good passer...thats easy for him
nickonnecarlo 2 years ago
Today's dunk contest is bias and everyone knows it. almost all of dwights dunks were 50 and rudy getting a low score for taking long is stupid. They should change the rules then!!! like if u take long u lose points so dumb.

it was 12 feet and it is impressive
smasood806 2 years ago
that dunk sucked. what happened to the good ole days where the dunk contest was about who had the best dunk instead of who could use props effectively or who could jump the highest? It's impressive that a person can jump high, but it damn sure isn't worth a 50.

lilgip 2 years ago
he can definately dunk 12 foot tho cos remmba his sticker dunk was 12'6
dubones 2 years ago
Which he placed with his fingertips, not with a ball in his hand.
BoxingJ 2 years ago
Of course he used his fingertips. How often do you use your palm when you can use your fingers in life? Try typing your comment with your palm.
Chopin742 2 years ago 4
yeah but they're talking about dunking, not typing. we don't do everything with our fingertips. BoxingJ's point is that just because you can get your hand up 12'6" doesn't mean you can dunk on a rim of that height.
robps89 2 years ago
Oh, I never thought that he could dunk at 12'6. I just meant that it would be hard to hold a sticker in your palm and that if you can reach 12'6...you can probably dunk at 12'. I'm not sure that is true, but I think it would be.
Chopin742 2 years ago
No but he can for sure dunk on 12..
