  • dude, you're a really sweet lady and your fox is adourable! Facebook is really stupid sometimes and Im with you in saying they need to get their crap together and sort all the bugs out . perhaps send Kevie in there tp straiten them out Lo,l! :3

  • @Thylastripes Yeah Kevie would sure show them wouldn't she! lol!!

  • It's -probably- because people are clicking "I don't know this person" when you're inviting them. Thus blocking you; also it blocks you from sending them further requests. I know because a website I visit gets me about 5 friend requests a day and I have the option of clicking "I don't know this person" (or; do you know this person outside of facebook) but I normally just click ignore/hide friend request.

  • I use facebook as a simple tool that allows me to keep in touch with friends. When I first got it, I kept inviting people I thought I knew... but I ended up deleting more than 75% of my contacts. Now I barely have a hundred and it's perfect, cause it's only people I know! Also, Facebook is not for everybody. I don't like it, but since it's what most of my friends use... But it might not be your think too! It surely makes me happier to know you're having fun with Kevie in the snow! =)

  • Hi Beanie! Facebook is a sensitive subject right now with me too because I hate the new Timeline feature, but that's a totally different matter. I think I might be able to help you. People complained for so long about request spammers that facebook had to take extreme measures to insure people's account safety. The spammers were making friends on facebook only to scam them into clicking on links that would be malicious in nature. (continuing below if it lets me...)

  • @jenna2784 When people deny someone's friendship request this information goes to Facebook. They are taking a running total of friendship denials. When this gets too high that's when they block you. Most likely no one has "reported you" per say. There have been too many denials. Most likely these people don't remember who you are, especially if you're using your married name and they knew you by your maiden name. What you can do to combat this is when you get your account back....

  • @jenna2784 When you find someone you knew in the past send them a message first explaining how you both know eachother. Then you say, send me a friend request if you want to be friends on facebook. Then the pressure is off you. This is how you can prevent yourself from getting blocked by facebook again. (Sorry that explanation was so long!!!)

  • @jenna2784 It's ok, I don't mind long comments. :o) It makes a lot of sense what you said especially since I'm still pretty new to facebook. :o)

  • Just don't add people you've not talked to for thirty years... they're not going to remember you and will say they don't know you because of it. I've declined friend requests before (well, before I really racked up my security settings) simply because at the time I didn't realise this person was a friend or a friend or some other obscure relationship.

Not everyone wants everyone they've ever met in their life on their Facebook account, just keep your friend list restricted to recent peeps.

  • The people you're inviting may not be responding at all, or declining for various reasons. I don't think FB ever shows you that information. You might check FB's help center or the net for more information (I found a few sites, but it's not allowing me to post them), or ask the "contact us if this is an error" people if unanswered or denied requests can cause them to block you. Hope things work out. FB can be useful, like Twitter & Google, when it's working.

  • @Vythonvex I did the "contact us if this is an error" thing and then it said that I would receive an email response shortly but I never have. It's just so goofy! Here on Youtube, you can invite whomever you want and if the person doesn't want to accept or block someone, it's their choice. Twitter is the same way and I think that Facebook should allow us to decide whether we want to accept or block a person. Maybe I knew this person but they can't remember or need reminding of how I know them

  • @SpiritWhiteFox2 FB does allow that, but it's possible that enough people have denied you or just not answered that FB is afraid you're spamming. They're trying to crack down on that. Hopefully, it all gets resolved. I would send a message with your invites from now on saying how you know the person if it's someone who may not remember. :D

  • @Vythonvex I did that and it was so neat to connect with an old friend whom I haven't spoken to in decades! :o) I just feel that I'm a bit too old to be 'punished' by facebook. Sometimes I forget who I send invites to and accidently send 2 to the same person. Facebook calls this "harassment"?? Yikes! We get spammed ALL the time, it seems that's what facebook is all about. Ads and spamming. :o(

  • That sucks, Beanie. You are looking good though. :) Did you lose weight?

  • @AxialTangent lol! Thanks for noticing! :o)

  • to be honest facebook is not worth it!! it always starts an argument if i remove people if i dont invite people to an event yeah not worth it...

  • @karmacranes You're always going to run into people to love to contradict everything you say or do no matter where you go. I just think that facebook should allow the user more choices. If they wish to accept or to block someone, it should be up to the user to decide. Facebook is behaving like a strict parent who is scolding it's child by blocking you from inviting someone for a period of time. It's like I got a time out for being friendly. I didn't think there was anything wrong with that

  • I had/have facebook back when I thought it was something for college students (you had to have an email with a .edu to actually get an account). Of course back then I forgot about it until a high school friend found me about an year ago. Still... even now I barely touch it, it's just not worth the time or the spam of people trying to get you to play games with them. Most of my attention is on twitter instead where it's less annoying than facebook in many ways.

  • @CasidheVixen Twitter is awesome! We've been on there for awhile. It's plain, basic, and a whole lot LESS drama! :o)

  • @SpiritWhiteFox2 We agree...twitter is straight forward, no nonsense simplicity!

  • Sorry to hear it Beanie, that's a load of crap! It does seem fishy though, I suspect foul play at work :(

  • @Hissfit9476 Yeah, me too. Guess we stepped on sombody's toes a bit too hard? ;o)

  • I just wait until other people add me. LOL I'm lazy.

  • @slupine Ah and here Kevie said it was probably you that reported me! hahaha

  • The most plausible explanation is that some people that you asked to be friends with chose to not accept your request. When several people "unaccept" friend requests from you at the same time, you get that block for security reasons.

  • @hyperwires OH that makes sense. See I'm still new to facebook but WHO would unaccept me?? hahaha ;o)

  • If you leave Face book where will you go to play Zack's Trivia???!!!!

    You know it's a "HOOT!!!!!".....: )

  • @southernedge2010 That would be about the only reason why I'd stay on facebook, to play your trivia! :o)

  • It's probably one of 3 things, a hack, a troll, or maybe the people you're friending don't recognize you and reported you

  • @AranScathProductions Or maybe a little of all of the above. hahaha ;o)

  • facebook is useually a waste of time sometimes depending on what u do but do u know if anyone ishacking your facebook?

  • That's absolutely crazy right?! I've never heard of this before. Glad you got me and I got you! xx

  • I was a little reluctant to get onto Facebook even from the start. And after hearing all the stuff that has been going on around it, and a number of social media sites, sometimes I wonder if not joining was actually a good move. (Years ago, I had left Livejournal because I had a hard enough time keeping up with all my friend's posts every day. Which is why I was reluctant to Facebook)

I can see if my room mate has heard anything about the problem you are having. She's on Facebook quite a lot.

  • That's odd Chris got that same message on the business page. I wonder if someone is just going around reporting people somehow. That's very strange.

  • You should check into igoogle

  • @sunshyneNrainxx i have a igoogle and i personally love it more than my facebook to the point im never on facebook anymore lol

  • that stinks beanie im glad you added me before they started all that nonsense with not allowing you to friend anybody that's crazy they need to fix that! =/

  • @greekitaliangerman I can accept friend invites, I just can't invite people...if that makes sense. People can invite me but I can't invite them...at least for 14 days! lol

  • Facebook is illegal. They collect your private information then sell it to advertisers without your consent.

You can't even delete your account; when you click "delete" it only causes your account to go to sleep so you can always re-open it.

  • @CidSilverWing So does hotmail, youtube, and just about any other place you visit on the web. ;o)

  • @CidSilverWing not true. it technicly "sleeps" for at least a week for security, incase someone hacked you so you can click undo on your email. but then it deletes.

  • That's terrible, I have never heard of that... it's strange. Sorry you had to go through all that.

  • @alamo1731 And we have never had this problem either until now.

  • I dont get it...ppl invite ppl they dont know all the time...all you have to do is deny it. Honestly what is the problem with these crazy ppl? Its not like you can force someone to friend you. Facebook has so many problems...I go back and forth being on there. Tell em to stick it Beanie! Sounds to me like someone is trying to deliberately mess with you.

  • @tmhoneybunny I think you're right, it's probably another attempt to deliberately sabotage us. There are some pretty sad people out there.

  • Facebook sux sometimes Beanie!! It's always doing something crazy to somebody :/ I try to post things and have to repost it bcuz it keeps dissappearing and finally after like 7 tries, it sticks..BUT...everyone sees ALL 7 post!!! :/ I keep it bcuz its how i keep in touch with Family & friends back home

  • @miagirl I know, I thought it was so cool to connect with some of my classmates whom I haven't seen in 30 or more! I was really excited about connecting with them again. I have a friend on facebook who has to be careful about writing messages because if she writes too much, meaning like 4 or 5 lines, a message pops up warning her and sometimes it'll block her for sending too many messages. Ugh!

  • facebook is cracking down on the people adding other people to add to their crews for farmville and mobsters. Give it to zynga for farmville... >.<

  • @RocketFoxStudio Oh that's just nuts! I thought facebook was for social networking.

  • Hey! There MUST be a glitch in the system! That's ridiculous. I just sent u a friend request on Facebook - I'm friends n talk a lot outside Facebook too w/ Gen n Marissa n Dani n Kim - so we'll see if I! get blocked!

  • @M1sty4Making I think it might be like somebody said and that somebody reported me instead of just ignoring my friend request. I didn't report you though, Dear, I accepted! ;o)

  • i am sorry to hear that...facebook is a drama place :P i have 1000 friends and mostly everyday they talk about drama :P one sign of someone talking to themselces gets blocked Xp but im sorry to her about this Miss

  • How crazy and frustrating. I don't blame you for being frustrated. I've never heard of fb doing that before. Wow, I would be upset about it too.

  • @mbjlhj It's CRAZY! I thought I was innocent until PROVEN guilty! Grrrr

  • Yeah, in lower Ohio we got snow, too.

And the Facebook thing - I only have, what, 30 friends? I don't even bother sending friend requests to the other people I know, because I don't even talk to half of them.

  • Beanie you look lovely. The house is so pretty.

I have a Facebook acct but rarely go there for reasons of my own.

What the heck ? That's crazy weird how they are blocking you......and as far as friend invites...any of them who you have invited could simply ignore your friend request.....without there being any Facebook rhetoric ....bizarre !!

The only thing I can think is that someone who you sent a friend request to complained to Facebook? CRAZY !!

  • @mukwah1111 Aww thanks Dear! Yeah I think it's as you said, someone complained. Very sad.

  • Nicely done Beanie, you know how I feel about this ..leave the stupid Facebook site, you don't need it and there are other places you can join where you will NOT get hassled like this.

Happy New year! Hugs (virtual ones)

    Louise

  • @shadyrosy Yes Dear and could you please send me the links again? I'm sorry I've been so forgetful lately. Thank you!

  • @SpiritWhiteFox2 Hi again Beanie: okay, this stupid site won't let me put in the pages - email me direct at wezel2@gmail.com and I'll send along the links.

  • @shadyrosy Great! I will email you as soon as I go and get Kevie. It's getting COLD out there and she'll be anxious to come back inside where it's warm. Thanks Dear!!
