To anyone training in Romania:if you ever have acoach hit you or is verbally abusive and he yells a lot at you and insults you please don't let him get away with it. Some coaches in the Eastern Block countries are very cruel. Do complain to someone you know, There is a democracy in Romania, and people can
say now whatever they want, there is freedom of speech. Don't forget that.
@quelita28 u have right is not normal to be treated like this i watch the secret of deva and i feel very bad watching the coaches they were violent and cruel shame on them!
That's rights. The thing is that the young gymnasts in Romania are too scared of speaking out when coaches abuse them physically or verbally. They have to be brave and tell the authorities about it! If not the abuse is going to continue and it will never end.

emmaionescu: i agree with you. In the ultra-material world and mindset of the people of the U.S.A. there´s this tendency to see things in terms of being "fancy" or not. They should check on the medal tables for gymnastics in the olympics, say, of the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s to see where the "fancy trained" gymnasts of the U.S.A. stand versus the gymnasts of the former USSR (now Russia or Ukraine), Romania and the former East Germany. Guaranteed: they will be shocked to see what the results were.
@vonkaunaz oh calm down, that slam on us Americans as materialistic is pathetic. Nice blanket statement! Yes the BEST gymnasts of the past came from Romania, USSR, and East Germnay, and now in the new centrury of gymnastics the Americans are clearly on top and are the number 1 gymnasts in the world, every country has their time and clearly this is America's time, that's just a fact!
@Chuckie1028: Nothing wrong with materialism though; its human nature. The point is Americans are the most materialistic people on planet earth. Now, about gymnastics, yes...precisely the best American gymnast during Beijing was Anastasia Valeryevna Liukin, daughter of Valery Liukin and Anna Kotchneva, do yo know who these persons are? Also you are wrong, from where do you get Americans are # 1 gymnasts in the world? At Beijing gymnastics they were # 2, behind China.
trust me i wasnt making fun of romania, i know they cant afford grips. trust me, i love romania and love their gymnasts. i was just stating that i wouldnt want to go through the pain of having calluses ripped off my hands
actually i take that back. id rather be in a gymnastics school here b/c gymnasts here get to use grips on the bars & dont have to have whole calluses ripped off their hands
I love this documentary and it is nice to know what Milo is doing with her life after gymnastics. It is a shame that it was so short - that is my only regret. I wish the documentary was much longer. Glad that it is in English.
He was sentenced to 8 years but I think he only spent about 5 years in jail. It's a very sad situation. Of course everybody sweeps it under the carpet.
i know starbardd, i just read an article about it. he claims he wasnt a tough coach and he pushed her. witnesses say tho he grabbed her by the neck & slammed her neck into the beam, then made her do a very difficult floor routine that she messed up. he then beat her wildly throwing puches and kicks at her & then beat her with a thick bat.
I am Romanian, and I dont know because the Italians hate the Romanians, do not know the difference between the Romanians and Gypsies true !!!!! LOVE THIS CLIP!
Getting naked for a Japanese porno I can forgive Milo, but that mullet is a crime against humanity.

Grips are more for gripping the bar rather than protecting your hands. China doesn't use grips, but they sure can afford them.
