50 years later... NASA come up with is a design that look's exactly the same as the one 50 years ago... amazing isn't it? I fear for the eventual extinction of man, we are trap on this rock! =(
Dude, I don't think we will ever return to the moon. Why should we have to risk lives at the cost of billions of dollars when we can send robots to do our durty work?
seriously? holy jesus!!! i thought when it said "digital animation" in the description that it meant "this actually happened and is in no way FAKE SHIT"
i am very glad you pointed that out. without illiterate ass rammers like you saying everything is fake, people might get confused. maybe you should try reading a description from time to time?
'Mars, the bringer of War' by Holste, which is odd since it's the moon, not Mars. Bodes ill for the demilitarisation of space, I'd say. Debussy's 'Claire de Lune' might be a be a better soundtrack for the 21st century IMHO.

so Rutan, from spaceship one, isn't as much as one person in NASA is? So Russia's space designer in Roskosmos isn't as good as the guy/girl at NASA? So Von Braun, WWII rocket scientist, isn't as good either?
Rutan is from Scaled Composites. Spaceship One is the name of his prototype of a larger, unbuilt design. When Rutan can put 7 people in orbit for two weeks and bring them home along with 10 tons of cargo, I'll be more interested in comparing Scaled Composites to NASA. We're not talking about Roskosmos here, this is a NASA design/movie that we're commenting on. Von Braun worked for NASA after WWII, and was responsible for the design of the Saturn V rocket that carried Americans to the Moon.
nasa very smart i agree your good man in my opnion to speak up butt nasa is full of politices and anybody with more brians than them wont get to do anything its small group. i know i tried to give help its always politices and money
i liked the music but try out with different music, what about chopin, or maybe you decide to take some air instruments like flute or so then try bach...would be very interesting to see the difference, because although of course the music matches very well, i thing your pictures are much slower than the drama in the music. well done anyway
My off the cuff idea: Let Rutan design a DC-X that can be based at the ISS, a 'pusher craft' to take it to/from the moon, and a SpaceshipOne-type craft to get the crew to and from LEO. Hell, if you design the DC-X lander to get on and off Mars as a primary capability, you might even be able to build that Moon Colony you're teasing us all with (but which will never be possible with this junk).
The 60's are over. NASA should start acting like it.
NASA will head its own path. Commercial space industry like SpaceShipOne will head its own path.
I hope NASA realizes that it is time to invest more money into space activity rather than ISS or space shuttles, which in the end are much more expensive than the Soyuz.
The DC-X was never ment to reach earth orbit, it was only a test vehicle that reached only subsonic speeds. Thats like 1/25 it needs to get to the iss in the first place.
checmical propulsion can simply not push a space cabin of that size into orbit. Maybe if it was a stage system with a 3by3foot cabin for the crew.
Maybe then the dc-x can go to orbit. It was only a test vehicle to test vertical takeoff.
it was made to in the first place to prove a science fictional
view. which was, vertical takeoff of spacepods, of which the DC-X shared those characteristics.
as for the moon, 1/6th gravity. We can make a DC-x concept that would work on the moon since it has very low gravity.
we are stuck in the sixties because theres no alternative then to build a large staged rocket to get 1/100th of all mass into orbit. we need anot more research to improve that efficiency.
Hey NASA - get a clue! We have a 2 decades worth of reusable materials technology & experience with the shuttle, a space station which isn't doing anything useful, and a guy in Burt Rutan who could design something to do this job for 1/4 of what you'll wind up paying Lockheed & Boeing to do 'Apollo II'.
your right about one thing butt america got talent couldnt even believe in, brains, designs and future physics and they wont get hired or even talked about. its all politices and nasa needs lot of money to pay the people to live the high life and to make sure there lots of safety
2 things I'm struck by with this video: How overdone the music is, and how even more inefficient these missions will be when compared to Apollo. I count 2 seperate Earth launches (!) & 5 sections, only one of which (the capsule) is reusable.
No more flights into space.
you do not have money...he, he

Seems Nasa`s Constellation Program has been cancelled now. They aren`t going anywhere. Nasa has become great at making animations though.

I love it when people on the internet think they have a better idea! Hey guys, NASA knows how to do this stuff! What do you know how to do?

The music is "Mars:Bringer Of War" from 'The Planets' by Gustav Holst. If you've ever seen "The Right Stuff", you've heard alot of it.
Yes there are two launches, but Orion can deliver 20 tons of cargo to the surface of the moon, which is much more than Apollo could do.
I love it how armchair rocket scientists on the internet think they know how to do it better than the people who have already done it.
