It had to be Tony and Palmer on those final conversations, then it would be epic and emotional. My biggest complain with 24 is they killed off almost all good characters.

Taylor wasn't a bad character, but Chloe sucks. Unpopular opinion, I know...

At the end, when the timer was counting down i Honestly had flashbacks about everything that had taken place in those 8 seasons, as that timer was counting down, i think it occurred to me that 24 was finally coming to an end and that really saddened me.

The ending is so significant to me. Watching the 8 seasons and the timer starting from 00:00:00 all the way throughout the eight days, the timer counting down really teared me up, because i knew that everything that had happened had lead to this. Its really important to me also as i knew that those last few beeps were the final sounds of the greatest show to ever have been created. I honestly have about 10 other points about why the timer counting down instead of up is so special.

This was the so emotional. When Jack thanked Chloe for covering for him all those years...it was just sad. Jack didn't get to get on that flight to L.A. to be with his family. But after Renee Walker was killed, I could see this coming a mile away. I had a feeling President Taylor wouldn't sign that peace (bloody) treaty. Usually when someone close to Jack is killed or harmed, Jack kills all those involved. Long Live Jack Bauer! The Nation's Greatest Hero! (in the 24 universe of course)

The acting, story, characters, action, music, camerawork, emotion is just fantastic and Jack Bauer is an amazing icon to the genre, As a british person i find Jack Bauer more of an awesome amazing character than James Bond, that proves 24's brilliance. This final scene teared me up. And i truly never tear up. Seeing my favorite show go out on such a dramatic,kinda unresolved note just made me lose it. 8 was definitely a hot-and-cold season. As a matter of fact, I'd say it jumped the shark around the time Jack was being tortured by the cop. However, they did an excellent job with the ending; I especially like how the ambush on Jack's ambulance was off-screen.

As much as I liked "24," I'm not sorry it's gone. It had its time, and now it's over. And I think they just lost the momentum after the writers' strike and Kiefer's stint in the pokey. Besides, there's only so many "worst days of my life" that Jack Bauer can take. I really think if and when the movie materializes, he'ls going to be a rogue. But last I heard, they hadn't even started shooting yet. But I will definitely catch it because Tony Scott's directing.
