  • Glad everyone was ok manga....I just drove around afterwards and took loads of pics of the damage. It was unbelievable. Especially the amount of trees that were down. We were ok too. We lived a few blocks from where that plane was flipped and broken.......0:51 and 2:26......that plane was at the LaPorte airport on Spencer.

  • deer park is where i am and on 0:41 is my friends house they had to redo the front porch were ok though

  • i live in deer park...i love that veitnam plane....the hurricane was living hell.....it was more powerful expected

  • Hi Robert,

I (and we) appreciate people like you coming out to help us!! I was fortunate and didn't get a lot of damage. I had to go out of state a few weeks after the storm..just got back. We need our roof tarped in two places. Went to FEMA office on Spencer today & found out FEMA is no longer helping anyone in Texas :o(. So I had a construction guy tell me today it would cost $650.00 to put two small tarps on my spots on my roof!!! I told him no thanks! I'm glad you liked the video. Bye :)

  • I also made this because I appreciate the utility people and clean up crews that worked so hard to help us.

A few pictures in the show are more than they seem.

    1. The Dairy Queen with the elec. pole - that pole not only broke, but flew thru the air 40 feet and landed on the dairy queen.

    2. The elec. pole that snapped and was balancing on the light pole blew me away!

    3. 2nd to last pic in the show there is a HUGE tree- if you look bottom left u see the man who has to clean it up. OVERWHELMING!

  • Thanks for the comments! I'm glad you guys came out ok. We lost some shingles and some minor damage, but I think the fence and banana tree got the worst of it! LOL

I live very close to where the plane flipped. We were very fortunate. I was compelled to make this slideshow because of the way the neighbors helped each other, our families came together, and the way everyone seemed to care for one another. The power being off made us realize what we take for granted.

  • I ran out of space to type! haha. Great video. :) I hope you and your family were safe during the storm and you didn't sustain too much damage to your property.

  • I live in Pasadena and we were lucky to not have got as much damage as a lot of people in our area. It's so surreal to see places you pass each and everyday destroyed. That's when it hits you that "wow this was a pretty major storm." We had no power for 2 weeks and lost a few shingles off our roof but that was it. No one complained for a second cause we were able to get food, water, ice and we were all safe. Those 2 weeks showed us just how spoiled we really are and what we take for granted.
