I have no interest of this beautiful little bike, don't even know I got here! But this has to go to my "favorites" list simply for displaying the true joy of riding! Thanks for uploading!
This is what cruisin on a bike is all about. Out in the open road with a nice backdrop. Nice vtr too. If only i was just a few cm taller i would get this bike but had to settle for a cruiser. What matters is i can still ride n enjoy every moment of it.
This Video is cheesier than a pound of velveeta. But what a cool bike. My first bike was an imported 1989 VT250F special edition. Twin front discs baby!! The little V-twin is 10x cooler than a lame ass parallel twin. I swore my 89 would have bucked a new Ninja250.
Please Honda Guys, sell it here in Portugal. Please. I would buy it without doubts. Many of the comments here have focused the most important thing. Not every people want's big bikes. I want this bike. Please sell it in my country. Forgive my bad english.
Could you make the bike any less exciting? The vtr250 is an awesome learner bike whereas this video make me WANT to get Alzheimer'sso that I can forget this atrocity. The vtr can light up the rear, it can lift the front and with a good exhaust it can blow eardrums. Learners ignore this video - the VTR is not as gay as this makes out.
Their building these now in Thailand for export to Japan if you can believe it, but you can't actually buy one in Thailand ...yet! Amazing, you sit on it and magically wind up on the Great Ocean Road in Vic Australia!
Beautiful Bike. WISH they had it here in Canada. I agree with the posts regarding the 250cc engine. Plenty fast enough, efficient, capable and an intelligent choice for many people! Lovely Bike.
switchritch, i wholeheartedly agree! its not only the uk.. its all of europe.. here its the same in germany.. the really biiiig bikes are everything, they determine the market.. i would never want to ride something big.. 250 is my favorite engine size.. i hope they might change their way of thinking soon.. a 250 is much more efficient for most people than big bikes... mileage etc..
@yabba234 the really big bikes will finish biking way too fast for public roads...the biking press/media should promote the fun- freedom side of biking...not sports performance like ALL THE FREAKIN TIME..!
On a side note, I recently took the bike to Winton Raceway for a track day. In 30 degrees (celsius) and higher temperatures she performed admirably all day, though seriously lacks power for track duties. I even managed to pass some poor sod on an R1 under brakes into turn 1 :P
Just thought I'd point out that this footage was filmed in Victoria, Australia along the Great Ocean Road. The bike retails here for around $8,500 ride away.
I have a black 2006 model. I have owned it for almost 2 years and service it myself. I couldn't recommend it more as a learner's bike.
Good torque, sounds great with an after-market muffler, not particularly light though. The recent introduction of fuel injection is said to improve throttle response and fuel consumption.
It's a real shame that Honda don't sell his bike in the UK...it's one of the most popular bikes in Japan. There seems to be a perception that bikers in the UK who could afford something like this would rather go for something more outrageous, but I don't think that's true. This bike has a great reputation for quality and not everybody needs to do 0-60mph in 3 seconds.
its a great bike but here in greece its expensive...5150 euros........so i bought a suzuki burgman used 5000km with 2950 euros.............like new...
kai omos file to burgman me exei volepsei apistefta.......logo xorou kai enai poli prostateftiko se kako kairo kai aera meta ta 100 tin ora.......kai einai pooooooli ksekourasto...se pernei o ypnos diladi......lol
I hope this comes to UK at some point, I'd buy one tomorrow, really not bothered about jumping onto a 500+ and all other 250's around just dont do it for me....oh well, guess I'll just keep pottering around on my 125 :(
i have an '89 VTR250 right now. it only was sold here in the states for 3 years (88-90) and seems like it was competition for the ninja 250 of that time. apparantly it was a better bike yet honda yanked it. i agree that this is a sweet bike right here and with the gas prices the way they are honda should definately give it another chance!
Hahaha I went to Honda to have a look at the 250 and thay asked me what other bike i am looking at and i said the Ninja 250. And he was like naaaa Honda is better, and a V2 is better than the 2 inline........ The only thing that pulls me to the Honda is that it's engines are fuel injected. But my opinion the Ninja looks so much better.
Its not for sale in the USA either. It would be big here. We need more cheaper small displacement bikes. More people would ride. I'm expecting the CHinese or Indian makers to take over the small market.
I wish they would bring this bike over here too. There needs to be some competition with the Ninja 250, and I would buy one. It's a Honda and it's a vtwin.....of course i'd buy it!!!
why they dont sell this in america anymore is unknown to me. The only 250cc sport bike sold in the states is the ninja 250 and i think this is a much better looking bike.
I miss my VTR250. I bought it brand new, I had it for about 18 months and loved every minute of it. Dont get me wrong now that I have my CBR600RR thats even better, but the VTR250 was so much fun.
kawasaki ninja is cheaper(4399 vs 4699 euros), more aerodynamic, less weight, ass good brand as the honda , with better looks , fuel injection., quiker cause of the aerodinamics....and the list go on
but you cant compare this two bikes, they are so much different, Ninja is Sport, this is like a "Classsic Naked" or something like that xD. I'm just saying that both bikes are wonderfull, and i will buy both at the same time, because the are different.
Faster? I have 3 mates with ninja250s I have a vtr250 and weigh a good 30kg more than them, my vtr will beat them from a stand still or roll up to 100 km/h...
wishmaster --- it is not a copy of DUCATI. HONDA is unique in it's own right. DUCATI MONSTER is not the only naked bike model out on this planet. Look at this bike, the Gladius, XJ6, ER6-N, etc.
less emotion, more bike please, i reckon the contasting color on the side is a bit weird. would look forward if they changed the front light, otherwise, a reall really really nice bike!!!

MrKvasi 2 years ago 22
@MrKvasi The original VTR250 was a completely different bike. It was a full-faired motorcycle based on the larger VF.
The second generation and current VTR250 was introduced in 97, 5 years after the Ducati monster, from which it took the naked trellis design.
