I've seen many big bands live but these guys put on a show that is burnt into you like a tatoo. I enjoyed their gig way better than the U2 360 gig.

@Maarteuh96 As a huge U2 fan, who has been a fan since the release of 11 o'clock tick tock as a kid and play guitar in the style of edge (amongst others) I agree U2 rock but in my opinion the Coldplay gig was far far better at Glasgow Hampden Park than the U2 gig I saw in Amsterdam. U2 fucked up with the 360 set as the stage was not in the middle of the stadium. The only band I know and have seen who got it right was Def Leppard the band who created "In The Round"

@TalkToTheBody That's your opinion, I'm going to see them in Brussels in a couple of days, well, you're the kind of guy who likes the old-U2 style, I like them both, the old and the new. Look at what they build, it's amazing. No other band can do this.

@Maarteuh96 ha, not at all. I have every U2 album and like every part of their musical journey from the Boy album to the latest. I don't prefer any particular period in their history, I like it all. I agree they do some fine stagework but based purely on the night Coldplay just had a better vibe. I think as I said before U2 spoiled it by putting the so-called 360 stage at the end of the stadium and a section of those seats at the end of the stadium were sealed off, defeats the object!

@Maarteuh96 Def Leppard put their "in the round" stage smack bang in the middle so everyone had a front row seat, check out videos from their Adrenalise tour and you will see what I mean. Sure it wasn't like U2 scale but the perfectly round stage was dead centre. I bought two tickets for the U2 gig at the Amsterdam Arena, both tickets were the second highest value and they were way too far away to see properly , no point in having a 360 when you don't put the stage in the middle

Yeah, everybody has a front row seat, but they aren't playing in the Amsterdam ArenA or Koning Boudewijnstadion, you can't have a front row seat in a stadium for 65,000 - 110,000 people. Nobody can even come close to U2. If you are telling me Pink Floyd has a better design and lighting I don't believe you saw U2 in their U2360°Tour.

@Maarteuh96 Now you are twisting my words, I never said everyone gets a front row seat at a Floyd gig. I was saying Def Leppard's "in the round" idea was well executed and everyone literally felt they were at the front. I saw Def Leppard in their hometown of Sheffield at the Sheffield Arena. A typical oblong'ish arena but the stage as I keep saying was dead centre so everyone was pretty much in their face. The lighting at the 360 show was no where near as good as Pink Floyd

You are totally mistaking me, I never said ther stage was crap or the show was crap, all I said was Coldplay beat them on the night and it was mainly due to U2 having their fabulous 360 stage too far off centre, so much so that I could hardly bloody see them and that was a £85 ticket. Snow Patrol was their support band, but again I could hardly see them. The lighting was good but it was average for a gig that size.
