  • Well, this video was from 5 years ago so if it makes you feel better, the house fly would have been dead anyway.

  • PWNED

  • i just got mine tuesday,december 22 2009 they rule i named mine snappy:)

  • LOL. That's a cute name for it.

    :D

  • Aside from the fact that I love plants, this is the reason that I have got to get a venus fly-trap this coming summer. I hate flies!

  • @Gr8Teaist actually, they are ineficent at fly extermination. and the saucer of water you keep underneath means good breeding for flies.

  • Thanks for the tip. However, my home is generally free of those pesky critters. It is just every once in a blue moon that a fly wizzes in the door along with a guest. I think washing the saucer and changing the water in the saucer daily is a good practice. It is only there to assure that the plant gets enough moisture anyway. Otherwise, I generally hunt the nasty little critter down and swat it. But, thanks again.

    :)

  • very nice!

  • AT the end would be a good time for a "HAWHAW"

  • OM NOM NOM NOM

  • Fly: "I do say, what a perculiar set of leaves. Let's take a looksey..."

  • OWNED!!!!

  • how did the venus fly trap evolve via natural selection? any idea's on the intermediate steps?

    very interesting

  • Most likely, because of a sudden drop of nutrients around the plant, the ones which had a mutation of secreting digestive enzymes on the leaf would have survived, like the other CP.

Over millions of years, more mutations would have created better and better traps for catching insects, such as the opened leaf, the trigger hairs, more powerful acids/traps, and teeth for a watertight seal. Because it was an advantage, the flytraps with the best of these would have been most likely to reproduce.

  • these dont seem to last long.

  • What? The plant? They can last for 500 years! Cause they reproduce themselves without pollination.

  • ouch.. I just thought that, how does it feel, when you put your dick in there .__.

  • wow that was fast and good riddance those fly are more hassle than there worth

  • You should get many of these if your house or garden is infested with bugs.

  • from where cpuld i get one?

  • in specialty shps, they are hard 2 find but cheap.

  • wow, fast VFT, love it

    Cheers

  • i mean i used to hav 1 but this is awesome i feed mine bees and bugs and crap

  • PWNED

  • will venus fly trap eat a dead fly?

  • Yes, it's in fact triggered by movement however, so you will have to move the fly a bit.

  • yeah, I saw the fly buzzing around the house one day and stunned him by hitting him with a rolled up newspaper. Little did he know that things were about to get much worse...

  • "Its a hard knock life" ^^

  • @breadfan22 is that why he didnt fly?
