@AlexandrKC ну справедливости ради надо сказать что многие из этих,на мой вкус,чересчур амбициозных проектов реализованы не были,что лично для меня хорошо,потому что "готэм-сити" многие из этих проектов действительно напоминают ,такая несоразмерная с человеком ,архитектура будет только подавлять и вносить психологический дискомфорт, по той же причине я не люблю нью-йорк.

Looks a bit weird but i like it. But on a drawing it's different than live. These buildings are just way too big and therefore oppressive to feel at ease being around them. Like those Albert Speer buildings. The metro tunnels are beautiful.

this was the 30s and in my opinion the greatest period of architectural design. Things retained a class and prestige and were still quite reflecting the posterity of the 19th century. It wasnt until after the war that we saw the 'brutalist' architecture that was grotesque and cheap. Most of the time it was a failed attempt at being modernist.

to dwwematt: The name of this planned and unfinished building is Palace of Soviets. Original russian name is дворец Советов (Dvorec Sovetov). And I am more interested about name of music in this video. :) I dont like it too much but it lend itself to the video.

No, there were many big ideas for how to build great architecture but many of them remained just as ideas.
