I have got to get to Northern Ireland someday soon. My heritage almost completely comes from Ulster - what Americans call "Scotch-Irish" - or Ulster Scot/Protestant/whatever. I just want to see the faces of the people there and talk with them. See the last bit of land my ancestors stood on before getting on the boats. I don't consider myself anything but American, but I think it would still be a profound experience.

I LOVE THIS VIDEO!!!!!!!! this is definately how i see belfast now and I LOVE northern ireland!!!!!! all the politics and stuff is a pile of shit and the only people still banging on about catholic and protestants are those who want to cling on to something to fight about (and theyre in the minority now thank god!) love!

Let me bielieve that Belfast and Northern Ireland has irish Identity but under control UK. Irish music, cultur, pub's etc, ..

I'm protestant and I hope that UK give opportunity to develop Northern Ireland with irish identity. Im christian from Poland and I hate this stupid fighting, wars protestant/catholics - I hate it. We are in Europe and everyone should reach to unity. I know that Northern Ireland is in UK but I hope that identity this country will be irish (under control UK) but irish !!!

But what's wrong with being Irish and British just like England is English and British? I'm neither protestant nor catholic, but whenever I'm abroad and someone asks me where I'm from I say Britain, and whenever someone in the UK asks where I'm from I say Ireland. They're not mutually exclusive.

I'm protestant, and i would state myself as irish, or Northern irish. Yet having said that, I'm also a british citizen. So at times, i don't know whether to say i'm irish or british. It can be confusing at times.
