  • RIP DISNEY CHANNEL

    RIP NICKELODEON

those channels r dead now :(

  • For a minute, I was seven years old again. Thanks for uploading!

  • Used to Really Love The disney Channel back in the day. Used to have have someone for everone not just kids the whole family really. First Started watching back in the day on my Familys old C-Band Big Sat Dish In the late 80's. It was really great then. They used to have a good mixture of old and new disney.Don't have a proably with new stuff either just think they need to bring back the old mixture of classic disney shows and movies with new.

  • WTF HAPPENED TO THE REAL DISNEY CHANNEL?!!!

  • I know that the majority of everyone here loved the 90s, but for me what i feel as the only good thing in the 90's were the low gas prices.

  • Guys, I agree that the new disney is HORRIBLE, but Phineas and Ferb is pretty good.

  • I don't understand what happened... why did Disney channel change so mush... it SUCKS now....

  • Oh gosh, what HAPPENED!!!!???

  • OMG what the fuck happened? now they are trying to become Mtv and try too hard to appeal to a "teen audience"

  • I loved the promos back then, and the announcer. The ones they have today are just loud non-stop screaming.

  • omg////////////////////////////////////////

  • zomg, i remember this :]

  • Someone should make a support video for the old disney channel shows and then send me the link and i'll post a video response support video and maybe if we all do it, we can get the older better shows at least back on the air and get the new crappy ones off the air or on at like 4,5, or 6am

  • what happened, they don't even mention any original disney stuff its all teen crap

  • Disney Channel, I remember watching this when I was at Disneyland in 1991, great shows where it was aired and now, Iwish that the people of Disney/ABC Cable Group to create a 24/7 retro Disney Channel that shows classic TV shows and movies made by Disney and today's Disney Channel is completely garbage now since they are a 'Tween'-oriented channel today, we should write to the people at Disney/ABC Cable Group to launch a 24/7 retro Disney digital cable channel, do you all want to watch it??

  • Knowing i was boring 1986,Seeing these old promos from the late 80s and earliy 90s on YouTube makes me feal kind of old and also it's kind of sade how Disney channel now these days it's all about teens and mesages and when i was a kid Disney channel was about famliy and good story telling.

  • I was born in 1986 and we have vhs tapes of the original Disney channel shows .I have also seen the modern Disney early to late nineties it was still good about 2004 it got crappy, though I must admit,I do like a few of their shows like "Phineas and Ferb" and "JONAS" I am a classic disney channel girl at heart.

  • man everyone on heres saying that the "new" disney is crap

i agree with u on the hannah montana stuff

but that doesn't mean everything about the "new" disney is bad

but yeah the old one wuz rlly kool back then with those old cartoons

  • i remember back when disney was awesome with appealing shows like AoStH, rescue rangers, duck tales, etc. and if you didn't like it, they were cool, with it, and didn't shove up your ass and be a dick. now mickey mouse is for r-tards and 2 y.o.s along with being for pussys. damn i miss AoStH

  • Disney Channel Sucks Now.

    End of Story

    R.I.P. 1988 - 2003

  • @ViPxStAtUs I could not agree with you more. I miss the 90's so freaking much. Nothing is the same as it was during my childhood years...miss the innocence and the good times...

  • The new Disney channel sucks it's depriving kids of the classics,I teach at a elemantary school and it's hard finding movies for them cause all they want to watch is stupid popular movies . I can't watch old classics like :Rescue Rangers or any of that cause they whine and it doesn't have Hannah Montana or Zac Efron

  • That is why I could never teach, I would go ape !@#$ on the kids and get fired in a week.

  • Watch it anyway!

Seriously though, at least Mickey appears SOMEWHERE on the channel. I grew up as more of a Looney Tune fan, and it's been at least five years since those cartoons aired ANYWHERE with the exception of an occasional special or marathon.

But I agree on the whole and wouldn't mind at least seeing a blend so one could do an actual comparison.

  • @Narnialover4 I would have just put these classic shows on anyway, and I'd throw in some Looney Tunes (even though it's back on CN) and old Disney cartoons too, they have been part of American culture since the 20s/30s! Heck they've entertained people for at least 4 generations, if kids actually see these classics, they probably would enjoy it too. I think elementary schools should dedicate an hour for kids to show these classics, at the rate TV has been going since 2005.

  • @Narnialover4 You don't sound like a teacher lmao you must be a old, saggy bitch who thinks shes all that. Don't even reply back because If I see a reply from you, I will delete it quickly, i won the battle bitch :P

  • This is really a good memeory

  • aw disney used to be awsome. what happend?

  • Does Disney EVER use Ludwig Von Drake anymore? I am completely disgusted by Disney Channel now and also for turning Toon Disney into "Disney XD" in February.

But I'm very pleased with Disney's features now that John Lasseter is in charge. I really believe that he's changing things for the better and that his involvement in their films is helping them turn out good.

So while Disney television is being left to rot, at least theatrical Disney is turning around.

  • Educational cartoons? Dr. Seuss specials? and classic Disney shorts from the 1930s & 40s. My grandparents, parents and I watched those, but not my 8 year old nephew. :-( In 1988, Disney showed "Duck tales", "Rescue rangers", "Gummi Bears" and "Wuzzles" also on the big 3 networks for free when Disney was a premium service. Yeah, the Disney channel was more interesting to watch in '88and the current Disney of 2008 took the same path MTV stopped being an all music video cable channel.+

  • Hoober bloob. LOL! I was born in '93 so idk what this is lol.

  • What the hell was "Hoober-Bloob Highway" all about anyways? I didn't understand it when I was a kid and I remember humming that theme song over and over again... I don't miss that... But, I do kind of miss the old disney channel shows before "Hannah Montana" took over....

  • That last statement is perhaps the best comment on the "old" vs. "new" Disney Channel I have ever seen, and this is from someone more familiar with the "modern-era" version.

Does anyone currently running the network have any inkling of what the word "balance" means?

  • Old disney was the ish!!

  • Are you saying its SH*T, are you kidding me. The new disney channel sucks (BAD). With all there musical shows, thats all they got on now, its so annoying. abought 4 years ago, it was so much better, cartoons, everything, now its all drama SH*T.

  • By me saying it was the ish!! I am saying it was the best!!

and I agree with you new disney sucks.. I feel sorry for this generation that has to grow up with that garbage

  • wish i wwas born then im only 10 and i got diney in 2006 but i did see disney everyday at my friends house after nurshry and i watched winny the pooh the good old disney:)

  • wow...

  • what happened to talespin

  • A SYMPOSIUM ON POPULAR SONGS 1962

  • Disney Channel used to be so good now all they play is Zack and Cody and Hannah Montana and they were good but now they are corny

  • I spotted one of the cavemen from Toot, Whistle, Plunk and Boom at 0:27.

  • nickelodion and cartoon network is better than disney channel

  • no way disney chanel's waaaaaay better i bet you're the only one who thinks it's crap

  • Man! I was a year old when this was stuff on!!

  • I sometimes wonder "What the hell happened to the good, ol' Disney Channel I grew up with?" >.>

  • i dont no

  • Disney invented the "Zoog". All hell broke loose. Mickey and the gang were confined to the "House of Mouse" and "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse". Walt Disney committed suicide--- in his grave!

  • this one is boring

  • We use to watch this stuff in elementry school during lunch in the cafiteria/auditorium on rainy days. It made you not feel bad it was raining - and I'm talking in from 1999-2004. They kept with the classics...good times!!!

  • loved ludwig. hilarious, but insightful. making learning fun.

  • yeah i never saw these because i was born in early 95 but i kinda remeber this but i really watch nickoleoden alot when i was little but i did watch disney

  • i was born in the 90's..92' ... so i never actualy saw these shows. actually i haven't noticed. i been watching nickolodeon all my life,..nickoloden was pretty popular i guess..and the ' new school ' disney channel. but im watching these videos on here and i t hink they are pretty cool.. like MMC, im watching that on youtube it looks cool

  • I like the old disney channel better but I still like todays disney channel.High school musical is very fun to watch.I just wish that they wouldnt milk high school musical by turning everything into the movie.

I wish they would mix the old shows with the new

  • AMEN henaheypeter !,

By the way, Do you Remember when The Magical World of Disney Now The Wonderful World of Disney use to Do Disney Theme Park Specials for Disney Channel?

  • Yes i do.Thoughs were fun to watch. They could do that today as well and have deffrent specials of the park with the diffrent Disney channel stars as well as other celebs touring the place.I also remmeber they had deffrent christmas specials like the bing crosby christmas special.

  • EXACTLY henaheypeter!!!!! Honestly, I just wish that they could bring back The Mickey Mouse Club and start back passing on the Disney Traditions that Disney itself started. Unfortunatly for now, You have to go to the parks to experience any portion of that.

  • I'm afraid Disney may never change. The only way you could fix it is to become president of the company.

Or you could write a petition, have at least 50 million disguntled viewers like yourselves sign it, then send it to Disney.

    I'd sign it!

  • disney channel was the best in the 90's-original and classic. the last of this great era ended with lizzie and even stevens i believe. everything after that is trash.

  • I agree!

  • disney channel was great from 1983-1996 because it was the original premium disney channel, it was still okay from 1997 until september 2002 because they had vault disney, but now disney channel really sucks bad, i wish they had a disney channel for classic shows

  • your right and nick used to be good as well but they fucked it up i need to bring bak the old shows

  • I mean, there's a lot of creativity novv-a-days, but back then, it vvas more imaginative out of space another dimension type of feel; u knovv vvhat I mean? It vvas more fairy-talish but more lively. It's hard to even be able to vvatch cartoons, EVEN ON CABLE novv-a-days. 80's to late 90's (lates probably 98, very very very fevv good ones after that). BRING BACK THE CLASSICS!!!

  • i was born in the 90's. so i never actualy saw these shows. actually i haven't noticed. i been watching nickolodeon all my life, and the ' new school ' disney channel. but im watching these videos on here and i t hink they are pretty cool

  • Same here. I was born in 1994, but when we're younger, we watched all the "little kid Disney" and the "little kid Nick" and well, I never really watched Vault Disney. I was into Nick then.

  • I was born in 94 too, I was into Cartoon Network mostly.

  • Me too! I was born in 94, and as an only child, watching T.V. was a favourite pastime of mine =] but I was more into classic movies 9disney0 but then around, i dunno, maybe five? i became obsessed with CARTOON NETWORK! then I remember when I was about, like, eight, my friend started talking to me about this show I had never heard of, and I watched it, then started to love disney. Of course, I eventually later on left Lizzie McGuire, lol.

  • Yeah, that's exactly like how I was. I started watching disney when I was like 8,9. Man I have so many of those old disney movies when it was hand drawn.

  • me too! The Little Mermaid is still one of my favourites

  • LOL, me too. I would come from school, and get ready to watch ed edd n eddy, i loved that show. Oh the good all times. =)

  • i wuz born in 94 too

cartoon network ruled back then in the 90's and early 2000's

but now it rlly rlly sux bad

i don't watch it that much anymore

  • Oh my goodness, you and me BOTH! What the heck happened to that channel?? I literally grew up on good ol' shows from both The Disney Channel and Nickelodeon, both from before they became nothing to see. :(

  • I, too, have LUDWIG'S THINK TANK on tape! It's one of my favorite cartoon's! Also, the voice of Ludwig is done by Wayne Allwine. (The current voice of Mickey Mouse)

BRING BACK OLD SKOOL DISNEY CHANNEL!

  • Ludwig's think tank looks awesome.

  • I miss the old Disney Channel. It ran so much stuff that wasn't Disney, and was really good. It was a good place to see obscure and/or foreign cartoons...

  • And don't forget all the good classic Disney stuff either...

  • I remember all of this growing up. It brings back so many memories!

  • The Hoober-Bloob Highway!! I remember having that on video. Such memories...

  • I HAVE It on Videocasette!

  • Whoever sacked Roy Disney from Disney is a bastard. And if I'm cursing that way, whoever he is must be REAL bad.

  • for your info, this is DISNEY not DISNEY CHANNEL. they both produce very different things. hello! High scbool musical, beauty and the beast? hsm is a disney channel movie not a DISNEY movie. all that mickey mouse stuff you're talking about is from DISNEY not disney channel. disney is more of a movie producer than series producer. hello, the new movie when the cartoon / real life mixed together.. 4got the name.

  • Disney Channel was awesome with those shows... now it's all like tween "comedy" and High School Musical.

  • I vividly remember all those commercials on the Disney Channel announcing the days and times of upcoming showings. That particular show The Booper Bloob Highway or however it is spelled I remember watching that too on the DC. I sure do miss those good old days!

  • OMG WHAT HAPPENED TO THESE CARTONS!!!??? i hecka miss them!!!now on disney channel it barely realtes to disney channel =( these shows were even better than the old nick shows!(kinda0

  • the good old days.

  • Besides, let us 1980s kids who actually grew up on this stuff share our memories, you kids who grew up in the 1990s/2000s didn't grow up with this. You had the lame tween/teen garbage on now.

Screw High School Musical, overrated piece of shit, bring back Mickey Mouse!

  • The Disney Channel used to be great. Things need to change with time, but not so you lose what made you great in the first place. :)

  • razmatazz.....no, just no. Let us sentimental nostalgic people have our fun. We all know that it's probably just because we aren't kids anymore so we can't relate. But I really can't watch Disney channel anymore, it's too...I don't know. I guess I just wish I was five again and tomorrow I'd wake up to watch Ducktales or The Wuzzles. :)

  • I agree Cubbi! I miss the good old days of DC so much! The shows on there stink!

  • I don't Ludwig's voice sounds like Corey Burton in dis promo, it sounds like somebody else. Corey Burton's voice for Ludwig's was louder. NEway, that promo music in his ad wood lader B recycled into 1990 DSAS promo on "Disneyland Fun".

  • Your incorrect systemoperator that promo used the opening music to DSAS, the music in the promo was originally from the TV show "Kids is Kids" which I curently own on home video(picked it up at a clearence sale) and it would later be used on the promo where the professer meintiones volumes 1-9, but I agree that it doesent sound like Corey Burton doing the professers voice it must be somebody else, probably because he was busy at the time this promo was made!

  • Wl, promo sounds like music. Nevur new dat, B4. I wish I new who did professor's voice.

  • If I were to win the lottery, I would do everything possible to get The Disney Channel back on it's feet. Something like this cannot be ignored.

  • Let's hope you win. :)

  • The Disney Channel was absolutely awesome in the 1980s. It started sucking around 1994. Now the channel is completely unwatchable with this tween junk.

  • You wouldn't have the shows today if it wasn't for the shows back then. Think about it. Now fuck off.

  • your right I'm sorry. ok?

  • Dude, you are SO wrong. Kids would totally watch "that shit" today! When I went to see "Meet the Robinsons", and they played this 1938 Mickey Mouse cartoon right before the movie, all the kids in the theatre were laughing to almost no end. So you are wrong in saying they wouldn't like old Disney programming. And FYI, the only reason the old shows on Toon Disney get bad ratings is because Eisner put them in such lousy time slots.

  • Well that maybe so but disney's still not going to put black 'n' white cartoons on the air again. I'm sure they'll soon have some kind of channel (like boomerang but for disney) that'll show the old cartoons that you like. But they wont put it on the main channel.

  • @mike12jrw1111113

whats with the internet tough guy act

seems like your one of those brainwashed wind up toy people that repeats the same thing over again

  • ehh.. I am not in the mood for this back and forth reply shit. Ok you like these fucking shows? Well I don't. I think there extreamly boring. OH WELL! I'm brainwashed, my brain is squeeky clean. Im not a tough guy, yadi yadi yah. ok now go spark some other internet fight, your on a row..

  • whatever waste of time talking to you modern kids

  • ..you just called be a brainwashed wind up toy in your other post and i'm supposed to listen to what your ass has to say? If you wanted to try and talk to me with a fair aguement then don't do it disrespectfull. It's sad that a kid is telling a grown man this. Ok no more replys please.

  • Up your ziggy with a wawa Brush! This stuff is classic and you are a hairy bird and YOU ARE THE DEFINITION OF BORING! :)

  • Are you calling classic Disney programming "shit"? HOW DARE YOU! Besides, you can blame Bob Iger for the current manure they place on the channel.

  • No, I was mocking mike12jrw1111113; HE was the one calling the classic programming "that shit".

  • You're right,I showed some old classic disney movies to my pre-kindergarten and kindergarten class and they loved it

  • Making entirely useless internet posts is quite a hobby for you, isn't it?

  • You obviously have no taste.

  • Learn how to spell.

  • Who says it had to be either or? I'm mostly familiar with the current DC shows; but I would like to see the return of the older stuff if for no other reason than they need to mix the programming up a little.

  • No, the ratings would probably skyrocket if they brought the old stuff back. No matter how often you see it, "DuckTales" and its kin NEVER get old. I'll bet you're really an agent of Eisner brainwashed into thinking the Disney Channel is better now than before.

  • ...uuhh no, I'm not working for...eisner?

Think about it, do you really think kids these days would choose old winnie the pooh and mikey mouse cartoons over hanna Montana? Or suite life or whatevers on there today? You can't speak for todays kids because you aren't todays kids. Your complaining about the cartoons today and how the old cartoons were better. Well let the kids today enjoy todays cartoons so that they can complain about future cartoons and say how it was better "back then".

  • Actually, yes, kids these days probably WOULD prefer Pooh and Mickey over Suite Life and Hannah Montana! Isn't that why they have "My Friends Tigger & Pooh" and "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" on Playhouse Disney? And believe me, I care a lot about children, and I know well that shows of the past would be a better exposure than just having them watch today's shows and nothing but.

  • I play a little game with my little brother where I ask him "what

show do you like more this or that?" And when I asked them mickey mouse clubhouse or corey in the house they chose corey in the house. Kids just like that kind of stuff. I'm not saying the shows are bad, but it's just not what todays kids like, witch is why they give so little of those mickey or pooh shows as I mentioned before. If the mikey and pooh kind of shows got more ratings then they would give them more.

  • thats a disney movie, the game plan, thats a disney movie. NOT DISNEY CHANNEL. if you wanna see mickey mouse, go to toon disney or disney's kids in the morning or whatever.

  • Unfortunately, even Toon Disney has been disgracing themselves lately.

  • Unfortunately, even Toon Disney has been disgracing themselves lately.

  • Unfortunately, even Toon Disney has been disgracing themselves lately.

  • "it was MAD for TWEENS and TEENS!Not old guys."

Ah, so apparently anyone over the age of 17 is an "old guy".

    Nimrod.

  • Who the fuck was talking to you? Get the fuck out of here..

  • I am out of here, but everytime you people reply to me your bringing me back. Stfu, it's my opinion, there's nothing you can do to take that away from me. I know it hurts that everyone in the world doesn't have the same opinions as you but man the fuck up and let it go mmk?

Ghetto trash? Wtf are you talking about? Go sit in a corner somewhere please..

  • It's not always about ratings. Do high ratings make it a quality show? I would say a handful of shows on the Disney Channel are okay, but a lot of it is like sugar - they're wasted calories. It's like a teen version of Lifetime television - same old crap, over and over and over again. This ad on Disney from 1988 at least showed some fairly educational stuff that was fun to watch.

  • I agree. It's just that these kids are just angry because they never saw the Disney Channel before it started becoming "teenified".

  • it's so weird how stuff changes throughout 20 years...lol.

  • this is absolutly scary!

  • Who's doing the profressers voice?

  • Paul Frees, who also voiced Boris Badenov on Rocky and Bullwinkle.

  • are you shure his voice sounds different. I hate to argue with you, but it's prbably Corey Burton.

  • Ohhhh...you are right! This is a 1988 promo, so if this was made after 1986, it would be Corey Burton as Ludwig Von Drake. Paul Frees died in 1986.

  • I loved Ludwig's Think Tank! I think I still have it on tape!

  • Can You Upload Ludwig's Think Tank from Me.
