small crappie normally swim in schools and they eat up all the food in the area but if the small ones are fussy the big ones at the back that follow the school will need somthing to eat so once the small ones pass youl slam in to the big ones.
I made a video with my fish tv too and noticed the crappies seemed to lunge at the jig more when it was dropping down past them. They also seemed to give up on it pretty easy. If they missed the first try, they may try again, but most times gave up.
me too, if the fish aren't "on" the don't try too hard. also when in negative moods like this they tended to leave after even the smallest jig movements
Haha this exact thing happened to me i thought i was on the honey hole but they didn't want to bite

what color of jigs do crappies prefer? and tail?

I can't speak for the crappies but I prefer to run either a tube to imitate a minnow or a tiny rat tail to imitate an insect

Those were some fussy fish. They wanted nothing to do with your jig.

Hey, this is nothing new to me. Fish act like this everytime I go fishing. LOL
But I just have to ask, do you ever use live minnows on days like this?
oldgeezerman1 2 years ago 3
sometimes I will run the second rod with a minnow

I wonder if schools of fish go through periods of fasting, depnding on the position of the moon and the weather.
