You're absolutely right, Windows 7 does cost more than Mac OS X Snow Leopard....for Leopard users. Tiger users have to buy a full upgrade with the Mac Boxed Set. Windows 7 allows you to upgrade from Vista or XP.

I really don't know how people even compare GIMP and Photoshop. GIMP is image editing and Photoshop is that and web publishing software

How is photoshop a web publishing software? Yes, it can slice up an image and adapt the it for the web, but not publish it..

Photoshop can also make a HTML doc with the sliced image in a table structure (wich is very 90's).

But no publish..

I'm a hobby web designer. The 90's part is using the generated html table structure that photoshop can make. Using it for splitting images is great, but to generate code.

100% table built sites are dead, it's xhtml div tags with css positioning and styling thats standard today. If you don't believe me, go ask on a forum wich method is better.

Actually, it's a combination of both layers AND tables. What I meant, originally, was that Photoshop is geared more towards web publishers/designers, not people who just want to do image editing.  GIMP just isn't up to the task.

Nah, i don't see the use for tables when it comes to the site structure. Sure i would use a table inside of the "content box" to show information or whatever but not site structure. 100% css and xhtml, no use for tables other than showing info to the user.

I think, as far as tutorials go, that emeek should also focus on creating other tutorials based on programs that can be used in environments other than mac. Sure, he HATES windows, and still prefers OSX to linux for many reasons. But if he created tutorials on other paid and freeware programs like blender, autocad, gimp etc.. he would just gain a lot from that I believe.

so let me explain how tutorials work. someone knows a lot about a subject, and makes tutorials on that subject. if emeek knows how to use stuff on mac, THATS WHAT HIS TUTORIALS ARE ON. makes sense right, he doesnt give a shit if windows users come to him for advice, he makes tutorials on what he knows best, and ill be damned if he doesnt know how to do that stuff on mac. let people who need tutorials from windows get them from someone who is as good on windows as emeek is on mac

In my opinion, I would just like to see many other tutorials from him simply because other tutorials on utube, whether it be photoshop or houdini, are nowhere near as good as emeek's tutorials.

I admit, I hate his mac vs pc videos, how he rages on, swears, and curses about how mac's are the best thing ever!. A-lot of what he says is based on bias and not fact. He is entitled to his opinion though, and no matter what, he will always make the best, and most intuitive tutorial videos.

I second that. I watched one of the tutorials and it was fairly good. The only things that are idiotic are the Mac vs. PC videos. I'm a Linux user and I like OS X. Its the most user friendly BSD/UNIX out there. I just don't like the price and the fact that OS X is restricted to apple hardware or that they use DRM.

So as a personal choice I'll stick to Linux.

Your tutorials are generally very good, particularly with Shake and the FCS apps. Just make sure you reference the original source if your doing the same thing as another tutorial. Other than that hope your operation goes well.

macs are for beginners, professional audio editors/composers, and video editors. Although for video editing you have plenty of options on the PC, but Final Cut is really nice, and Final Cut Express i'd say is the best priced.
