I had heard it and sang it for years and then it dawn on me after taking the trip to Indy and seeing the homeless on the street around Christmas.. I hope we all realize How blessed we really are
That song was popular when I was a kid, and I love the two extra verses you've added to it. I remember that there was a blind man selling pencils who sat in front of the building where our then-dentist was located, and we would always stop to talk to him and give him some money. This song always reminded me of him!

i'm guessing Roy Orbison.
Willie Nelson wrote "Pretty Paper" and gave it to Roy Orbison, who had a big hit with it in 1964.

Pretty Paper was written by Willie Nelson and performed by Roy Orbison! So I guees I should have said you would make Willie and Roy Proud.
