Fantastic! Really good interpretation. The run at the end was a teensy bit messy, but all the other runs are fantastic. You play in such a clean and articulate style! Keep it up!
@murderXmeXsweetly You just have to practice very slow and then increase the tempo little by little :) I've learned 2 pages and I have 2 more.Good luck!
not a bad interpretation! i would pick up the tempo a little bit (but not too much), theres a little too much accent on the first beat in the bass, lighten up a little. and add a little more contrast in the dynamics, it has a tendency to kinda stay the same volume throughout. and break for just a few seconds right before the ascending arpeggio at the end. take this all in a good way, i like your playing! would like to hear the other 2 preludes! good job
Oh your in Jazz band? Lucky. Again, my MOM didn't let me be in jazz band because it "gets in the way of studying" >.>
Closest I played to anything Jazz is Joplin's Maple Leaf Rag. OMG now THAT's a fun song to play (especially when you play really really really really really really fast :DDD)
On first look the piece appears to be easy, but the tempo of this song gets me every time! I feel as though I have to play two completely different tempos for both the left and right hand.
Ahh. XD I don't know, I think I got used to the rhythm, because I've been taking jazz band for two years. I'm used to the different rhythmical feelings now. :D It's so fun though, and I love the different jazzy rhythms that Gershwin uses!
It's a little bit too slow, and off rhythm at places, but overall nice performance, very precise on the notes :)

c'est vraiment génial! c'est en effet la meilleure vidéo que j'ai entendu pour ce prélude.
Dorénavant, je le jouerai ainsi. Merci de m'avoir donné un peu d'inspiration pour jouer ce morceau.

the score has no break before the ascending chromatics at the end though. it's all up to interpretation = D

iinteresting, i have it in my score (two little slashes at the end of the measure). what edition do you have??
Doug19752533 2 years ago
by the way, on the recording Gershwin himself made, theres a break. this would indicate his intentions
