Song taken from the 1956 Lp "Rock and Roll Stage Show (The First Concept Album of the Rock History). The aim was to provide listeners with a taste of what a Bill Haley and the Comets show was really like. Opening with an instrumental, followed by a vocal number by Bill Haley, then another instrumental and then a vocal by Billy Williamson and the rest of the band.
Hey 78s4FR! Waddya mean this didn't chart; of course it did. Not as high as some of Bill Haley's numbers but it sure got there. Clone bands have been featuring it ever since. The 78 can be hard to find nowadays but fortunately I got my copy eons ago, along with the best of many, many bands and numbers from that era.
I always assumed this was released on the b side of one of their hits as other tracks from the Rock 'N' Roll Stage Show LP were, I'm amazed it never charted as it's one of the best tracks on the album.
Did Bill Haley ever have a dud track? I don't think so, this is another great one from Bill

Its a good song but it originally came out in the 1940s by Louis Jordan. Like most songs of the 1950s this was a white cover of a black song.
