You guys should SERIOUSLY try running the whole ACE2 Mod-Pack with it... It simply makes everything better Arma2 already has. And best ist, everything fits together. Once you played or trained with ACE, you'll never come back so stock ArmA2 ;-) If you also want hyper realistic Radio, Try ACRE-Mod too. Takes terrain into consideration for Radio strength and so forth. Check YT Vids.
MP Limit -> There is none ;-) ArmA always meant universal freedom in nearly every way. Only Hardware is the Limit.
As this video was posted on the Arma II community forums, I want to point out that the multiplayer part can handle way more than 16 players. Actually there is no limit, up to the point that the hardware cannot handle the network traffic anymore.
But for the rest: nice video for the newcommers to Arma II!
Usually Airsoft teams number between 7-15 players but if for instance….The USJTF hosted a joint Virtual training event from the information provided with your response we could field mock training exercises with 100+ players on a virtual battle space! What an outstanding tool for professional development!
Question Sir: Can you make maps based off of Satellite terrain to reflect fields we travel to go give us a “Virtual walkthrough” of what we can expect?
@FortPolkAirsoft In theory this is all possible. 100+ players requires very very strong hardware (if there is AI in the mission), so you might want to start with ~40. Maps out of sattelite data are possible for sure, but it requires some knowledge of the tools and game. On top of that it requires a LOT of time to populate the map with objects to make it lifelike. I suggest you visit community.bistudio.com for everything you want to know.
Once you start playing ArmA 2, you'll want to drive a Bradley M2 APC, then an M1A2 tank... and then pilot an Apache... and somewhere down the line you'll master the fighter jets & bombers. Problem is, you wouldn't want to go back to being a foot soldier ever again HAHA. #LOL
We've used the battlefield series in the past to teach ourselves our positions in the stack for CQB. Until a couple years ago we didn't have readily available access to a CQB environment. I do like the looks of ARMA II & I really like this video. Good work Brad.
@TheMAKOTeam Thanks man happy to help the Airsoft Community any way I can by arming them with the information that will be most useful. As you stated this gives teams and individuals the ability to perform tasks and training without the use of facilities and practice the fundamentals of good team training. It’s not a 100% solution as it will never replicate realistic field environments and application however it helps in terminal understanding.
I actually played the ARMA 2 just a few days ago and it definitely is not your run of the mill shooter. And if I recall correctly, ARMA was originally designed as a military training tool to some extent. It's a pretty sweet game and can be a pretty good training system if applied with the right mind set and application.
Ya he's coming home soon I talked to him everyday mostly

@FortPolkAirsoft yes this is absolutely possible

With Arma 2 basically everything is possible

@FortPolkAirsoft yes this is absolutely possible!
This is actually the procedure how most of the maps get created

One of the greatest things about ArmA II is that you can create almost any scenario your imagination can think up.
