  • I don't mind nvidia creating new technology, in fact, I applaud them for that and I respect them, what pisses me off is that they don't do it just for the technological advancement, they do it for the dough, it's not that ATI cards can't run these kind of features, they make it propieraty so they can sell more nvidia GPUs and create even a bigger circlejerk among their already annoying fanboys.

  • I already figured it out.... Thanks anyway!

  • Havok Pwns physx. Let's compare for example 2 games #1 with physx is Mafia 2 #2 with Havok is Dead Space 2. I get in mafia about 70fps (with it turned off lol), I get in dead space about 200 fps with the same card. Now since havok is not amd/nvidia only it's a win for everybody if it becomes the Base engine for all games. Physx is overrated and it's not even made by Nvidia

  • How do u turn physx off?

  • @MultiBigace #1 take your nvidia card out of the case

#2 carefully hit it with a hammer as hard as you can

    #3 get a ATI card

Or you could just disable it in the options menu of the game you are playing.

  • nvidia will you allow physx on the xbox360 cause im tired of non nvdia/ havok stuff

  • lol Physx was offered to ATI free they turned it down as first test theres cores were popping like corn.. Physx is more than just visuals.. it's used for AI, weapons physics movement, and weather ..

  • Havok pwnz physx , hl2 has havok and its ragdoll is just fine

  • its no problem to have this effects without physX.

  • PhysX can block your sight with fog and all that stuff flying around.

  • This is just like DX9 being "required" to render some Crysis graphical features. Only that excuse fell through when info came out showing how to adjust the config file to get them enabled on XP w/ DX9 software and hardware.

Since all effects were seen years before- NVIDIA likely just paid for developers to lockout various effects unless NVIDIA drivers were detected.

Don't tell me my i7 w/ 5850 can't handle fog and smoke from guns (like every other game allready had).

    Paid to lockout 1/2-crap

  • The On version is a bit nicer, but given that I've seen every one of those effects on titles years before, on both NVIDIA and ATI cards 2+ generations ago without physx, it seems likely that NVIDIA sponsored development in return for developers locking out various features by default, with only NVIDIA drivers allowed to access them (just like Crysis graphic-features locked out of DX9 cards despite no technical barriers)

This isn't a feature so much as it is paying to lock out 1/2 the audience.

  • phyx on = more noise & crap floating around...better to leave it off lol

  • @9578755 PhysX is a physics engine. It depends on how the developers use it. Mafia 2 = Good use of PhysX. Sacred 2 = overused PhysX. Get your facts straight.

  • Barely noticeable differences in all scenes but two, where ash and leaves were floating around. Physx was not utilized well here. In fact, I'm a bit disappointed to see such powerful hardware being wasted on controlling predominantly fluids (not only in this game, but most other boasting to have physx). I hope hundreds of thousands of dollars for research weren't spent just to make water look cooler (and it still looks like mercury in most games, as another poster commented).

  • bwahahahah what a crappy game

  • ...HAWOK....

  • Ridiculous effects, all effects already seen in several games, ai deactivated and placed extra.

    Unfortunate.

  • hmmmmmmmmmmm

  • 1. OFF

    2. ON

    3. ON

    4. OFF

    5. OFF

    6. ON

    7. OFF

I will play the game without PhysX :D

  • Physics in games is for interaction of the player and the environment .... this movie shows a lot of "pure physics" but that is nothing to do with the player..... no "interaction" at all

  • 1:12

dont get me wrong but i like the physX off because all the other stuff is easier to spot but still have to admit that physX look more realistic

  • nice!

  • EPIC FAIL!! this barely has anything to do with physics..its mostly all particle systems going on

  • So particle physics doesn't have anything to do with physics, huh?

  • your comment is EPIC FAIL!!

  • LOL 1st Low Details 2nd High Details :/

  • it's not wattch video in hd, they same quality=)

  • This game needs soft particles...

  • As much as i love nvidia physx i dont like the fact its proprietary. I want too see DirectX or a new language created which enables physx no matter what card you use.

  • @hord lol then how would they make money, its a business, they aren't going to allow their competitors to use their technology. that would be moronic :)

  • Except some deaths look like ragdolls full of air.

  • Cool, especially if you're into realistic and good.

  • Nvidia is da shit, plain and simple. been using NV since around 96

  • Never heard of this game but it looks pretty cool with PhysX.

  • That's why i love Nvidia!

  • Yep, the way it's meant to be played.

  • true
