  • freaking dutch operator.

  • Hello,

When you QSY a few Khz, how long does it take to retune?

  • @demysaid

or a few kc/s you don't have to retune.

more than abt 10 kc/s it takes a couple of seconds to put on a carrier and push the up or down fine tune buttons.

    i would say 5 secs.

  • ...and, where is antenna ?...hi. Of course, magnetic loop is altogether good antenna.

  • I did see these being made at the MFJ plant on a tour this week. Richard from mfj was very helpfull and the antenna is very well made! It is like the strongest antenna I have ever seen... Jimmy:)

  • I was ready to give up operating since power line noise was so severe. A friend brought over a Flex Radio 5000A and absolutely no noise when the Noise Reducer was turned on. I now own a Flex Radio 5000A.

  • Very Good. How big was that loop?

Was that the MFJ loop or did you improvise? Again good show.

  • Serieus bezig hier. Ga zo door!

  • Hello I am vy interested abt this antenna but does it really eliminates QRN(NOT QRM) from electrical motors/power lines etc?

  • Hi Nik,

the antenna does great on QRN, i used it in a appartment and found it very quiet on manmade noise from lightdimmers etc.

  • Vy tks dr Bart I will consider strongly to buy one cause I have extreme qrn (9 s units +) in all bands + 6m due to nearby power lines so my only solution apart from making lawsuits against the company is to go and buy this nice antenna!

  • I'm thinking of getting an MFJ Mag Loop that operates 40m to 15m bands and replace my dipole antenna.

How do you find the MFJ performance? I seem to get a lot of QRM here S7 often and heard these antennas will reduce QRM significantly. Often HF is useless here due to the noise. If these antennas are as good as they seem, I want one!

I would love to hear more about this antenna and how well it works compared to dipole antennas. Also info on QRM reduction would be great.

    Cheers

  • Thanks for the Demo -

By looking at the MFJ meter it looks like that you are running more than 100 watts into the loop.

Is this true, does the loop handle more than 100?

    Thanks

  • Hi,

we were running 99 watts as you can see on the display of the radio.

    cu Bart

  • he forgot the "low range meter", as you can see the button is not pressed.... ;-)
