PJ played this in New Orleans during the Riot Act tour. I have the bootleg.....it was soooo freaking good!!!! I saw them live a few days later in Atlanta, they played Present Tense. I also bought that bootleg and get chills everytime I hear it. That particular show was off the hook! PJ gives you everything they have at every show. They are the best band of the last 20 years for sure and Ed is one of the best vocalists ever! It is just my opinion of course but it happens to be true... :)

I personally love the fact that Eddie Vedder chose to say "boyfriend" in the song rather than refer to a girlfriend when everyone knows he's straight. It's a simple play on stating it doesn't matter who you are in this country, you deserve to have the equal rights that our Bill Of Rights has given us. The song was written by Steven Van Zandt and says "I ain't no democrat, I ain't no republican" and is a statement about doing what is best for the country rather than blindly following a politcal party. When Eddie says " I sure ain't no fucking republican", he is making his own politcal leaning clear versus sticking to the true spirit of the song. This is not a freedom of speech issue at all as you seem to imply because I did not say he didn't have the right to do it.
