  • I love this song

  • Hahaha this song came in my mind when i played a horror game called "Amnesia: The Dark Descent" when the protagonist said "Itäs like orpheys descending into the underworld" when he was traveling with his companion Baron Alexander under his castle

  • I wunder how the tempo and mood would look in a room full of rap junkies if you played this good stuff

  • C'mon boys...lets get the blood flowing while we still can..

  • my granny was 4 when the titanic sank

  • Hi,

Sorry to only now be getting back to you. I didn't know anyone had responded. Anyway, yes, that must have been it. Thank you!

  • @Simonmordeci,

Do you mean the barcarole? It's by Offenbach

  • Great Song! What is the name of the song in the scene where Thomas Andrews is in the 1st Class Lounge alarmed at why people are not on the boat deck getting in the lifeboats. The steward asks him "Care for a drink sir?" Anyone know?

  • @Keepgreen731 You'll find it on here...called "Alexander's Ragtime Band".....maybe you can help me with one....I think it was later in the movie when Andrews asked Lightoller why he was launching the boats nearly empty.....there's a scene there where people in the boats were looking back at the ship and you can hear just a few bars from something the band was playing, but I can't identify it.. Know what I'm talking about?

  • 2 people sank with the Titanic

  • Apparently, this piece was no longer considered scandalous by 1912, and was worthy of being played by the band on what was supposed to be the best ship on the planet in that year. Less than 20 years before then, "Orpheus" was considered highly-scandalous because of the one association that it has to this day, and that is to the French cancan dance, which itself was considered very scandalous in the high-Victorian 1890s.

  • music to drown to, now i know i'm in first class

  • @GeneralOlszewski Close it's "Music to drown by"

  • @SSPoseidon846 thought it was lol, oh well :P

  • "Music to drown by now i know i'm in 1st class"

  • Who's the performer of this version?; Also, where did you get the album art?

  • beautiful

  • i had to play this in my orchestra.(:

  • My old art teachers grandfather was sceduled to go on this band, but he was to be wed and didnt go and it saived his life!

  • @thetitanicisdead

Thats not neccessarily a good thing. Even 100 years on, the names of the Titanic band are as famous as they were in 1912, and will continue to be for centuries to come. They are now immortal. But instead of this, your teachers grandfather is known only by his family and will be forgotten in around 30-40 years time. And he would have had to live through the most destructive time in human history, WW1 and perhaps WW2. I would have opted for Immortality...
