  • To those who think it's right to make fun of child abuse, or go so far to troll: I worked for Barnardo's as a Saturday volunteer in my teens, and I find your comments quite abhorrent to read. Maybe if it happened to you you'd think twice before posting your small minded comments, or being a part of today's Daily Mail society, where there are children who lack the basic needs to survive and you don't support them one iota.

If you really think you're clever, go and read Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs.

  • That makes me cry evry time I watch ti

  • I know lots of adults say that kids are a disgrace, robbing, abusing ,having underage sex, robbing, drugs, etc but the kids who do don't get this from no where. They get it from the adults.

  • @LinkinParkRulez1231 a woman with a bucket asked me for money for a dying girl to go on holiday with her mum. i said no thanks, and she wouldnt leave me alone, making feel i was being cruel to a dying little girl if i didnt give her money.

basically using emotional blackmail to get cash. i told her that it wasnt right that she use these techniques, she denied it, and stormed off in a bad mood.

bunch of cunts, i hate people asking for money in the street.

  • barnardos are horrible emotional blackmailers

after something one of their workers did to me yesterday, i will never give them a penny again. im also going to tell as many people as i can about what happened.

  • @mikesomething what did they do ?

  • @bestasmin emotional blackmail

they just want money to pay for their own fucking jobs

if u want to help people in need, lend out ur money to people in the third world through micro finance companies. its the best way u can get ur money to actually help people. they can then start small business, improve the local economy, and as a result everything will improve. health, education, hunger, the lot.

    stay away from these fuckers

  • @BunnyRabbit215 Same except we didn't run and a kid in my form donated £5

  • @VickzaLovesYou Glad to know some people of my age group can talk about more important things than make perverted jokes and stereotypical comments.

  • The one where it says I am going to be a prostitute is kinda funny but still very powerfl.

  • why doesn't anyone wanna grow up to be a corrupt politicains with thier pig snouts in the public trough and handing out jobs to all thier friends ???

  • If only these kids knew what was written about their future,...lool

  • i think the message of the video is important, i.e. the bad things done to kids and/ or the good things withheld from them, destroy their future/potential.

i do worry however about using real kids, who of course weren't told about the subtitles added later... they could have easily used life-like cartoon or animation characters. Would have been just as powerful and less abusive of the children who were literally used to create the ad. So in a way, I am quite angry.

  • Meh, theres shock tactics for you, you need to stare deep into the eyes of a real child so the message grinds right into your skull

  • Why? As you said, they were not told about the later subtitles, so it would not be scary or traumatizing for them in the least. They are acting and saying things normal kids do, so why is it any worse than a cookie commercial for them?

  • the boy at the end actually looks like a molesterer already looool

  • what a horrible ad and how can you say that the wee boy will abuse his kids is this cos his father abused him well sorry that does not ALWAYS happen cos if it did there would a lot more kids in the care system than what there is the now.

NOT all kids from deprived areas go on to be what you have put.

Think of the positives in kids not the negatives.

  • Its true. Some kids rise above their surroundings. However, I would rather help these poor babies than leave them to try to fend for themselves. I do not think this ad was wanting us to think of the negatives in kids, I think they did want us to think of the positive things that they could become with a little assistance.

  • CHILD ABUSE CHILD ABUSE CHILD ABUSE CHILD ABUSE CHILD ABUSE CHILD ABUSE CHILD ABUSE CHILD ABUSE CHILD ABUSE CHILD ABUSE CHILD ABUSE CHILD ABUSE CHILD ABUSE CHILD ABUSE CHILD ABUSE

Barnardos have a really bad track record.

  • hw can i get this

  • it's ust so sad, god, so sad..

we'll have to analyse this campaign 'stolen shildhood' in our media exam, i swear it's hard already looking at those posters with their old faces..

if it's hard for us. imagine how hard it is for them.. what do they feel, how do they survive? poor children.

  • I remember the poster campaign. One day in 2002, our English teacher (who was an active member of Amnesty International) stopped the entire lesson to have an hour-long discussion on the issue. He was great.

Yes, a very hard-hitting, but important campaign, thank you.

  • Great message , touching !

  • that shits scary

  • why? Really?
