One of the best children's horror writer.

  • That is one "ultra" video. =p

  • wow. inspirational...

  • he was and still is my hero.. he got me into horror at a young age and i have been a scare fan since

  • Srsly, Stine has a lot of great ideas and his books are great for kids and teenagers but I would love if he would writes just 1 book that has more than 200 pages and a deeper story with real character development and so on. Would be amazing.

  • @TheDarkDuck93 Haha I know I was thinking the same thing. I love his work, but his character are all flat, with sort of very basic story plot lines. Would like to see him do a totally different style that is more in depth sometime.

  • LOL, R.L Stine is awesome. No, I'm wiritng a novel lol. Nine years old

  • no entiendo a quin xuxa no le gusta ! :@

  • I love your books

  • dude, looks like he smoked a fat joint before he did this interview lol, loved goosebumps as a kid, really opened my imagination as a kid

  • NIce mole

  • It has nothing to do with this, but there were some books that creeped me out, and when they were adapted into the TV episodes, they didn't. Sometimes it would be the other way around (like with How I Got My Shrunken Head). Other times, it would be the same, where the book AND the TV episode would make me jump and sometimes outright scream (I'm looking at you, Werewolf of Fever Swamp.)

  • Im a big fan! am addicted to RL STINE books! thumbsup!

  • my favourite books from RL Stine are: Dangerous Girls and the Taste of Night

  • he's a jew

  • The goosebumps 2000 series was short, but good. The horror land series was most likely the downfall of Goosebumps. But he is making more, I think. Fear Street was the scariest of all his series due to it being targeted to Teenagers.

  • please can you put the other parts of the basement do not get goosebumps series thank you very much ...

  • goosebumps never get old no matter what age

  • power rangers yeah

  • is r l stine jewish he looks jewish

  • from 2nd grade to 5 grade, goosebumps is like the bible

  • @phoenixjr33 When I was in 7th grade I still liked them a lot!

  • Me and my friends use to do comics... that's it I'm becoming a comic book writer and artist and will be come super loaded.

    :D

  • 4 mil. books a month??? he must be SO loaded....

  • This guys is so awesome! Nobody writes horror for kids any more! I'm being serious, in Britain, no garbage pail kids, no empire state building, no horror for kids! But his guy brought me a big bowl of horror and it tasted like a slice of awesomeness! I'm getting three of his books, one is say cheese and die screaming. Great cover

  • @IDaChosenUno yh everyone in my class read his books back at junior school. his books were so exciting to read at that age :)

  • Old typerighter in the attic! Reminds me of a couple of his books!

  • There was only one book I liked in my life (White Fang) until I read his books. It's amazing, I'm not really a big reader, but I can't stop reading his amazing books. He is the best writer that ever lived, and I thing that kids all around the world will remember him life 4 ever. =)

  • i always read this books especially in elementary but now he has books for Young Adults

  • I remember being in Elementary school and Always being excited to get another goosebumps book like every 2 weeks.

:) I think I read All the goosebumps books they had in my elementary school library and some fear streets. xD

  • i used to love his fear street collection...which was the teenage version of goosebumps lol.

  • Those stories aren't real? D':

    lol

  • Hey, I'm 17 and a half and I'm still readin' them!

  • @nickelback12345670 No shame in that. I'm 24 and I still read 'em from time to time.

  • @nickelback12345670 man I can't wait for the remakes of these books!!!

  • This guy is the reason why I started reading. I loved his books s a kid. I must have read Night Of The Living Dummy II about fifty times lol,

  • Had this dude botox in his face?

  • this guy is my hero lol

  • He is so inspirational. I wrote stories when I was younger but never finished them...but after watching this maybe I should..:) <3 R. L Stine!

  • Word of mouth is always the greatest promotion for anything.

  • Better than Shakespeare.

  • @Pogogacy

Not really, but I understand the sentiment.

  • I love his books. I have such thirty pieces at home and borrow from many in the libaries. I just think genail. I hated to read before. but then I have given my parents even a book from that of the hies

"In the house of the witch, " and I thought that was so super that I then bought several. Now I read a thin book at least a week and two weeks a thicker book.)

    =)=)=)=)

  • Goosebumps was my childhood. Now they have this iCarly bullshit making me glad I was born when I was!

  • man i remember reading his books and i would read books that was part of my home-work then this i would read for fun i liked the ones that you finish the page then at the bottom you had the option to go to a different page for a different ending it was the best different endings it was the best

  • hes my inspiration

  • so this is what rl. stine looks like lol

  • you are a genius! thanck you!

  • I just to pass hour and hour day dreaming with your stories as a kid... thank you for all those wonderful moment as a kid.

  • These books used to be all that I read back in elementary school, where I signed them out of the library. I couldn't even tell you how many times I re-read my favourites. It's no surprise that I'm such a huge Stephen King fan now.

  • WOW COOL MAN

  • ahh the 90s those were the good ol days, going to school reading goosebumps munchin on cornnuts playing sonic the hedgehog and mortal kombat, watching mighty morphin power rangers, trading, collecting pokemon cards, its like a really good dream .

  • i read goosebumps that is like the only thing i read i am not kinding i love them right now i am reading ghost beach i am on chapter23 i think i love it i hope u r still righting them love, allison please right back

  • I bought a copy of his autobiography "IT CAME FROM OHIO!" He tells us these stories and lots of others. He tells us he wanted to write comedy--and he had a nice career with it. But until he started doing horror, (like "Fear Street") he wasn't really known. Well, he did good for "Eureeka's Castle." But I though his "Fear Street" worked best.

The funny thing is he does look kind of creepy, doesn't he? More so than Stephen King. Hey, how IS his adult stuff?

--Love For R.L. Stine, Dane Youssef

  • Read them all when I was younger.

  • This guy is an absolute legend!

  • @JMBoote1 yea he is a legend, i read most of his books when i was little and they weren't boring

  • R.STINE IS SO GOOD I READ 6 OF HIS BOOKS RL STINE KEEP UP WITH THE GOOD WORK I AM READING LEGEND OF THE LOST LEGEND

  • Favorite RLStine book.......

    All of them XD

  • R.L stine = one of the coolest and smartest people ever! and aurthors

  • @7SEVEN7SEVEN7SEVEN7 Smartest and coolest? Your really overreacting. Try to be realistic, he IS great but still... That just sounds childlish

  • @Horrorlord1 ummm its an opinion and he is a very intelligent cool adult how is this childish i think your childish for that ignorant comment.

  • @7SEVEN7SEVEN7SEVEN7 Ha ha! Troll, you have fallen right into my trap by responding! I was bored so I made your tiny little brains angry! *maniac laugh*

  • @Horrorlord1 sometimes i like to eat dogfood

  • @uguysarefried Interesting... Which producer?

  • his real name's BOB

  • @nicoole818 Thats his pen name, His real name is Robert.

  • @nicoole818 Robert L. Stein.

  • R.l Stine= The Stephen King for children!

  • @morikahjo Only R.L. Stine is a hell of a lot better at twist endings.

  • @inuysha360 SAME!!

  • Comment removed

  • witch maybe it is

  • sir you sound like writing it was for you

  • < < i wanna terrify kids

  • I LOVE HIM, He put the LOVE in BOOKS. R.L STINE <3

  • @TheSvartdemon I know! I read one of his books and I got a million ideas in my head.

  • this man is amazing i was a big fan of his books and still am i watch them all the time on YouTube and i used 2 cheak them out of te library

  • Its cool to see one of my favorite childhood authors speak! I always like to know the person behind the books I read

  • At first I COULDN'T STAND HIS BOOKS so one day I was bored and I decided to read The curse of camp cold lake and I got hooked! I read almost everyone! So anyways do you have the curse of camp cold lake movie? Just wondering! That's my favorite one!

  • One thing i found out about his books is that the protagonist is moslty always 12 years old! every book ive read so far has the main character as 12 years

  • HE ROCKS RIGHT NOW I AM READING GOOSEBUMPS HORRORLAND WEIRDO HLLOWEEN AND IT IS AWSOME AND FREAKY

  • r.l stine rocks

  • I always wanted to go outside and play but my parents always stopped me and told me it is dangereous, DUCK!! I AM A BOY FOR ALBERT EINSTEIN'S SAKE!!!

  • I love goosbumps! i would get sooo scared when my sister would read them to me!

  • God I grew up watching goosebumps! I started reading them in kindergarden! love it!! (18 now)

  • I'm now 20 years old and i still enjoy watching the episodes of Goosebumps

  • This guy is a genius! As a 90's kid and a teenager now, I still proudly admit to being a huge fan. And not many things are more fun than Goosebumps marathons this time of year. :)

  • Hee hee, Bob.

  • He sounds kinda like Ben Stein

  • Ahhh, the 90s...

  • It's to bad this guy didn't write more mature books. He could've been so much better if he wrote children and adults books.

  • @ABoredGreaser CHECK OUT FEAR STREET, its for people 14-19 there great books. Go look them up!

  • @MegaRandom4ever I'll do that.

  • @ABoredGreaser he didnt really want all the fortune from his writing he just wanted to write the stories. and i think he was assisting someone with a more mature novel but im not sure what its called

  • @ABoredGreaser Yea but what if the kids stumbled upon his name on the adult books and read it.

  • @demonjack123 Good point, but still. It's a shame such great talent was limited to that.

  • @ABoredGreaser Well he doesn't seem to mind it at all. But an example to my point is Jhonen vasquez when he made invader zim, kids looked up his named and found Johnny the homicidal maniac comics that were made by him. Or it was the gore he did in one ep.

  • @sexychr every year on cartoon network on October

  • I like his Fear Street

  • He does not no how much his book called ''ghost in the mirror'' scared me.I was 10 when i read it(im 13 now) and i couldnt sleep for a week.I was 2 scared that a snake with a human head would pop out of my dresser.I wasnt allowed to read gooesbumps but i got it anyway at my school library.my mom caught reading it at like 3:00 in the morning when she walked in my room.I sceamed to the top of my lungs!

    P.S. I LOOOOOVVVVEEEEE THIS MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The reason Goosebump books sold so well, was because the covers were always creepy and interesting, not to mention the title would always make you want to read and find out what happens in the story, or what the big mystery was, I grew up in the rise of video games, yet reading Goosebumps books was just as important as beating that stage on Mario World.

  • i never knew he had books called the HorrorLand series... all the series i knew that he made were Goosebumps and Fear street :o

  • @rsftwhehe Seriously? he did? wow I should start reading books again.

  • Ian just out of jail done six years for rape in Glasgow Scotland Barlinnie jail I spent most of the time behind bars reading Goosebumps books sent in by my nephew, the prison guards even took a shine to me after I lined him a book or 2

  • @markfoybhoy you raped someone? you fucking sick bastard!

  • @markfoybhoy Lol interesting.

  • I grew up buying his books at book fairs that our elementary school would have. i would have to agree that if it had not been for R.L. Stein I wouldn't have read as many books. I could read a whole Goosebumps book a hundred or more pages EVERY night before I went to sleep. I couldn't put them down. They were also affordable and I think that's what made the series a success.

  • RL Stine seems like a really nice guy but now that im older I guess I prefer books authors that are more serious like Stephen King. But ill never forget RL stine.

  • @Phenomanonn Well that's the point his books were made for kids so when you get older you can get into really good authors when you grow up.

  • goosebumps a fking awesome series

  • Goosebumps is the second best selling book series after Harry Potter. Twilight ain't even close!

  • Ahhhh i remember watching the tv shows and reading the books alone with paul jennings books......... good times....... never was scared though but good times

  • Twilight is probly one of the most selling books.. ehh wtf, fuck the twilight saga, goosebumps is what got all of us through book reports in school, got us to accually read and want more, and SCREAM OUR HEADS OFF for R.L.Stine.

  • @Alienzonlee twatlight is gay

  • @angelofdeathx9 AH HA duh??!!!

  • @DanceroidCPTV i wish they realesd the gold series man im 13 and love this series when i was seven my older cousin got me hooked now every hollaween i will wath the show with my dad and im trying to collect all of the GB series

  • Long Live R.L. Stine

Nobody will not uptop him in the goosebump series!

  • dude make more goosebubms man there amazin wish i had them all on dvd or 70 ov them

  • @sexychr he is making dvd's :] and cd's and games!!

  • @sexychr what about horror land

  • is there anyway theses are on the tv still ?

do you have to buy the dvds ov them

  • R.L. Stine sure has a gift for creeping out kids

  • He should be world famous. I know myself and so many others that learned to read through his books.

  • Thank you, R. L. Stine. Thank you for being the one writer to truly take it to the level of understanding of what is going on in the mind of a kid growing up in such turbulent times as the 1990s.

  • i was one of the kids who read like all of the goosebump books at like 12 years old and they were like some of the best times of my life jusd readinq them 24/7 haha

  • R.I.P. RL STINE

  • @radioactivexkid You fucking asshole I almost shit myself when I read this.

  • @moonblaze1000 I thought he died?!

  • @radioactivexkid what.....? hes still making books in fact hes relesing the last 2 horror land books next year

  • Wow R.L stine is intresting

  • do you guys remember the goosebumps books where they were like little adventure for example "which way do you want to go, if you want to go left go to page 65", if you want to go right go to page 45" those books were awesome

  • make your books terrifying

  • R.L stine is the best

  • One of my favorite Goosebumps book is "Beast from the East" That story(specially the ending) disturbed me but didn't stop me from reading it like 4 times in a span of 5 years... :P

  • i have most of the books their awsome but its too bad the gold series u cant get

  • i love goosebumps books they don't scare me but they creep me out like he said.

  • @socks23456 R.L Stine has not passed away. He's still writing and will be release new HorrorLand books soon! Visit his site for more info: rlstine(dot)com

  • this guy reminds me so much of ben stein

  • @TheInkBat

    I've always though that too!

  • wen i was five thats the only book i would read but now iam 14teen

  • I love himm

    Especially his goosebumps books

  • I have all of my Goosebumps from when I was very young. Same thing with the Fear Street Books. I really don't want to ever give them away.

  • he's right about the "kids network" thats how i found out about the books, and then once i found out i'd show other kids and so on and so on.

  • if it weren't for him i probably never would have read books when i was a kid
