These police officers did their job. The child should have been wearing a helmet. It was awesome that they gave her one! From my personal experience, I have crashed my bicycle before, and my helmet saved my head from cracking open. A helmet may look silly, but it will save one's life! Great job officers!

I know there are cops that carry helmets for kids paid by the city and allot of times they give them out in poor neighborhoods which I don't mind as a taxpayer here in California but not all cities do this but glad that other states have this program.

As a member of New York State emergency services, it warms my heart to see ANY officials from ANY state act in a manner such as this. Being pulled over is scary enough to impart the message upon most people. Some situations deserve punishment, but it's best if we can resolve them peacefully.

These cops are great. It's too bad there are so many city cop DOUCHEBAGS that want to use the "my job is hard" excuse. My job is pretty hard too, but I don't use that as an excuse for half assing it! That is the part that I am proud of. Despite danger and difficult work, I still go above and beyond my job description. It's the kind of self discipline, pride, and strength of will that most people only learn in the military (unfortunately). Kindness is TRUE strength.

To write off all cops as bullies and egomaniacs is wrong, but it's just as wrong to ignore clear signs of danger, rather than correct things before it becomes a serious problem. My hats off to good officers who just want to serve and protect, but make sure you don't hurt yourself, defending some of your fellow officers that are crooked. You don't want to go down with them when they finally get what's coming.
There are alot of good cops out there but this cop works in a small quiet town along a beach. He doesn't have the high stress level that most other officers have working in big cities, worrying about being shot at, and having his head on a swivel.

He will give you the shirt off his back if he thinks you need it more. And he works in a VERY big city. THAT is true strength. If you can't handle being a cop in a big city, and NOT being a douchebag - then you are WEAK and should turn in your badge.

@danik077 Think about it this way if that kid wore her helmet all the time she would have a lower chance of getting hurt then when she is not wearing one. Right there that cop did a good thing and kept her safe, now what is the chance that if the cop wasn't there to do that for her that he would be somewhere else stopping a crime its probably extremely low. You should be happy for living in this country. Maybe if u did better in school you wouldn't have to cry about taxes.

@danik077 They are paid to PROTECT and SERVE... this falls under both categories. I would prefer them to "waste" 10 dollars protecting a girls brain. Then to waste our court time by giving them a ticket and not doing anything to get that girl a helmet to protect her head. Not only that, ticketing them would make more children despise the police then already do. Great job officers.

@ene777 I fully agree. Originally, when I saw the link to this video, I thought it'd be some conflict between citizen and officer, but I was pleasantly surprised. As a member of New York State emergency services, it warms my heart to see ANY officials from ANY state act in a manner such as this. Being pulled over is scary enough to impart the message upon most people. Some situations deserve punishment, but it's best if we can resolve them peacefully.

These cops are great. It's too bad there are so many city cop DOUCHEBAGS that want to use the "my job is hard" excuse. My job is pretty hard too, but I don't use that as an excuse for half assing it! That is the part that I am proud of. Despite danger and difficult work, I still go above and beyond my job description. It's the kind of self discipline, pride, and strength of will that most people only learn in the military (unfortunately). Kindness is TRUE strength.

To write off all cops as bullies and egomaniacs is wrong, but it's just as wrong to ignore clear signs of danger, rather than correct things before it becomes a serious problem. My hats off to good officers who just want to serve and protect, but make sure you don't hurt yourself, defending some of your fellow officers that are crooked. You don't want to go down with them when they finally get what's coming.

There are alot of good cops out there but this cop works in a small quiet town along a beach. He doesn't have the high stress level that most other officers have working in big cities, worrying about being shot at, and having his head on a swivel.

@BrownPr1d3 My buddy is a volunteer firefighter, drives an ambulance, is a staff sergeant in the army, sleeps only about once every two or three days, takes care of a kid that ISN'T HIS, and he is still one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. He will give you the shirt off his back if he thinks you need it more. And he works in a VERY big city. THAT is true strength. If you can't handle being a cop in a big city, and NOT being a douchebag - then you are WEAK and should turn in your badge.

He sleeps ONCE every two or three DAYS. Show me a fucking city cop that does that, you stupid fuck. The reality is that when your city cop assholes clock out, they go home and sit on ass watching fucking TV! Try working 80 hours a week as an EMT, and then IMMEDIATELY heading to military training.
