First Super-Earths Discovered around Sun-like Stars

This video was uploaded last year sumtime and the discovery was made in 2009 but, Nasa tell us differently that they just discovered Superearth this year in Sep of 2011 so who's telling the truth and whats really going on, who made the discovery?

If this is true, the first thing we need to do, is find out if there is an indiginous population. If there is, then we need to leave them alone, we cannot repeat the same mistakes we committed on earth.

@ItsCoreyLynxxYall A habitable world  can't be a moon of gas giant or big rocky planet due to the big temperature variations. + Orbiting gas giant this moon would bombarded by heavy radiation storms coming from the giant.

@TeodoraBG Actually that's incorrect. Europa may well be habitable. And if the Moon is a captured Earth-like planet with a strong magnetic field, it won't be as much of an issue either.

measurability & methods limits the sizes, and orbit durations that can be observed. So 15yrs out we are only scratching the surface of what is out there. We may not be "normal", but we may be quite common, or found to be, once methods are more powerful, and patient[i.e. long period planets]

The artists conceptions did not seem to match the planets' characteristics too well. All the planets described had surface temps over 5000K, hotter than the decomposition temperature of water, yet they had surface water...unless the 'surface' temperature was that of the cloud tops and there was a serious antigreenhouse effect going on at the rocky surface.

318 (Jupiter) and 1 (Earth).

So the planet that's "0.024 Jupiters" is around 8 times larger than Earth.
