If only we could travel at light speed... It would be incredible to see other life forms. But there are so many factors the need to be right in order for us to live there.
This video was uploaded last year sumtime and the discovery was made in 2009 but, Nasa tell us differently that they just discovered Superearth this year in Sep of 2011 so who's telling the truth and whats really going on, who made the discovery?
That'd be wicked if we (the world) moved to this "Super Earth" and survived the "End of the World". Damn science and they're theories excite me so much and usually ends up disappointing me.
If this is true, the first thing we need to do, is find out if there is an indiginous population. If there is, then we need to leave them alone, we cannot repeat the same mistakes we committed on earth.
@ItsCoreyLynxxYall A habitable world can't be a moon of gas giant or big rocky planet due to the big temperature variations. + Orbiting gas giant this moon would bombarded by heavy radiation storms coming from the giant.
@TeodoraBG Actually that's incorrect. Europa may well be habitable. And if the Moon is a captured Earth-like planet with a strong magnetic field, it won't be as much of an issue either.
measurability & methods limits the sizes, and orbit durations that can be observed. So 15yrs out we are only scratching the surface of what is out there. We may not be "normal", but we may be quite common, or found to be, once methods are more powerful, and patient[i.e. long period planets]
4:15 we live in a wacky universe and we are not normal in any stretch of imagination. Lmao! I think this scientist is so smart. I find it hard understanding his speech unless I concentrate.
The artists conceptions did not seem to match the planets' characteristics too well. All the planets described had surface temps over 5000K, hotter than the decomposition temperature of water, yet they had surface water...unless the 'surface' temperature was that of the cloud tops and there was a serious antigreenhouse effect going on at the rocky surface.

Great- maybe they find out if they are inhabitable.

Perhaps habitable worlds orbit these super earths as moons.

I would so like to see a documentary about how these planets would possible be like. Kinda like Alien Planet but better, not so cartoonish and silly.

Jupiter - Earth Mass ratio:
318 (Jupiter) and 1 (Earth).
So the planet that's "0.024 Jupiters" is around 8 times larger than Earth.
