it has been a year since then and now it looks wonderful but it almost wenterand we can get a nother one hopefully we dont bc i was freezing my butt off
This storm was amazing. I'm from California, and was passing through the region when it suddenly broke. The roads were dangerous as hell, but it was beautiful when the sun came up. The crackling sound was mezmorizing and the effect was nothing like I have ever seen before. We were stuck for a day in Oklahoma, and the only joint in town was Wal Mart. My only complaint was the beer percentage limit.
I live in Tontitown (Springdale) Arkansas and we got the worst of everything I mean we didn't have power for over 5-6 weeks and we had to live in groups and it really just sucked.
Wow, this makes me scared to move to AR! Thank you for this coverage though. You guys in AR need to upload more stuff about your state. =) It's really interesting!
This was the worst one so far, I love AR, and I wouldn't be that scared to move here. All you have to really worry about is tornadoes. The beauty of it makes up for that though =)
It was the worst we've had in a while. Plus, after you live here you get used to the crazy weather patterns. If you move here, you'll soon be standing outside making vids of the tornadoes and snow, too!
i live about 4 miles south of the hogeye mall, and so far no power and i went to ozark electric company yesterday they told me two more weeks without power and they said they were busy. so our generator runs all the time and we still have no water because it will not run the pump.
Thanks for the compliments on the video, guys. I've been working on the clean-up for three days now and I realize it is going to take a BUNCH more to finish it. haha.
It actually got way worse at our place after the ice started to thaw. I am literally up to my elbows in brush all throughout my back yard (and it is a big back yard).
I hope everyone else is doing alright and making good progress on their cleanup efforts.
i just got my power back 2 hours ago. im from springdale. and i live right across the street from the power plant! they blew 3 transformers trying to get our power back on here. lost it tuesday.
Darn that global warming....oh, wait...I mean climate change. This way they can use government control regardless of what the temperature is. Sorry to see the devastation. Take care.
You've captured the extent of the destruction very well here. The "Category 5" description fits to a tee. Thank you for your time and effort. I know that you put yourself in peril from time to time, what with the live downed lines that seem to appear out of nowhere and the roads suddenly blocked with huge trees, the melting ice shattering on heads, hoods and windshields and the limbs still falling due to melting.
sub-freezing temperatures with concurrent power- outages through mid-february . . . and obama is planning his super bowl party!! . . . excellent footage by the way!! . . . i'd rather take my chances with california earthquakes and brush fires . . . good luck to you and your family!
yea im in osceola close to jonsboro i just got power on like 4 hours ago blytheville got it worse it may be a week before that town sees electricity....it was 3 cold nights good luck 2 everyone worst power outage ive ever seen
We're in Rogers. We have power at my house but our in-laws (who live only 3 blocks away) are without power and don't know when it will come back on. Good luck to you!
My husband works for the City of Bentonville and has been working almost nonstop for 2 days trying to restore power in Bentonville alone and i know there were towns worse than us. Good luck.
i remember this, it sucked....

5 stars........ Wonder why the national news companies don't give this the coverage it obviously deserves ?
Maybe they're too busy worshipping the Obamas.
