not exactly...he is a wealthy white guy, but didn't earn his money from being a personal injury lawyer or working on wall street. he at least earned his money from first doing stand up, and eventually using that to address important issues in a humorous way on the daily show.

I'll never forget seeing George Carlin's "40 Years of Comedy" HBO special, when Carlin told Jon Stewart who was interviewing him "You are going to show us a lot, and I look forward to it." It seems like Stewart's status as not just a comedian, but an American cultural hero/icon has only grown. He'll get written down in history alongside the greats.
