I think people are being a little harsh, but I would suggest killing the sound from some of your video clips where it was windy. It's a distracting noise.
This is the most unbelievably shoddy video I have ever seen in my life. Absolute SHITE. You are the most boring bloody person I have ever listened to in my life (and I've heard a speech by Gordon Brown). You talk about the QM2.. why the fuck do I want to know about the fucking QM2? I wanted to know about Hamburg you tosser. Shite video, SHITE narrator. Fuck sake I am so angry. Fucking woeful.
The name "Hamburg" , originates in the name "Hammaburg" , the name of an early Christian settlement founded during the 9th century , located a bit south of the inner city shopping malls ,........."hamma" is a term describing a tree-covered hill protruding over marsh land , ......."burg" means as much as "castle" . greetz from Hamburg , 61diemai
@latengocomoburro There are huge arguments about it, because nobody knows. Sure, the dish we all know as the modern hamburger is American, but where did the idea of a ground meat patty originally come from? An American city called Hamburg? Visiting sailors from Hamburg? Is it a descendant of the German dish variously called "Frikadelle" or "Boulette"?
@rewboss I recognize that the meat patty might have come from Germany however the combination of bread, lettuce, cheese, etc. Originated in the USA, go to Wikipedia and read about it. It was a big mistake of the Americans to call it Hamburger. Its like saying that spaguetti is not italian because the noodles originated in China.
@latengocomoburro Well - 1. reading Wikipedia I can found many times "exact origin is unknown" and so one. Also it mentiones many first or second Generation German Americans - and a first Generation immigrant is at least as German as American. And 2. Wikipedia is great - thats clear but it is nevertheless tendentious and often quotes one-sided or unscientific/trivial sources. - So I would say - the origin is uncertain but the origin of the name seems certain -->Hamburg.
@rewboss True - but these Hamburgs are all named after the German Hamburg and were mostly settled by German Americans - at least in the first time of its existence ;-) So - if it comes directly from this Hamburg or took the detour over a "little" German American citiy - in the end the roots go back to North Germany ;-). But of course no one denies that the Hamburgers are associated with the USA. - By the way - I am no fan of McDonalds. :-)
@rewboss it is accualy a german dish for poor people where they put the "sonntags braten" in to the oven again on monday and put the hot meat into a piece of bread.
@rewboss The Hamburger was brought over to The United states By german Immigrants from Hamburg ,Germany the fankfurter was brought over to america by German immgigrants from Frankfurt germany

i am from hamburg and i've been living in munich for a few days. this vid makes me feel really homesick. excellent! :) i love my home town, and you show it beautifully. thank you for that :)
very nice video, but only the normal tourist things are to see. next time show the beautiful districts of Blankenese, Eppendorf and Ottensen with lots of amazing old houses, show the beautiful park downtown "Planten un Blomen" and so much more. not only harbour, city hall and st. pauli. that´s boring.
That was really well done man! Very pro. I love Hamburg. No mention of the Beatles with St. Pauli and Reeperbahn. Tisk tisk. I had my first exposure to Django gypsy jazz in that red light house ship in the harbor there. As a fan of fast and intricate guitar playing, that music blew me away.
Unfortunately, we didn't get all the way to Beatles-Platz, and I kind of felt that saying "This is where the Beatles honed their skills before becoming famous" while showing pictures of strip clubs and peep shows might possibly have given the wrong impression.
I cheated slightly on the filming: although most of it was done on one day during an 8-hour walkabout, I did the boat trip and a few pick-up shots a couple of days later. Editing must have taken 4 or 5 hours, and maybe another hour to find all the music.
Thanks for the response. I really feel like i need to get into making vids for youtube. I have no real excuse not to. Got a video camera and a mac. Just need to sit down to it. Thanks for your vids you have been an inspiration.
yea, i think i will do something simple to begin with. I think i will maybe record playing guitar or talk about technology. Some people say its a good idea to respond to what people have already done on youtube. Other people say to record yourself in short sections so that viewers dont get bored. Whatever way I do it; i feel that there is a need/want .
Wow! This is professional grade work. I can't believe you can't syndicate these types of programs to Television or perhaps local tourism groups! This was the best over-all I've seen, Video and audio. Your voice over was both informative, and structurally sound.Even the music worked. Great production Sir! I can't believe I missed Hamburg way back in the early 60's when I was in the American army stationed in Paderborn. It's beautiful.
