When I watched this movie for the first time, I thought, "well, this guy doesn't look like John, but it's about John Lennon, and my duty as an obsessive Beatlemaniac requires me to watch it." I sat in my chair talking in all in. I found that in certain glimpses Johnson just consumed the spirit of John Lennon. All of the actors and actresses were fantastic. A great score along with some great classic melodies! A truly good film, whether you like the Beatles or not!

This was a great movie! Who cares if Aaron Johson doesn't look like John Lennon? Joaquin Phoenix didn't look like Johnny Cash. What's important is they captured the essence and spirit of people who are no longer with us but still make an impact in people's lives.

I saw the movie and thought it very good indeed. It is only concerned at base with telling the story of a conflicted human being, warts and all at a time in his life when he was not famous. Primarily his teen years. Good film. Really. The Actor portraying Lennon did a very good job and the rest of the cast? Brilliant.

yeah but usually in a movie they try to get someone who at least looks remotely similar to the actual person. It's not that I'm the hugest Lennon fan and am trying to relive my love of him through a movie. It's that this guy looks nothing at all like him. Not even a little bit. I think they could have chosen a better lead that's all. Maybe this kid knew someone that's why he got the part. Just my opinion but I turned the movie off at about 10 minutes in.
