@byrnz35 haha he was the host of Saturday Night Live in 2003.. you can still find reruns/clips of it on tv or the internet.. but its not the easiest thing to find.
Jeff Gordon was always a good driver, but I think his break-out year (obviously) was his sophmore season when he bagged 2 wins and finished 8th in points.
Good video. I miss the good old days when Jeff was with Ray Evernham and no one could touch them. I am a Nascar fan because when I was a kid in 1994 I watched a race with my dad andI really liked the 24 car. He won the race and I have been a Gordon fan ever since. Let's hope his new crew cheif and team can get him back to championship form and winning some races.
I remember watching Nascar (very little) as a kid in the mid '80's. First race I ever saw was Tim Richmond winning at Riverside. But I didn't really get into racing until 1994. The first race I REALLY watched was the Coke 600, and I picked Jeff as my favorite driver. I've followed him ever since. With all the changes that have come to Nascar since 2004, I can't say I'm a fan of the sport anymore, just a fan of Jeff Gordon. When he retires, I'm done with racing. But I'm a JG fan for life.
@nWo24life I agree man. Nascar has screwed up the sport with all the crap they have been doing since 2004. I'm not a fan of the chase format. I don't care what anyone says, Jimmie Johnson is not as good as Gordon was in the 90's. Jeff's good crew cheif didn't stick around like Knaus is with Jimmie. Jimmie didn't race against and beat Dale Earnhardt Sr for championships with no chase format. I mean shit, Gordon won a championship with Robby freakin Loomis. Nobody wants Loomis for a crew cheif.
i remember when i was little, my pop and i built a 2 seater go-kart and then we built a rainbow warrior body to put on it. we still have that old go-kart and every time he changes a paint scheme, we go build another removable sheet metal body to put on it. and sometimes, if we find a scheme that we like, we'll make a body of it. i have a shed full of about 10-15 go-kart bodies in it. those were the good old days.
it was 1993 for me.... i have to admit that i fell in love with the car first... to a kid that rainbow warrior was way cooler than the others..... for the next 18 years my decision was just solidified!
@duke24gordon ...It was the 1995 Pocono 500, Jeff dominated that race, but on the last restart with about 7 togo he missed a shift (right infront of our seats) and blew the engine....... I've seen him win (in person) 4 times.
i TOTALLY agree i cant stand johnson sometimes... he passsed jeff in tha last 15 laps in the last race.... gordon led like 210 laps that sorta pisses me off..
what is that at 7:36 ?

The stat that kills me is that 4 out of the last 5 times that Jeff has lead the most laps in a race Jimmie has won that race

6 titles for sure! NASCAR F***ed him over moving to the chase format!
LouieMacanudo 2 years ago
Should have 6 titles. He is right up there with Dale Sr. and Petty, He is better than Dale Sr. in my opinion.
MrElculver2424 2 years ago
Yea.. NASCAR screwed themselves with the CHASE..... there would be way more hype over Jeff going for 7 then 12 drivers not named "Jr." in the last 10
