  • what do u mean with gummy?

  • @BizenDk Gummy, gritty, dirty, slightly less responsive, slow. I'm not sure exactly how else to describe it basically once you fire a lot of .22 through anything you can tell it is getting fouled up.

  • @BizenDk you ram a gummy bear down the barrel

  • i like the video but that gun is not my favorite\

  • @TheAmandaBeloved It's not my favorite either. I like any of the Ruger .22 pistols, Browning Buckmarks, and even the Walther P22 better. I also like the new S&W 22 pistol. Thanks for watching.

  • I picked up my "tax return toy" and I like it. I fired about 200 cci minimags through it and only had a few ftf's, I think due to bad primers. Mine does seem to be picky with ammo, but im hoping that goes away after more use.

  • @taurus9mm22 It certainly could get better once it's broken in. I hope it does so. But even with a few failures I think that's a pretty cool firearm. Cheap, semi-auto pistol practice is awesome! Enjoy.

  • I held one at the gunstore today and fell in love with it. Tax return toy. The OD threaded barrel one looks sexy as hell

  • Remington .22 is sh^* Federal bulk is the best. All the failers are ammo related, dirty gun isn't good either LoL

  • If you shoot CCI Mini Mags or Stingers in the Mosquito, you wont have any jams or misfires. I believe that the Remington 22lr gold tip are the worst 22lr there is out there. Thats the only Remington ammo i have ever had problems with. Stick with CCI like the manufacture recomends and you will be fine in any 22lr thats my choice thanks alot KEEP BLASTING LOL...

  • @jdfrogzter I think you'll still have jams but not nearly as many. I like having a .22 that will function pretty well with the cheaper ammunitions but it depends on what my goals are too. Thanks, take care.

  • Pretty good shooting, dropping those small targets at 25 yards. Did you stick with the installed front sight or swap out for a different one? I bought a Mosquito a few weeks ago for target practice and really like it. Only abourt 300 rounds (CCI) through it but very reilable. Thanks for the video!

  • Wow barely any failures with that remington ammo. I find it to be one of the dirtier and failure prone compared to others like CCI.

  • @hardope705 I agree. It's typically the worst ammo. Remington 10/22 rifles seem to like it but that's all I've found, and not all of them will shoot it reliably either. Most guns hate it.

  • hehehe... no lube....

  • You are a terrible shot. Good luck with that!

  • @epohnopulse I don't know that I'd call that terrible. That's shooting a .22 LR pistol with a gritty trigger as fast as possible at 15 to 25 yards on small steel targets. I know guys that are really good with pistols that can take their time and miss those targets! Take care.

  • @ghillisniper300 Yea, those aren't some big, man-sized targets at 7 yards. Plus, you're clearly going way faster than normal. "epohnopulse" seems to be oblivious to that fact...

  • @pcgamerjoe Yeah. Some of those popper targets are decent size in height but they are just as wide as the others. But anyway it was a function test not an accuracy test so it wasn't supposed to showcase shooting ability. I never really expected anyone to think it was supposed to be, but I'm wrong all the time! Oh well. Thanks for watching.

  • @epohnopulse have you ever shot golden bullet out of a .22lr? they are the least accurate ammo out there

  • @epohnopulse rofl!

  • @epohnopulse 15 to 25 yards with a pistol is a pretty long shot.. Lets see you do better!!!

  • Seems to be jamming a lot to me, actually...?

  • @pcgamerjoe It didn't jam till somewhere around 1400 rounds. The video didn't start until after that. I know, you'll have to take my word for it that it fired the first 1400 without much incident. But that's 140 magazines full of ammunition BEFORE the video starts, that would make for a very long and boring video!

  • @ghillisniper300 Ah I see, that makes more sense. In that case, that really is quite a gem you have there, assuming it functions well again after cleaning. =)

  • @pcgamerjoe Yeah, it's a bit confusing and I wish we could have shown more of the shooting early on. That was a surprising gun because of how well it ran. It did run really well after the cleaning as well. Thanks.

  • this gun haves jam

  • No cleaning, NO lube, Remington ammo?!!? seriously you should clean it everytime, lube it every time and use quality ammo such as cci's EVERYtime

  • @7722aaron This was a function test, hence the lack of lube and cleaning. I also disagree with using cci every time. That is good ammo, but there are guns out there that aren't that picky. I don't like limiting myself to one ammo type. I want to be able to walk into Wal-Mart, buy something that they always have, and walk out knowing it is going to work in my gun. I'm to the point in my life where I don't shoot picky guns much. I'm too old I guess!

  • I break in all my rim fires with Rem Golden Bullet. I like the fact that its dirty and gritty. In my humble opinion, you did exactly the right thing. You got that slide cycled 1500 times. Now clean her up, and shes gold. I like that Sig. Its a handsome pistol. Will pick on up this year.

  • i did that with a 10/22, no cleaning and lube 1700 rounds without a hiccup with federals bulk pack. as soon as i got a jam, drop a little lube on her and she was fine again. took it home and clean the hell out of her. that's the last time im doing something like that, i felt so bad for my rifle.

  • @blaziankhmer Yeah, it feels like you're doing something wrong! It's good to test them out thought in my opinion. MST's 10/22 doesn't like Federal, but it feeds other bullets fine.

  • @ghillisniper300 do u have to be rich for all of those ammo & guns?

  • @userarefull LOL. No. Most of what you see in our videos aren't mine, but there's a group of about 10 of us that get together to shoot, and between all of us there are a lot of guns. We've also been almost single minded in our pursuit of firearms and shooting as a hobby over the last decade and a half.

  • @ghillisniper300 oh its great, i will like to do it too, but doesn't every bullet cost like 2 dollar and when u fire like 50 of these its cost alot? how can i shoot real guns like u? should i be in the age of 18+? in what states it is available?

  • @userarefull No these bullets are about $0.03 per shot. This gun is less than $500 I think. Here in the states you have to be 21 to buy handguns but I believe you have to be 18 to buy long guns. The most expensive bullet I shoot is for a .300 Win Mag and it's about $0.85 a shot for Federal ammo and about the same for my handloads.

  • @ghillisniper300 wtf? with 0.03$ u can kill a man?? wow, really cheap, i live in israel and i just interesting... i hope i will work in usa one day and learn there in the university, is it worth to go to america and study in the university and work? i had alot of people that said to my mom that its great, and the only thing that is missing is the family, but for 3 years to get good money is it worth it?

  • @userarefull It just depends. I mean, I love America and I am fortunate to live here. I think you can come over and live here as long as you vote Conservative! I'm only half joking. But yeah, I love America.

  • @ghillisniper300 oh, i think i will work in america, I WISH!!! and tell me, what do u mean " vote Conservative"?

why i wont want to rent a .22 pistol? because its cheap or something? hey, doesn't scar have only semi auto or Bump fire? i mean i thought its illegal to have automatic rifle in usa...

  • @userarefull you can have full autos buy you have to have a machine gun license. Im sure if you do get a fully automatic weapon the CIA will be watching lol

  • @7722aaron haha, cool, so if i will be american i will be able to make license? how much do u think it cost?

  • @userarefull It's a political thing. We need more Conservative voters in my opinion, so I had to throw a joke in.

This pistol costs less than $500 and the ammo is cheap, so if you rent a gun at a range you'll get more for your money if you rent something that you can't own for cheap. You can get Semi-Auto SCAR guns. You can buy full autos here but they are really expensive and you have to pay a tax on them.

  • @ghillisniper300 what do u mean that we have to pay tax for them? every month we have to pay or its will be just more expensive? after all scar-l came from belgium and im sure the taxes on it will be higher than normal, but how about m4? it is a us made and its probably dont cost alot because of the taxes...

oh, i got it, tell me, in what state do u live? california? nevada?

  • @userarefull no hes right. atleast as far as fully auto goes, theyve made some changes to suppressor laws recently but for every class 3 weapon you have its a $200 (atleast it used to be may have gone up) yearly tax on it

  • @BigJT2010 I was under the impression it was a one time tax like the suppressors? But I don't know anyone personally with a full auto so I don't know. I just know a guy with suppressors. So I could be completely off base on that.

  • @ghillisniper300 im almost positive that its a yearly tax for fully auto class three, but suppressor laws have changed and i dont know the technicalities of it. but i do know that with a six month waiting period and a check through ATF any U.S. citizen w/o a criminal history can get a suppressor. of course that depends on the state you live in.

  • @userarefull The cost for full autos is really high. It's like illegal drugs, if the supply is restricted and the demand is selective, the price is really high. The tax isn't much compared to the cost of the gun. And country of origin doesn't matter as much either I don't think.

    I live in Oklahoma.

  • @ghillisniper300 and only the cizitens can buy this right? if i will work in usa i will cant do it, but how about not buying a gun, only fire it in a gun shop, will i be able to do this?

  • @userarefull Yeah, you can rent guns in a lot of the gun shops. I've been in a couple of places nearby where I live where you can rent all kinds of stuff. You won't want to rent a .22 pistol though, you'll want to rent a Glock 18 or SCAR (full auto).

  • @ghillisniper300 and do u have to be a ciziten of usa to get a gun or shoot in gun shops? can u carry guns (pistols) in ur pants or something like that?

  • @userarefull I think you have to be a citizen but I'm not certain. I'm kind of dumb on that. You can carry a gun in some states if you have the appropriate permit. Each state is different.

  • @ghillisniper300 and lol, do u know fpsrussia? this guy is a america who actually buy BIG GUNS and really big explosives, is this legal too? even fireworks its legal in usa, this is why i love usa :D

  • Is it just me, or does this guy miss alot?

  • @therealshanequa He doesn't. In this video he's firing a semi-automatic .22 pistol with a gritty trigger at decent pistol range (up to 20 yards or so) firing pretty fast. John Wayne is going to miss a lot under those circumstances.

  • I bought this gun today. It fits my hand perfectly, has a nice weight, and looks pretty bad ass. Its the first gun I've ever owned so I wanted a smaller caliber that I can practice with and something my wife would feel more comfortable using too. We also wanted something for self defense. 22s aren't the best for home protection but I think any gun is better than no gun in that situation.

  • @detached You're absolutely right. .22s aren't the greatest for self defense, and people will jump on you for using it as such, but in reality, it's better than nothing until you can get something bigger and shot placement will make up for some of the weakness of the .22 LR cartridge. My biggest concern would be making sure my ammo, mags, and gun all function well as a system so I don't have to worry so much about jams.

Good buy and good luck! Thanks and take care.

  • This gun is not built for 22 lr I know it is but it should not have been it jams and really blows with subs to I would go with a 1911 battery of arms 22 lr

  • @Don007206 I'm having trouble following that comment. Sorry. But if I understand you correctly I will have to disagree simply from an experience perspective. In my experience, this particular gun shot very well and had minimal malfunctions for a semi-auto .22 LR. The only purpose built .22 pistols I could confidently say are better than these, from experience, would be the Ruger Mark series and the Browning Buckmark.

  • i ran that remington ammo through my rifle and got a bunch of jams

  • @snowflake0388 Yeah, that Remington is not my favorite. I think Man Sized Target's Ruger 10/22 likes it but most guns don't. I don't own a .22 that likes it for sure.

  • you suck at aiming

  • @paintballplayer172 I'm not sure that 15 to 25 yard shots with a .22 LR pistol is something that I'd get too uppity about.

  • @ghillisniper300 im the owner of this account and that was my friend that put that so sorry for that but . i got a sig sauer mosqito 22lr pistol how do u like it????

  • @paintballplayer172 It's all good. I wasn't pissed or anything but just wanted to point out that my friend doing the shooting is a pretty good shot and those weren't bad shots under the conditions.

It wasn't my gun but I was kind of up in the air on it. I like any .22 just for the cheap fun that it offers, but the Mosquito was hard for me to shoot. The trigger was tough for me. So I really did stink with it. But it was fun and it functioned well.

  • so why is everyone hating on these? I dont understand how I can read so many nasty reviews and then watch YouTube video's of the gun performing just fine~ Do that many people not know they need to clean and treat there guns with respect or what?

  • @Lghtng2 I don't know, I guess a lot of people either couldn't find the ammo they liked or didn't have that ammo available. Most .22's I've shot are picky about what type of ammo they eat but most will feed at least one brand of bulk ammo. But this gun is far from the same one referred to in a review I once read that told me to take $350 and light it on fire instead of buying the gun.

  • @ghillisniper300 ~ WOW, those are strong words. Guess I'll have to find a range that will let me test one out before buying.

  • @Lghtng2 I thought they were strong words as well. I personally think that people will buy the pistol, then take it home and run whatever ammo they have at home through it and if they have any problems they get angry. I can kind of understand that I suppose but I believe some of those nasty reviews are done before they've tested other ammunition types/brands in the gun to see if it really works or not. Thanks.

  • @Lghtng2 Precisely. Lubrication is all. Or, almost all. Oil and good ammo, mine has been perfect.

  • Cool thanks for the quick response man,I subbed you btw.

I'm gonna scroll through your' vids tonight.

    Take care.

  • @boosted28 No problem, I try to respond as quickly as possible. And thanks. I scanned your vids and watched a few of them and subscribed. Thanks again.

  • I love my Mosquito,I got it in desert digi camo.

I was told they only made 1,500 of them.

Do you know if there is any truth behind that?

    Thanks man great review.

  • @boosted28 That may be true for the desert digi cam. That would be a pretty sweet gun. I've seen them and they look nice! They made quite a few of the standard models I believe.

Thanks. Take care and happy shooting.

  • Thank you, it's good to hear nice things about this gun for once. I am thinking of either getting a SIG mosquito or a SIG 522 SWAT Commando.

  • Have one just like this, love it!

  • This is a fun pistol. I own one. It feels awesome in your hand. It is really cool looking and fun to shoot. Most 22LR pistols of this semi-auto design have trouble hanging up every so often. Mine was hanging up a whole lot when I first got it. I sent it in to SIG to get worked on, and whatever they did, made it perfect. I love it.

  • I've heard nothing but bad about them also and I purchased one about a year ago. It's the funnest pistol I own. I've never stressed it out by shooting 1700 rounds in one sitting, but I did learn early on, it's particular about the ammo it likes. I had the remington value pack and it hated those. I polished the feed ramp and keep feeding it 40 grain rounds and I have no issues with mine at all. I stay away from remingtons but everything else as long as it's 40 grain goes bank all the time.

  • any gun that can go 1400 rds with no cleaning and no LUBE is a GOOD gun

  • Have got the Sig OEM Suppressor, made by Brugger & Thomet (Swiss). It doesn't change the reliability one bit. Having said that, as long as I feed it CCI Subsonics and use the correct recoil spring it will eat a brick with Zero issues. Experience has shown that later models have less issues than the earlier models. A little dremmel work on the upper edge of the feedramp helped a lot also. Good vid, Cheers.

  • About 1500 rounds no cleaning id say thats why u got FTEs, clean it lol, its a .22 not a Colt .45

  • @123456Masteraceman That was the point. The title of the video hints at the fact that we're testing this pistol out and trying to see what limitations it has. These get a very bad rap as a general rule and people insist that you have to run cci in them. We simply wanted to see if that was true with this gun or not. 1500 rounds with no cleaning was a purposeful test. After Doc found the limitations with it he took it a bit further and then cleaned it. But that was the entire point.

  • Good review. Thanks for the post.

  • mine works like a charm no jams yet.

  • not that brutal....its a 22, have fun lol. But great quality

  • @centurionairsoft23 It's brutal when you compare it to what most pistols in this class will do before they quit feeding and firing properly. Many .22 firearms will get debris in and around the firing pin and won't get good srikes causing failure to fire. Or they will get residue pretty much everywhere and stop ejecting properly causing stoppages. 1500 rounds with no cleaning through a semi-auto .22 pistol is fairly brutal, though I would not call it torture. Thanks and take care.

  • @ghillisniper300 eeeeewwwww Remington LR .22cal no workey in a lot of guns

  • I had put 500 rounds through mine before it had started to shoot 100%. You have to keep them clean between the sessions. I usaully shoot 300 to 500 per session.

  • 36 grain bulk ammo sucks in mine. Ive seen the Blazer 40 grain brick ammo shoot consistantly after a break in period

  • is the longer barrel for increased accuracy or is it just for something else?. asking because I am looking to purchase one but I have not decided yet if I want one with the longer or shorter barrel :). great video really liked it

  • @1Gabrielsson1 This one is threaded so you can slap a suppressor on it. In my experience, the suppressor will also make a gun like this more reliable. That may not always be the case but it seems to be. I have seen some .22 caliber suppressors for as low as about $200 as well. I've not shopped for them much so there may be cheaper ones or better ones, but then add the tax and tax stamp and you're in $500. Still, I'd go with the threaded barrel just so you have options.

  • @1Gabrielsson1 Dude seriously dont get this gun get a smith and wesson 22. pistol or ruger 22/45 its a super frustrating gun.

  • I have that same model...1400 rounds...wow...I can't get more than 70 before mine starts giving me grief..I even had the chamber polished to use other round besides the mini mags...the Winchester seems to work well...mine doesn't like the rem or feds....Sig says to "oil it about every 70 to 100 rounds"...

    Thanks for the review....

    Target On...E1

  • Maybe I'll get one of those to practice malfunction drills. lol

  • @jamesjr934 Ha! Not a bad idea. Tap Rack!

  • Ok thanks alot.Take care

  • My wife bought a Mosquito a few weeks ago and put 500 rounds of CCI Mini Mags through it without any problems...

  • The primary wear point is the chamber. It's simply too tight for most .22LR bulk ammo, which is not always consistent in case dimensions. CCI for the most part is very consistent. Once your Mosquito's chamber wears in a little bit, your ammo options open up as well.

  • Also, polishing the trigger components helps a great deal with the gritty trigger. You can also remove the brass washer from the bottom of the hammer spring to drop the trigger by about a half pound or so. I was originally going to buy a P22, but holding both side by side, the P22 felt like a joke of a toy compared to the Mosquito. I've really enjoyed this pistol, and it always comes along with me going camping or anywhere where I might find some spare time and a few empty cans.

  • @wysoft Hey how hard is it to do all that?

  • @tfoshohoe There used to be a lengthy post on SIGForum about smoothing the Mosquito trigger, but I can't find it any more. It's not hard, but you'll need a parts diagram (it's in the manual which you can download from SIG) and some patience. You'll find that the trigger bar and a lot of the trigger components have sharp edges that cause friction in the assembly. Smooth everything out with very fine sandpaper. Don't sand the face of the hammer or the sear catch. Also I remove the magazine safety.

  • My Mosquito is up there in round count, probably 5,000 or more now. While the gun was picky at first, at this point it accepts most bulk ammo. Federal Auto-Match and Remington Golden bullet are the best out of the bulk, very few failures with either. You can really tell with the Mosquito which loads are hotter than others, and of course the hotter loads work better. CCI Stingers are especially fun - lots of fireballs in the evening, and the spent casings get tossed about ten feet to the side.

  • for this gun it is best to use copper jacketed bullets this solves the fail to extract the the remington or lead bullets cause cause of lead fouling

  • Is there any difference in steel or polymer magazines? e.g. easier to load, price...e.t.c.

  • that remington ammo doesn't fire well in ANY of my guns... surprised to hear it does well in the mosquito...

  • @fishslayer25 I was surprised as well, and I think Doc was too. Remington seems to be the worst of the worst for semi-automatic .22's. I can use them in lever actions and bolt actions with few problems but in SA they hardly ever function correctly. Somehow this Sig liked them.

  • @ghillisniper300 Yea I got the mosquito, and with any bulk ammo even with a clean gun will hardly ever be able to get through all ten rounds. With cci minimags mine functions flawlessly. It looks like your bud got a good one out of the batch.

  • ive had it with mine,im going to cut my losses and sell it

  • CCi. Period. I got mine three months ago, was a little concerned thinking about all the bad reviews, but i really liked the look. So far, around a thousand+ rounds and only one fail to extract the first time I used it. I bought the CCI "tactical" ammo (box with 375 rounds) for around $24 a week ago. flawless. Don't forget to keep it clean!!

  • @ferdiez1 CCi alwasy performs well but the real test of any .22 LR is to buy a 550 round brick of cheap ammo and see if it functions. The price difference between 375 at $24 and 550 at $18 (current price I paid last Thursday) is $0.032. Or put another way, mine cost $0.032 and yours cost $0.064. CCi is twice the cost. Now, that's not a huge deal, because you still aren't breaking the bank. But if I have a few failures at half the cost I don't mind. Thanks and happy shooting.

  • @ghillisniper300 All im gonna say is federal bulk 375 pack, ran it thru a ruger 22/45, no problems watsoever thru the whole brick

  • @Heat907 the 22/45 shouldn't have problems with much of anything. Federals seem to work well in Doc's conversion kit but not in MST's Ruger 10/22.

Do they not have the 550 packs where you are?

  • @ghillisniper300 yah, but at walmart its a better price to buy two 375 packs than one 550.

  • @Heat907 Really? Not at my walmart. That's weird. Oh well. I'll look again next time I go becuase if I "have" to walk out with 750 rounds instead of 550 that's a "win".

  • @ghillisniper300 Hey i'm not complaining, but they have a one box limit so i can only buy one, which means i have to make an extra trip back. Stupid california walmarts

  • @Heat907 Aw, booo. Now that I think about it, Walmart here may have the same rule. I remember buying 4 bricks once. Those were the days! Of course, those were also the days they had them stacked on the counter and marked at $8.95 a brick.......

  • @ghillisniper300 Damn, that's a good deal. About a month back a company, turners outdoorsman, had the federal 550 packs for $16 a pop, no limit on how many you could get ( except until they ran out). I got 4 bricks only because i didnt know about it till i got there and didnt have enough $. Had i known, i probly would've stocked up at least 4,000-5,000.

  • this gun is grate its a 22, all 22's fail no matter make model its just the way it is, if you want to have a 22 that doesn't jam, misfire, fail to extract get a REVOLVER all auto jam all depends on the ammo temp ect.

  • @amiicory It's a relative matter. Yes anything in .22 LR will jam; however, a good .22 will not jam that often. The typical Mosquito or P22 will probably jam more often than a Ruger Mark II, Mark III, or Browning Buckmark. I have seen a Mark III that is more reliable than a couple of .22 revolvers I've fired as well. If you find a pistol that only jams due to ammo or mag problems, that's good. Less reliable guns will add jams caused by the gun function and that is no bueno.

  • why are there only 10 round mags?

  • @swisshoumi That seems to be a pretty standard thing for .22 pistols. I'm not sure if there are laws that cause this or if it is "just the way it is". I'd love to see some 20 round .22 mags for pistols though, or more. It would be a pain to load but very much worth it.

  • @ghillisniper300 check out the Keltech PMR30 - wish we could have here in Oz

  • @11elloco I'm still not completely sold on Kel Tec. I like them becuase they seem to make pretty good stuff and it is much cheaper than other, similar firearms. And they have great customer service. But I've had a few issues with some Kel Tec guns and I've seen plenty of issues with them in other people's guns. But still, the PMR is a nice looking gun and I'd like to get my hands on one to try it out. Thanks. Have fun in the Land of Oz!

  • Damn, 1700 round torture test with no cleaning? That's a quality gun there.

    Thanks for the video!

  • @Rezxer I was pretty impressed! Thanks for watching. Take care.

  • I have the same problem when using Remmington ammo. Tried CCI and there's no problem jamming what so ever. I don't thing is the pistol but more like the ammo you are using.

  • @tranimal1 Actually it wasn't a problem of that ammo either, it was a problem of 1500 rounds of it pumping through the pistol with no cleaning. This thing ate any ammo offered with minimal problems, but with any gun (especially a .22LR) you have to clean it from time to time or it will jam. This particular Mosquito didn't jam excessively until about 1400 or 1500 rounds of the cheapest junk ammo money can buy.

  • mine will fail to fire, fail to eject, fail to extract, if i use any ammo than cci minimags....the cci's work flawless... mine would not shoot remington ammo

  • @Tekn9ne11 That's what we hear a lot. It seems that in the Mosquito and the Walther P22 they typically function well with CCI but not so well with other rounds. Unless you suppress them, and then they seem to work well with just about anything. This was a very nice firearm, I would say it was close to the standard of perfection for the Sig Mosquito, what they all should be.

  • Shot 200 rounds through mine today brand new gun. only one Failure to feed and one failure to fire, not bad. If you like the gun then buy it . Every product out there will always have negative reviews , you gotta try it for yourself.

  • @shoulinmunkm2 Yeah, that's the good and the bad about the internet. Some folks seem to be dead set on badmouthing things. But then you never know if they really got a lemon or not so it makes it hard to know whether you want to drp $350 on something that may not work or not. But I agree, try it out and see if you get the chance. If you really can't stand the thought of taking that chance, there are Mark IIIs and Buckmarks with your name on them!

  • With remington .22 ammo that is a torture test!

  • @mgschutze No joke, Doc was out to REALLY test it. No fancy ammo, or even the better bricks. He did shoot several kinds through it but sent the gold tips through it for sure.

  • I bought mine last year, tried it out today used Aquila hyper velocity 30 grain bullets and lubed it up with Break-free no problems fired 50 rounds works perfectly

  • I think I had something like 22 stoppages in 1400 rounds uncleaned. After that first 1400 the slide travel was very gritty, and could have attributed to some stoppages. The polymer sig mags suck most stoppages came with those mags. Ruger is coming out with a factory threaded barrel in 2011 on the 22/45 have not seen one in person but it sounds cool, may be a more reliable 22 option that is suppressible.

  • Dam now I don't know what to do.I've got one on hold right now but I can still change my mind.I see all these horror videos about the pistol and then I see this one.It seems pretty reliable to me why does everybody hate it ?what should I do?

  • @956Mas Good question. I've been told to take $350 and burn it instead of buying one of these. Then Doc goes out and gets one that functions great on cheap brick ammo.

I hear they work well with CCI mini-mags, and I would assume that even one that doesn't function like this one would function on those. You might take a chance on it knowing you may be feeding it CCI.

If all else fails, pay the tax and get a legal suppressor and it should be fine! :)

  • looks like you're shooting in Pet Sematery

  • Have you tried federal bulk pack. I never have any luck with the remingtons.

  • It looks more like a brutal hearing endurance test :-) But anyway thanks for that, this gun looks really reliable.

  • And despite what they say about this pistol is crap. My friend got a new one and I still bought one in used form and very happy.

See, not all pistol at this price range has the look and feel of big brother model and this one you can train with. I love this model.

    Nice review and thank you

  • @OSWALD117 I've been trying to look into this but I'm having some trouble finding out much about it. I'm not ignoring you! It appears some gun MFGs use Zamak in some of their parts, High Point for example I believe does this. In my experience, Sig Saur uses high quality parts and they are usually great firearms. This being a .22 LR; however, may mean they did things differently. I'm not sure. I'll keep looking and get back to you. Thanks.

  • Most are from California and call themselves GANGSTAS. Wilkapedia says, GANGSTA= Felon with a gun, can't clean it yet alone field strip, then they limp wrist it and every gun is a 45 even yours. perpetrating they are something else. like a none violent person till I present files that they are a chicken without a head. Really you convinced me to buy one. Love it, great video, even if you didn't call it a 45. Go head Prank em, they don't know any better, lets prove it. Its a 45 made in Ohio.

  • so your mosquitos junk like mine huh

  • @RustyGunsM10 No it ran like a champ. It only started having failures after 1400 or 1500 rounds with no cleaning. After something like 1700 rounds it gummed up and got sloppy, but a cleaning fixed that. By no stretch of the imagination does that mean every Mosquito will be this way; however.

  • half the point of not cleaning is to test function....geez people are dumb

  • @gshdrums I think the scientific process is lost on some people! Thanks for watching!

  • besides it was easy to realice this guy does not care a .... for his pistol since the number of rounds been shooted without a proper cleaning and the pistol looks really dirty though its not a hd video , and if u think its not reliable for defensive purpose try the CCI minimag [[hollow point]] on any surface like a cantalupe or a pork leg and see it effect about how might be in a raper or assaultant or whatever's body.

  • @darkspectro100 The lack of cleaning was the point. It was a test of function. It has nothing to do with if he cares for the pistol or not, it has everything to do with the scientific process.

As far as reliable for defense, it really isn't. Sure you can kill something with it, but is it as reliable as full power pistols? No. Never. No matter what ammo you use.

  • @ghillisniper300 I think the guy that made that comment is a retard. Cant read obviously

  • Try different ammo, could be a little bit expensive.... But works great...!!!! CCI Mini Mag or other typ of Remington... Remington 33gr HP Yellow Jacket, 436m/s Remington 36gr RN Viper, 370m/s Remington 36gr HP, 395m/ Remington 38gr Subsonic, 324m/s... works perfect with a Silencer/Suppressor;-) CCI Mini Mag 40gr, 380m/s FIOCCHI, RWS, Sellier&Bellot CCI Stinger 32gr HP, 506m/s and, and, and.......................
  • Well, I guess that convinces me. I was sort of trying to make a decision. A question - Is there a big difference between the original metal magazine & the plastic (polymer) magazines they give you after market. I'd like to have the metal. Great video. I hope you cleaned it good. THX. JAMES.

  • @buzzclark keep in mind also that there are a lot of people who don't have us much luck with these. I definitely don't want to mislead anyone into buying a "jam factory". I'm not sure if we got lucky or if only the bad ones get reviewed!

I believe the metal mags cycled slightly better but I'll ask Doc. I don't think the difference was great. I will get back to you on this. Thanks.

  • @ghillisniper300 Having looked over the design of it - do you think it would be possible to give the mosquito a "trigger job" or some sort of "metal polishing" in the places where metal touches metal to smooth out or lighten up the trigger pull??? I am almost convinced to make the purchase although it's a lot of money for a gun that needs work from the very start (i.e. feed ramp polishing). I just think if I had the possibility of trigger work it would be more to my liking. Sincerely, JAMES.

  • @buzzclark I would like it a lot more if the trigger was better as well. I'm not certain whether a trigger job could be done or not, but I don't know much about gunsmithing either. I suspect something could be done about it, but I just don't know for sure.

  • Sig has made 3 exceptionaly great models over time. The mosquito is defiantly not one of them!

  • @Gunfreak513 What I've read and heard agrees with you, what I have seen does not. I suppose if you get a good one you get a great one.

  • I was fondling one of these in the store today. I love the feel of it and I'm glad it seems fairly reliable (given the circumstances of your test). How does it look on paper when you bench it?

  • @grishfish I'll have to have Doc put together an accuracy test for me. He does a lot of my vids due to being close to the range and having a better camera. When I shot this gun it was tough to be precise or accurate due to the heavy trigger, even in single action. Doc does better with it than I do anyway. I'll see if he'll put together a video for us.

  • great video! !

    Thanks for sharing

would this be a good investment?

  • @KONAPRO It depends.....at least 75% of the reviews I've read online say this would NOT be a good investment. If every one functioned like this one it would be a great investment hands down. This functions better than my first .22 rifle did when it was new. Also, if you use CGI minimags it should help, and from what I've seen a suppressor helps also. So I can't tell you that if you buy one it will work like this one, but perhaps it would with higher priced ammo.

  • @ghillisniper300 I have one and only use the CCI Mini mags, I have had no jams of any kind with it. If cleaned and you use the Ammo SIG says to (CCI) then you may be all set I have been. It had issues in this vid after over a thousand rounds not bad for a .22 handgun of this type. .22 ammo is dirty.

  • @Sigp229TRT Yes, that was the ultimate test I think. I had heard bad things about these, but this one worked well even with the cheapest bulk ammo money can buy. I was impressed. CCI makes good stuff, but if I can get away with the nasty, dirty bricks I'm golden! Thanks and take care.
