I love this song so fricken much, my grandma gave me a mixed cd with this on it when i was 6, i listened to it everyday. But, when i heard the first minute of this video i just about died laughing. I love Johnny Cash and i love America.
Patriotism is so hard to find these days. people dont have a love for thier country anymore like they used to. everything is about money. listen people. this is for all who may be reading this. Dont be like that. be proud of the us. if you see somebody disrespecting the us flag. say somthing
Johnny Cash is the greatest song writer in the world. His music is a treasure and not to be forgotten. His love for this country is unmatched. Now he is in heaven with the other saints. Rest in Peace my dear Friend
I'm damn proud of this work by Johnny Cash. I like how he mentions that she's "Abused, she's been burned, dishonored, denied, refused..." We need more people who are proud of this country, proud of what we've done...
The flag will wave on over this great country and is the stair in every eye of those coming from other lands for this ragged old flag stands for what they want the freedom of speech, freedom to pray, freedom to say what you want a life worth living God bless that ragged old flag and her land.
i love the patriotic way in which you americans protect your flag.we dont have that in the uk.(god knows we need it).god bless johnny cash and god bless the stars and stripes
Anyone knows were I can find a original video of this concert? I saw this sequence was included in a documentary with Kris Kristofferson but I can't find it..
I was at this Highwayman concert at Nassau Coliseum on Long Island in th 90's and I can say without a doubt that Johnny Cash's recital of Ragged Old Flag was the ultimate highlight of an amazing show.

I saw him sing this song in Springfield Missouri at the Hammond Student Center at SMS University in 1976. He was a great American Legend!
