  • "13 years later" they still argue about that push. LOL

  • Like if you're old enough to remember actually watching this game. Everybody in my house hated MJ, I was the only one who jumped up cheering lol.

  • push off, but Jordan always got superstar calls.

  • Jordan>basketball

  • 0:17 It's Over

  • only MJ

  • what the fuck, how can anyone not like this vid? even russell said he was gonna make it no matter what. the internet and the world is fulled of stupid, ignorant and incompetent people.

  • @iamjackyisme Uuuum idk. Maybe Karl Malone, John Stockton, Bill Russel, or Utah Jazz fans. lol

  • Niggas in paris

  • bad clock management by mj

  • Michael :) it were for me LIVE as well :) I didn't sleep and watch it on the little Tv :D After the game when my mum and dad get back :) I went just like lol muuuum daaad amazing thing just happen :) they already knew and to surprise me they had for me my first big mac meal :) it were for me the last moments as a family before it all gone, the last year, the last shot. Michael Jordan 23 the best basketball player ever !D

  • #23

  • #23!!!

  • Lebron travelled. Look at the replay. lol

  • watching this as the NBA lockout is over

  • Costas went crazy!!

  • Beautiful Shot

  • Fact: If the 1994 Major League Baseball strike hadn't happened, the Bulls never would've won their 2nd 3-peat, cuz Jordan said he would've stayed with the Sux if that hadn't happened.

  • @bhawksaddict If you want the facts do an internet search for

COMMENTARY : Jordan Puts His Spin on Why He Quit, but Is Anyone Fooled?

  • Jordan pushed him but nice tho

  • @azofly123callme You see this, and the first thing you do is bitch about his hand touching him? Fuck outta here

  • the best shot every!

  • jordan is not arrogant he's relax even with a unbelievable dunk unlike lebron he's arrogant when walking are when he made a dunk

  • When Derrick Rose was watching this growing up, his little brother turned off the TV the moment Jordan made the shot.

  • He gave him a little shove but the nasty ass crossover is what really made him fall. jordan would have still been open without the push he just wanted to make sure he was really open.

Besides being able to bend the rules and not get caught is a skill a great player needs. Its not his fault they didnt call it

  • Jordan was just putting his left hand down to catch the ball on the crossover and Russell's leg got in the way, resulting in him slipping and falling. Russell forgot to do his calf raises and leg presses. Jordan is the best player ever in the NBA.

  • a dead tired MJ cannot knock a 215 lb. man on his ass 6 feet away with a brush by his weak hand.

MJ haters...get real. hes the GOAT!!

  • I am a Jordan fan and I always thought he pushed off, but I saw IggJiggy's comment and started to look at the hundreds of video's that show this shot and I now thing it was more for MJ's balance that to move Russell. MJ's hand was only on him for a split second and I think it was Russell's own momentum that caused him to keep going rather than a push.

  • @annon896 Wow, you actually thought about it. Again, if Jordan can "throw" people 5ft with his weak hand when he's dribbling and faking, then he's the strongest human being off all time. The fake is so nasty and the weak hand is more of a balancer than anything, Russell was dead tired and just bit on the fake completely.

In the 90's I rooted for Barkley's teams and then the Pat Riley led Knicks, so this guy made my life a living hell. Greatest player of all time, in any team sport.

  • Every time I watch this....How does Antione Carr not show at the top of the key to meet MJ?!?!?!?! He was guarding Rodamn as well. Unbelievable that you allow Jordan an iso there with all that space and not even have your center show and force the ball out of his hand.

  • I saw this guy!! I SAW!!!!!!

  • Clutch; three key plays at the end of a decisive game situation, making the field goal to complete a second three-peat. He's the greatest.

  • Basketball died for me after this shot.

  • @Pravoizavlijesvijeta Your comment says it all for me

  • This makes me so very sad. I miss MJ.

  • At what point did think the Utah fans, sat there and thought, "Oh Jesus, we are going to lose this game." Was it the layup by Jordan (not shown), the steal, Jordan holding the ball at the top of the 3 point line against Russell, after Jordan "pushed" Russell, or after Jordan made the shot? My guess goes with the steal you can hear the whole building deflate.

  • @MackMurdera8092 lol.. Exactly!!

  • THAT WASNT A PUSH! RUSSELL JUST SLIPPED ON MJ'S SWAG JUICE!

  • Also you can see that his hand is sliding down and hits Russell's leg and foot. Not a push.

  • @TheBrainWeed everyone pretends like that didnt happen though, same goes for the whole baseball thing

  • HE PUSHED, HE DIDN'T PUSH. IT DOESN'T MATTER. JORDAN OWNED BRYON RUSSEL EITHER WAY.

  • A sad moment in the nba. It would have been beautiful to see Stockton and Malone win a title together.

  • @hisdness1 sad moment for utah fans, maybe the best moment ever in nba history.

  • @koalalauncher I'm not even a utah fan. I'm a celtics fan, but I was rooting heavily for the jazz in this series. Stockton and Malone deserved a ring. Seeing Jordan and the bulls win again was boring and undramatic, but it was a great shot.

  • @hisdness1 i hear ya, but the nba is littered with great players who deserve a ring but will never get it. i don't think stockton or malones legacy should ever be looked at as tarnished cause they didn't win a ring, unfortunately they ran into a dyansty

  • @hisdness1 but i think as an unbiased nba historian and fan, the chicago dynasty couldn't have ended in a better way. a 35 year old michael jordan, scoring a layup to cut it to 1, getting the steal, and breaking russels ankles to hit a smooth jumper, it's like a fucking fairytale lol. would it have been great to see stockton and malone get a ring? sure. but this was voted as the number 1 nba finals moment ever, if the jazz had won the series, and the bulls dynasty ended that way, i dunno man

  • @koalalauncher Thats all good. At least this series should have went seven games. With all these hall of famers on there last stand, it would have been an epic battle.

  • giving jordan a wide open mid range shot is the same as giving iverson an open lane to the basket or ray allen or reggie miller an open 3

  • he was never going to miss that shot

  • Not a push. Anyone who has ever crossed anyone over knows that you need your other hand to catch the ball. In this case Jordan is bringing his left hand down to receive the ball (1:44) Russell just happened to be in the way. Russel panicked and over committed in one direction. The rest is history.

  • Who is Lebron James?

  • That was not a "push". Yes contact was made with Jordan's hand and Russell. But look at the video starting at 1:43. The fabric on Russell's shorts is in no way smashed against his leg or otherwise wrinkled to indicate pressure. Not to mention, look at MJ, he has no solid base to push with at the moment. It's ridiculous to say Jordan pushed a 220lb man to the ground like that, with one hand. Those who argue that MJ pushed are arguing simply to argue.

    Or they're just fucking retarded.

  • @IggyJiggy he broke his fucking ankles clearly not a push he faked his drive to the hoop players do that all the time

  • @IggyJiggy Also Russell never argued the call...if it was a push any other person would have got up and started complaining to the ref...didnt see ONE jazz player do that!

  • @IggyJiggy I agree completely. I find it baffling that people can say he pushed him to the ground. I think it's almost impossible to push a man as heavy as he is over, WHILE performing a step-back crossover and gaining balance to take a perfect jumpshot. You're right, people who argue are trying to ruin one of MJ's greatest moments just because they can't handle how good and consistent MJ really was throughout his career.

  • @IggyJiggy Exactly. This move MJ pulled was just a simple "ankle breaker". When an ankle breaker is pulled on you you're bound to slip and fall every single time!

  • @IggyJiggy i totally agree with that, BUT he might have pushed a 220lb man with one hand because after all, he is michael jordan

  • @IggyJiggy did you know that using the word "retarded" as an insult is not acceptable?

  • @tanukitejon Did you know telling someone what is and is not acceptable in your opinion, on the internet, is retarded?

    Go cry about it.

  • @IggyJiggy The reason why its not acceptable is because being retarded is a mental desease wich we dont choose but have to live with. Biut after reading your comment, yeah you must be retarded.

  • @tanukitejon HAHA It's amazing how easy it is to get someone like you to become a hypocrite and make you stoop to my level. You're a fucking moron.

As I said before, you're telling me what you believe to be unacceptable in your eyes. This is your opinion, not mine, therefore you're retarded. So go pack sand faggot.

  • @IggyJiggy Yeah i think you are right!

  • @tanukitejon Oh and one more thing. Learn to spell, you're just absolutely awful at spelling. Typing like you're a 4th grader doesn't help your case.

  • Comment removed

  • @IggyJiggy Haha sorry but even Jordan admitted he used it against Brian Russel. Remember Jordan is very strong and Russel's momentum was going straight there, nothing a little push can do

  • @Konphetty If you can produce evidence that that were true, I'll take it. Until then, just like when people say Russell admitted slipping, I'll disregard both and go off of visual fact.

So, pack sand. Oh and go listen to more Rebecca Black.

  • @IggyJiggy WOW Your obviously an idiot not even gonna talk to you. Im talking to you in the nicest possible way and you talk shit. Ciao im out

  • @IggyJiggy Uhm no, he clearly pushed off? You're just up Jordan's ass. Nonetheless it was a good shot.

  • Yes, he did push Russell, but he still had to make the shot. And being the G.O.A.T., missing wasn't an option.

  • Let us focus solely on the 1998 NBA season.

Michael Jordan is second to none in the entire league .

The only person that believes to be better than Jordan is Scottie Pippen. Obviously, SP knows something that the general public, do not. Simply because SP has beaten MJ numerous times during practice or 1-on-1. SP's time spent with MJ has provided him with a solid comparison of their skills.

Anyway, MJ is too damn good to cheaply push Russell. He is unstoppable or overly successful.

  • I bet 99% of people in that arena and those watching at home didn't notice the pushoff in real time. They only realized it after seeing the replay. That's how quickly and cleverly it was executed. And to folks who really play ball, that ish is a thing of beauty. All the greats have those little tricks.

  • @uberathlete jordan did push off him but its was still sweet

  • at 0:35 pippen wasn't even happy with that shot, no wonder he said lebron is better

  • Oh gosh I remember being on the phone with my friend as we watched this game together. When Jordan stole that ball from Stockton then tripped up Byron Scott to hit that jumpshot, we screamed so loud I'm sure we busted each others eardrums lolll Awww man that was an incredible game!!!

  • that last angle showed it was a push. his arm never extended to push him. byon russel is a big dude and a little tap isnt gonna knock him down.

  • That was a push? lol. That wouldn't even knock a baby down. His left arm got tangled up with Russel's arm and Russel didn't fall from a push, he fell because he slipped. lol

  • Karl Malone... the greatest viction of Michael Jordan.. he'd have gotten 2 championships of not for Jordan

  • That wasnt even a push. Dumb ass speaker.

  • even though it was little push... little push... the best player ever to play still has tricks up his singlet.

  • He's the best. The NBA is not the same without your talent!

  • It's amazing how calm he was when he stole the ball, walked up the court, and made the shot.

  • The angle at 1:42 says it all... Russell was beat, but he is believing the hype that he got pushed

  • It's funny how this is 13 years ago and people still argue over push v. no-push. LOL! This was one of the best (if not the best) NBA finals I got a chance to witness in my lifetime.

  • For you people that say he pushed off, no he didn't. He barely even grazed his shorts. Byron Russell kind of "flopped" acting like MJ pushed off. If anything, MJ kind of broke his ankles with the stepback.

  • .......how magnificent is it.

  • Man, FUCK Jerry Reinsdorf....

  • tang ina tae si angel

  • jordan....open......chicago with the lead!

  • It ain't a push off unless the refs blows the whistle. I'm a Bulls fan too, but like someone said earlier, Jazz would win the series IF there was game 7

  • PUSH OFF

  • I bet 99% of people watching didn't even notice the push off until the replay. He did it so quickly and cleverly.

  • @uberathlete push offs werent really called back then in that time period, It was a much rougher game then the silly tap fouls you get nowadays

  • @animetrix90 Push offs were called - it was not that long ago.... THEY DIDNT CALL PUSH OFF's on MJ.

  • MJ the biggest basketball player EVER!!!!

  • The Jazz were really tough both years but especially tough this year. If it went to game 7 i'm almost positive Jazz would win series. I'm a bulls fan saying this. They went to game 7 against Indian and that was a super close series. Another team that was good enough to win a championship but never even made it to nba finals.

  • @Gforcebond Indiana made the finals in 2000.

  • 1:27 jordan pushes his defender to win the game what a bitch

  • @nmadrid91 If russell fell from that "push", then he's a bitch, not jordan. Jordan has his hand there and he grazed russells leg as he went past. YOu cant fall from a wave. Jordan is just that good. He made russell his bitch every single time they met.

  • @nmadrid91 Hes not a bitch you fucking fool it barely was a push off are you fucking blind?

  • @nmadrid91 Sorry Sir, I disagree w/ you and all the MJ hating posts to this video.

    Ball stolen, every one knew.

I clearly see MJ making full two step burst to the right, break, single step cross-over to the left, half step mini hop to the left, jump shot, nothing but net.

Russell, Side-Step Defense, realized burst, half step lag, lost S-S D, need to gain full step to stop drive, made full upper-body turn to the left, surprised by break, tried to stop upper-body momentum, slipped.

  • great moment

  • 1:25-1:30 PUSH!!! haha michael jordan is a beast and i aint hating but that wuz not a slip.

  • @nizhdar Yeah of course it looks like it from that angle, did you watch any of the others?

  • JORDAN>KOBE, LEBRON, AND ANY OTHER

  • Hopefully Kobe "Awesome Self Christened Nickname" Bryant can win his 6th ring this year t... oh, wait.

    #MJ

  • i have watched the live one 10 times and still dont see the push thats how fast he is! i have to watch the replay

  • Jordan is my favorite athlete of all-time - and this is my favorite moment of his - but once in awhile I almost wished we could have seen MJ play in a Game 7 in the NBA Finals

  • It's not a push. Look at Russell, he didn't even complain about it. He went straight to his bench, no bitchin, no nothing... so SUCK IT. JORDAN IS THE GREATEST EVER.

  • I bet 99% of people watching didn't even notice the push off. Sure he pushed off, but that's what you call skill. Most NBA vets and greats would appreciate those little things. The only time most folks noticed was with the replay. He executed that move so darn quick.

  • i love jordan and the biggest jordan fan ever but this isnt impressive because of the push off and the one on one defense. i grew watching basketball but for the people who says 90's defense is better got to relize most of the defensive teams never double team jordan like the knicks who had john starks on him one on one (who was trash).

  • not a bulls fan, but love jordan

  • @redSHIFT69...I am a huge LeBron fan...but Jordan had a better overall game than Lebron in every aspect besides maybe dishing the ball ill give Lebron the edge there but thats it....#23(Jordan) was and will always b the GREATEST EVER LIVED IN THE NBA!!!

  • GET CROSSED, BITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @ghoomba100 michael jordan is a beast no doubt but crossed? haha he fouled the shit out of russel u must be blind if u dont see it.

  • I will NEVER forget that moment!

  • Barkley, Payton, Ewing, Miller, Malone, Stockton, Kemp, Cleveland, Utah = Jordan's bitches

  • @sportygu123 more like NBA<Jordan

  • @sportygu123 Payton and Kemp are nobody's bitches.

  • @sportygu123 lol..

  • Why the hell is Isiah Thomas calling this game?? Really? No one else was available or better suited??

And yes, Bob Costas also messed up the call.

  • Kemba walker made a shot simlar to the final shot jordan made

  • lol..i love jordan but he pushed off russel....

  • @sychosnare

Bullshi- they're not going to call a quesitonable offensive foul in the last seconds of game 6. No ref would

  • Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • man do I miss watching wgn all those years, and hearing marv alberts in the playoffs against the knicks and the jazz and the pacers.

  • Lebron is way more Xplosive than 23.

  • I remember watching this live in the summer of 1998 and after seeing this game of jordan i realized i had witnessed one of the best moments in sports history jordan hitting the game winning shot in chicago for one last time, even if youtube did not exist i would still remember it.

  • @jimg0007 Same here, me being a Jazz fan I was devastated, but I loved watching Jordan play and I was in awe with all the incredible things he did those 2 years he struck my team down.

  • How come nobody has a real footage of this so they can upload it on Youtube?? I find all kinds of live footages here but it's impossible to find MJs.

  • Simply the greatest player EVER. Kobe, lebron, etc all them guys are awesome but jordan is GREAT. The faces and crowd sound of the jazz arena as jordan was running down the court to score that last shot and then making that last shot was EPIC. LOL talk about a dagger through the heart for them.

  • Jordan is and will forever be the greatest Basketball player to ever play the game. No one can be more dominate and more clutch than he was and no one will surpass his work ethic.

  • Jordan got away with the push on Russell. Doesn't make him any worse.

  • Hey at least the jazz have some filthy warmups.

  • i dont think people realize that HE HAD 45 POINTS !!!!! on top of a a game winning shot!!! G.O.A.T

  • Was this Michael's final push-off?

  • WHAT THE FUCK CAN 18 PEOPLE DISLIKE ABOUT THIS VIDEO??? TELL ME. I REALLY WANNA KNOW. WHAT IS IT? THE QUALITY OF THE VIDEO? THE SOUND? THE COMMENTARIES? OTHER THAN THAT, EVEN AS A JAZZ FAN, YOU CAN'T DISLIKE IT, I'M SORRY, BUT YOU CAN'T.

GREATEST PLAYER ON THE BIGGEST STAGE, AGAINST ONE OF THE BEST TEAMS BACK THEN...

WHAT IS IT? PLEASE TELL ME, WHY DID YOU CLICK ON THE DISLIKE BUTTON????

  • Karl Malone made 18 accounts

  • @BananaLover21 you mean Byron Russell made 18 accounts lol

  • Jordan carried that series very well due to Scottie being injured something that my fav. player couldn't do(Lebron James) i thought that he should of scored 45+points for the cavs in 3 games at least but at least he's is in the Heat now

  • nice push on bryon russell jordan haha

if that was kobe yall wuda been tlkn so much shit like how he cheats and all that

    am i wrong or what

    i dnt think so

epic game tho i member this shit i was like 9 at the time and member watchin this

  • @MarineNNurse Because defense is dead in the NBA now, jordan had to work far harder for open looks

  • @AllKobe24 i'm sure your opinion is non bias, how ever calling kobe the closest thing to jordan would be like calling justin beiber the closest thing we have to elvis. Do you see my point? both have a pulse, both breath air, and defecate. No in all seriousness bieber and the king are teen idols, sold millions of records, are loved world wide but the quality of their work is massively different and the most important difference the impact that M.J. and E.P. had will never be matched

  • so like KObe is the closest to MICHAEL jordan and yes that alone should be top 15 all time.. But kobe isnt better than russel.. nor kareem, nor hakeem, nor shaq, nor tim duncan.

KObe is and elite basketball player. he still has ways to improve.. alot. :)

  • @royman606 What does he have to improve? :)

  • Did anyone else realize that Jordan's 45 points was more than all of his other team mates combined?

  • to comepare kobe to his airness is an insult to mj no one ever will equal mj ever.

  • @nyfootballgiants1 When people say he is the closest thing to Jordan. They mean the closest as in similar player, not closest as in Greatest All Time. FT shooting is the same. 3PT shooting is the same. Same height, about same lbs. They are both great dunkers. Great post guards. Good rebounding guards. They get about same assists. Great defensive players. Get same blocked shots. See how similar they are?

  • @AllKobe24 LOL!

both great dunkers? jordan is better.. he's like a ballerina.. LOL!

both great defensive players? jordan got the defensive player of the year.. how bout kobe?

about the same assists? kobe is a ball hog..

same blocked shots? as i said, jordan got the defensive player of the year..

great post guards? kobe copied jordan moves, which is smart.. now, kobe becomes one of the best in the league cause of that.

3PT shooting? well, kobe is a better shooter in that area.

  • @kingtoooooot Lol, are you deaf? This is why I said its the closest similar person we have ever had. Never did I say Kobe is as good as Jordan. Lebron is a good defender, defensive player of the year? No. Shaq. Defensive player of the year? No. You don't have to win defensive player of the year to be good at defense. Ballhog excuse. How can he be a ballhog when he leads his team in assists? Blocked shots isn't defense. Rondo doesn't get blocked shots but he has good defense.

  • This should have been MJ's last game, what a way to leave. And im a diehard wizarss fan,

  • was this game where MJ had the flu and they still won

  • @Boarder2841 No

  • Funny to see a not fat Phil Jackson.

  • legend

nba on nbc needs to return. make it happen comcast

  • @illmatic630 probably wont happen since NBC has football.. but I dont know... I miss NBA on NBC too though and that NBA theme music they play lol

  • This is what real basketball looks like

  • BEAST!!!

  • malone is a son of bitch

  • Malone flopped on the most important play of his career.

  • There. Will. Never. Be. Another. Like. Him. Period.

  • 0:16 = the collective sound of the state of Utah shrieking in horror.

0:29 = the most pure jump shot in NBA history.

  • @rmur23 BEST COMMENT UP HERE

  • wich shoes are those? Jordan's i know, but the specific model?

  • @denko238 He's wearing the all-black 14s

  • @stopwhining1 Thank you. i have those, but i just wasnt sure...and didnt knew the model :) thanks again :)

  • i like how everyone wants to compare Kobe to M.J. . The level of competition for Michael was tremendous., from Ewing,to Olajuwon, mourning,Barkley, magic Johnson,Larry bird,Wilkins,Drexler, worthy, Karl Malone, Isiah Thomas,Moses Malone,Shaq,Reggie Miller,Gary Payton,David Robinson, these names are just one guy per team, i'm sure the actual list is longer and all of them are hall of famers; or hall of fame caliber players. Who's kobe beat to become champ?! oh that's right eric dampier ahahahahaha

  • @nyfootballgiants1 hahahahahahahahahaha i love Kobe, but that is SOOOO true

  • @nyfootballgiants1

Worthy and Magic are on the same team?

the competition this decade is much more competitive. You're just being biased. This era has much better team defense.

    I'm a Bulls fan.

  • Jerry Sloan can never beat phil jackson

  • God said " ...This was how it was suppose to end..."

  • Wasn't a push. What most people fail to see is that not only was this the game winning shot, it was a legit ankle-breaking crossover, which was even greater than the shot itself

  • Kobe will never come close to the greatness that was Michael Jordan.

  • I still remember- 23 points at halftime...45 at the end. creepy

  • who is the color commentator?

  • @indahplace2b Doug Collins and Isaiah Thomas. There were two this game.

  • yeah and he got 45 points easily in a game like a uav in call of duty

  • The best moment ever in the NBA
