  • Ah, religion... man at his best - man at his worst.

This pagan appreciates this beautiful music.

  • rachmaninoff's ave maria is wonderful also. I just love the orthodox chant .Ido wish we had such beauty in the roman catholic church. We have went a little holy roller,I do wish we had our old music back...i have nothing against people of that faith,,,,

  • Fuck, such good acoustics, sounds beautiful.

  • Himmlische Musik perfekt dargeboten; es gibt den Himmel in Russland!!!

  • Come home to Orthodoxy! IC XC NI KA

  • There are no words to describe what I really feel when I listen to this divine hymn by Tchaikovsky!!!

  • It is truly gorgeous indeed, but all this talk of God, Tchaikovsky never felt inspired by God, Tchaikovsky achieved all his music by sheer hard work. After all, if God sees all, he sure wouldn't like Tchaikovsky much, now would he?

  • @ALuten1984 God loves us all the way we are, so I do believe He loves Tchaikovsky the way he is. And yes, the music is amazing.

  • @hcybtiw Now that I can live with, and I do hope you are right, but the Church I used to go to has always taught me there were special places in hell reserved for people like Tchaikovsky, which if true is no happy prospect for me

  • Every time I listen to this such an unexplainable sense of peace and tranquility sweeps over me so powerful it brings me to tears. No other music has anywhere near this effect. It's truly Divine music in a very literal sense of the word.

  • Surely this came from the Divine … the “Imprisoned Spender” that exist in all of us only awaiting our opening out a way for it to escape and bless everyone it touches.

“The Jewell of The Cosmos … The Birth of Consciousness”

The Jewel of the Cosmos … Consciousness … is the key to unlocking the secrets of the universe. Travel with me as we unlock these secrets.

  • This can appeal to an faith, atheists included, that's the beauty of it

  • I knew not whether I was in heaven or on earth...

  • Divine, sacred music, PRAISE BE TO GOD, PRAISE THE LORD.

  • Спасибо.

  • This is amazing.

  • @SynthWoof Don't you mean "Sir Gay" Rachmaninov? But seriously, do you really think God hates anyone? I think hatred is a human flaw that is way beneath God.

@rezkid2001 This music is so beautiful and uplifting, but if I had to hear it "without end" in heaven, I'm not sure I would want to be in heaven. I would want to also hear Mozart's "Ave Verum Corpus," Bach's "Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring," Benny Goodman's "Sing, Sing, Sing," etc.

  • This is one of the best recordings I have heard of Russian Religions music. Thank you for uploading it.

  • Certainly, Tchaikovsky had cherubim influence do show us magnificents sounds that make extraordinary feelings.

    God bless you.

Thank you for sharing this master piece.

  • "Then the glory of the LORD went up from the cherub, and stood over the threshold of the house; and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of the LORD's glory. And the sound of the cherubims' wings was heard even to the outer court, as the voice of the Almighty God when he speaketh." (Ezekiel 10:4,5).

Oh to be in the presence of the King of Kings!

  • Divine, holy, sacred Christian tune.

  • So beautiful, Tchaikovsky never ceases to amaze me. This Hymn is beyond special

  • @CanadaPisces

  • The cheruvim in heaven are singing - "SAINT! SAINT! Saint is The Lord oh hosts! FULL IS THE HEAVEN AND FULL IS THE EARTH WITH HIS MAJESTY! And the serafims are claping their wings,(Father Paisios) in a bit that's the bit of their clean heart, and they are all burning with Love for God ,the Creator of all things, The one that called us from NOTHING to existence! But the direction to heaven is to really understand that we deserve hell(full repentance) otherwise Nobody will enter in Heaven!

  • USSR Ministry Of Culture Chamber Choir is THE BEST!!!!

  • This is the best work of Tchaikovsky in my opinion. He got into trouble with the Church by having this work (Divine Liturgy) performed in a theater and not during services. I was thinking of another Cherubic Hymn by Tchaikovsky with begins very quitely and slow builds to a climax and then slowly becomes quite again. Alexandr D'Maddalena

  • Thank you so much for posting this. I belong to the choir of a Serbian Orthodox cathedral and we are learning Tchaikovsky's divine liturgy including the Cherubic Hymn and his Trisagion. All of it! Quite frightening for a second soprano like me and not a first.

I'm glad that I am able to hear what it is supposed to sound like. Thank you. : )

  • Thank You, dear Pyotr Ilyich! God bless Your soul and Your wonderful music!

  • Who, in their ever-lovin', right thinkin' mind would vote thumbs down on this? Even if you have issues with Tchaikovsky (how? He's been dead for over a hundred years!) or his "life-style" (how in the world does that affect you??) or are anti-religious (and this affects you, how?), this is just mind-blowingly awesome. Kudos to the producers of this album. Every track is spot-on and superbly engineered. Peter himself would be proud and impressed.

  • I can't believe there is people who posted thumb down!!!! This is a-ma-zing!! Great sound, great performance!!

  • Friends, please stop dignifying the comments of some, just leave them to their own devices, let's enjoy Thaikovsky music.

  • P. I. TCH

    hehehehe.

  • @JohnEBPiano Yes, yes Such is the joy sliding, shivering, manifesting, clean, smooth delighting my heart, my soul, my giggle.

  • Tchaikovsky was gay. That's reality. It's funny that all the delusional bible-thumping shit heads that listen to this can't seem to accept that and call it the "gay agenda". You people are pathetic and it makes me laugh.

  • @FelixOcato take your drugs, dear... take your drugs...

  • @FelixOcato. your a very sad pathetic human being, if you can even be called that, go to justin beiber.com and get our jollies.

  • I do have some of their Music and am always wanting to listen to them sing or chant.

Even though I do not understand the words or speak Russian just listening to this Chorus-Choir is very special and spiritually uplifting. Simply glorious !

  • ... and now I know what beauty is..

  • I have a couple of CD - Sacred Treasures.. I am sure I am going to wear the CD

out as I keep playing and replaying it.. so I am planning on getting others.

They are truly a magnificent Chorale Choir..

  • очень красивое спасибо

  • очень красивое спасибо

  • Knowing that Tchaikovsky was homosexual makes listening to his music about Jesus all the better.

  • @FelixOcato it isn't proved that he was homosexual. No matter if you like the imagination of his supposed homosexuality, people shouldn't think about it while listening to his music. This biographical and intimate question has nothing to do with him as a composer.

  • @FelixOcato Seriously? With our perverted, oversexualized 21st century minds normal statements and actions of completely innocent nature are often translated into the most perverse motives. There was nothing homosexual about Tchaikovsky; this statement slanders the dead who can no longer defend themselves.

  • @FelixOcato Keep your gay agenda bullshit out of this forum for beautiful music. Your symbols are lady gaga and madonna, stick to them.

  • The Lord GOD must have dictated this music to Chaikovsky, its impossible for a human to compose it, PRAISE GOD, through Jesus Christ, AMEN

  • @maxbatch70 Tchaikovsky please

  • Astounding ........ the art of man & woman. Even Almighty creator must be pleased with Tchaikovsky I expect. I never heard this magic before, thank you very much.

  • Некоторые люди живут для этой музыки. Эта музыка живет для некоторых людей.

  • I'm not religious at all but I love this song :)

  • Very heavenly

  • I had this masterpiece playing while watching images of the Japan quake/tsunami destruction. It is almost impossible to describe my feelings...

  • That man rumble is beastly as fuck. Russian = BASSMASTERS

  • Where can I find the sheet music for this??? Anyone know?

  • Будто проникаешь в иной мир, не понимая не земле или небесах так поют!

    Великолепно!!!

  • Проникновенное исполнение! Святая музыка!

  • This is a lovely performance, but as I criticized this CD on Amazon, it leaves out the entire second part -- the ecstatic and energetic Alleluiyas that welcome the Divine Presence in the Eucharist when the Great Entrance is completed and the Elements are carried into the Ikonostas for consecration. This is only a portion of both the liturgical text and the musical composition.

  • Wait until we are in heaven and hear this without end!

May we be blessed until then

  • @rezkid2001 will Tchaikovsky be there? Because I heard god hates gays. (look it up, Tchaikovsky was gay)

  • @rezkid2001 Even this, which I consider the most profoundly beautiful piece of music ever written, must pale in comparison to the angelic choirs surrounding our Most-High God. Our imagination cannot begin to comprehend such beauty.

  • @HMAlexei So much more glorifying than these poppy overly fake emotional songs, which inspire self glorification. And this is coming for a 21 year-old christian youth leader who should apparently love that stuff!!

I can't wait for that day when I stand in the midst of glory and my whole body quakes as I gaze upon Almighty God - Commander of heavens armies. When I am embraced as son into the heavenly realm and worship God in eternal state. When I live my life as God intended before the fall!

  • @JoshD667 You may find it "cool" to be so devout while others, including Tchaikovsky and this fine choir are "fake", but I find it pretentious and judgemental.

  • @TripBoomLikeThat Cool? if I were trying to be cool, I would most certainly not be a christian, why how society in my area looks down on it! You may be right about Tchaikovsky, but your wrong about me. Ill content myself with a good laugh at your ignorance.

  • @JoshD667 Your attitude may be your problem with being looked down upon. Judgement, anger, and pride are not tenets of Christianity.

Listening to music like this should give you peace.

  • @IntoTheMystical Allow my Christian Borthers and sisters whom know me more than someone who has read a comment, do the rebuking and judging. You have little place or authority to do so.

Also it does. I love this music..

  • @JoshD667 *You're wrong about me* (chuckle at comment about ignorance)

  • Krásne

  • fantastic choir, devine music

  • niebianska muzyka

  • angel music!

  • beautiful music

  • This is what heaven would sound like to me. Many thanks to the USSR Ministry Choir for this outstanding and unforgettable gift of music.

  • If someone asks what love may be: This music tells it!

With love from my slovonian heart: Eugen Pawlowski

  • Every time I"m crying ...so mystical

  • Every time I'm crying...Mystical

  • Every time i'm crying...Mystical

  • this is so powerful & transcending ~

Can you imagine what is must be like for those who are harmonizing these sounds?

I can imagine they are in an altered state.

  • @7Desiderata this is what it must be like to be in heaven, or high on crack!

  • great

  • The lyrics in English are as sung in my Orthodox church are:

Let us who mystically represent the cherubin, and who sing the thrice holy hymn to the life creating Trinity, now lay aside all earthly cares. Amen. That we may receive the king of all who comes invisibly upborn, by the angelic host. Alleulia!

  • Who don't like this video? :S

  • This is as close as you'll get to Heaven on earth...

  • I'm driven into madness by this music! I get the fits! This is more than beauty! Hard to believe it's a composition by Tchaikovsky who obviously knew, how one writes music, that is, how manipulation of senses works best...

  • @Rotebuehl1 "driven into madness"...such rapture, shivering my psyche, cleansing my soul, uplifting into Devinity. "Driven into madness"..you are at one with the music that transcends, the slender cord that lifts up into the core of Beauty. And we all are graced. I would love to hear what else you do with your wonderful life.

  • @bizintin Well, that will stay my secret in youtube! Cheers and God with you

  • PROSTO SOVERSENNO!!!!

  • This is positively the most beautiful sound I have ever heard produced from this earth. What more can I say?

  • It's ashamed that churches today miss the power of the human voice, and instead

playing crappy music. i guest thats the feel good churches here in american. People

want entertainment instead of singing. Maybe half of them can't sing??

  • @Psyche777able Give me an email to mail u a whole Christian Orthodox mass. Truly unbelievable.

  • as soon as this vid begn my dog - who had been chewing a bone on the floor near the computer - suddenly became serious, stopped chewing, and looked at the speakers. she cocked her head to the side a little and listened very closely. Normally my dog ignores the sounds coming from the computer. this is the power of the human voice, combined in pure harmony and devotion. even some animals are compelled to stop and listen.

  • @movitmovit I am grateful for your posting. What is your dog's name? Our dog Charliy did that with TV which she had never even glanced at even when a dog barked on a show but when the Dalai Lama

spoke she sat on her haunches right below the screen and watched. Dogs are amazing.

  • @bizintin her name is "mocha". she is a rottweiler.

  • @movitmovit That's amazing and I can agree with u, the voices themselves sound like actual angels :)

  • Is so beautiful...i have my own choir but i can t find any sheet with this cherubic hymn so i am not able to sing this.

  • i can feel a piece of heaven on earth...

  • is cherubic hymn comes from old testament or new testament? The rhyhm invented by priests? or already built in the Bible i mean the tone?

  • @fezrel This is the prayer that is chanted every Sunday in the Orthodox Church before the Eucharist part of the service. There are many different settings of music to these profound words.

  • @fezrel Dont ask for this, this is what angels sing flying around Christ throne. Some people can hear them.

  • when i play this song together with the "Cherubic hymn - Xeroubiko - Cherubim-hymnus - 2nd tone (Byzantine Chant)...i cry badly..remember the cherubim non-stop praising God while we here on earth non-stop sinning..

  • Oчень прекрасный!

    Дуже гарно спiвати !

    Very beautiful!

    Very good singing!

  • Stairway to Heaven!!!

  • i just finished listening to his symphony no. 6, then i discovered this for the first time. needless to say, i am beyond speechless

  • Gospodie Pamilui.

  • Truly amazing ...

  • amazing, thats all i can say

  • Beautiful! A powerful testament of the long and apostolic tradition of the Eastern Church.

  • urmm wow :|

  • Magnificent - beyond five stars.

Horatio: O day and night, but this is wondrous strange!

Hamlet: And therefore as a stranger give it welcome.

There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,

Than are dreamt of in your philosophy.

    Hamlet Act 1, scene 5

Thank you for posting this whoever you are.

  • wooooooooooow

  • I first came across a recording of Russian Orthodox music when I stopped by a little classical music store(now gone...) back in 1990----the owner recommended a recording of Rachmaninoff's Vespers(on the Telarc label)----I WAS HOOKED:I DON'T KNOW WHAT HEAVEN SOUNDS LIKE BUT THIS HAS GOT TO COME CLOSE: i'VE GOTTEN DOZENS OF CDS SINCE THEN:RUSSIAN, UKRAINIAN,GEORGIAN: THIS MUSIC IS SIMPLY UNSPEAKABLY TRANSCENDENT!!!!!!

  • @athanasius58

Transcendent, yes, and we are blessed to have it so abundantly available to us. Had it not been so, I would have never known.

  • Someone has sheet for this wonderfull masterpiece.

  • Liquid light searing the edges of my soul, igniting the depths of my being. Majesty soaring, lifting me up, delivering me into the hands of the Lord God Almighty. And settling me down into His holiness in a place of peace.

  • Stasi Czajkowskiej herbu dębno zawsze się ta muzyka podobała.

    Nasza krew.

  • Mnie i Stasi Czajkowskiej się to bardzo podoba.

    Świeć Panie nad jej duszą.

  • Мне нужно MIDI

    hvala

  • this is just amazing, the chorus, and Tchaikovsky.....My God

  • May the Lord bless you and keep you Katherine! You have described the best way to participate in the correct glorification of our Lord. All senses, every part of the soul and body are to prasise God.

  • Amazing!

    Thank you

  • One of the most beautiful hymns I ever heard and with no musical instruments. Astounding! <3 AC

  • spaciba bolshoi

  • english translation- [We], who mystically representing the cherubim and singing the thrice-holy hymn to the life-creating Trinity, let us now lay aside every worldly care so that we may raise up the king of all who is invisibly borne aloft by the angelic orders Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia

  • im a musician and i would love to use this piece for my high school's brass. does anyone know where i could find the sheet music for this? choir version prefered, i can transpose anything

  • i have it i can email it to you

  • @Otownbtone

That would be amazing to hear young people playing this transcendent song with the brass doing the chant. Would make for some pretty happy tubas, etc. Please let me know when you, all, have it on You Tube.

  • All the senses are to be annointed and consecrated to God in Baptism/ Chrismation -forehead, eyes, ears, nose, lips, throat, hands, feet. You will also be tonsured... I could go on, but I don't want YOUR journey of discovery to be marred by my interpreation of it!

    Lord, Have Mercy.

Grant unto them that love Thee, greater measure of Thy blessings; that they may ever glorify Thy most Holy Name; of The Father, and of The Son, and of The Holy Spirit, Now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

  • You smell (nose) the incense of the sancification God has wrought in His people and of their prayers going up. You touch (hands) the candles &light up your and others souls with your prayers; you kiss (lips) the icons & your fellow supplicators then "taste and see that The Lord is Good"; you take to heart all your senses can experience (breast) and offer all and recieve all from Chrost Our God, whom God accepts all in HIM, then gives us evermore increase of "The Faith, full of the Holy Spirit"

  • Yes the music can be wonderful, but there's more!

It's not just what you hear that is blessed and sanctified...

    You SEE (eyes) the Lord, follow (FEET) on the path to Salvation and His Saints did who followed Him, depicted in the Icons, windows into Heaven; You hear (ears) the Good news of what God does and the Holy Gospel;

  • How wonderful, i wish to god we had such music in the Catholic church. Ours sounds like cirus music when compared to to yours..Thank you dear Russian friends for your music and art. I love icons also...

  • this is beyond 5 stars,sublime,heavenly.i'm speechless..

  • svaka im cast!! predivno!

  • I am not a christian, but I am particularly enamored with the musical liturgy of the Russian Orthodox Church. This piece by Tchaikovsky is probably the most serene and beautiful chorale I've ever heard.

Can anyone tell me where I can find the Russian lyrics to the Cherubikon?

  • These are the Russian (Church-Slavonic) lyrics: Иже херувимы тайно образующе и Животворящей Троице Трисвятую песнь припевающе, всякое ныне житейское отложим попечение.

  • If you can't read Cyrillic, here is the anglicised version: Izhe kheruvimi tayno obrazuyushche e Zhivotvoryashchey Troitze Tristvyatuyu pesn pripievayushche, vsyakoe ninye zhiteyskoe otlozhim popecheniye.

  • Whoever you are, come home to God's Church, come home to Orthodoxy.

  • Not even the godless Communists could stop this heavenly beauty! Thank you.

  • @maestrovoci What do you mean, comunists could 't destroy it. It is they who prerserved it and who are performing it. This is mindless anti-comunism, or is it arrogant anti-Slavism I am hearing from you.

    Slovenian.

  • @Theodor727 - Amazing that he or she did not care to read the video description of this awesome and beautiful hymn performed by The USSR Ministry Of Culture Chamber Choir, a hymn that lives on forever.

  • @maestrovoci

only because communist do not judge peope in accordance to their religious tendencies. they judge reactionaries and people who corrupts the words of God in order to maintain social inequality.

communists respect and support fine arts even it is religious or not. but the american imperialism and ''godly'' capitalists impose MTV and other rubbish ,which are full of pornography and moral corruptedness, on native cultures. listen lady gaga or sth like that if you are so anticommunist.

  • @gilliali35 I'm anticommunist and I like Bach most. :D

  • @maestrovoci Tchaikovsky himself was not exactly a religious man either. He, like the "godless communists", was simply struck by the transcendent beauty of liturgical chants, without attaching any value the devoutness of the text. And listening to this, who can blame them?

  • My Russian Brothers in Love,

How profound spirituality, how strikingly it touches the deepest strings of the soul...Ερανιστές υπερκοσμίων ψιθύρων.

  • Et oui,ils ont un choeur eux,au Ministère de la culture....SPASSIBA!!

  • @Siberiaeterna и Валерию Полянскому тоже!:))))С Рождеством!

  • Heavenly

  • Like an angels.....

  • i own this album "sacred treasures". this is my favorite work on the album. thanks for posting it.

  • Its music like this we live for :)

  • @sailingforde04 Yes :)

  • @sailingforde04 i can cry to songs like these and find peace, heavenly peace. Truly there is no better music to describe heaven on earth.

i get goose bumps listening to this song.

    it is my most favorite.

    my church choir sings it.

  • Come home to Orthodoxy, open your souls.
