My Fave recent 'kiddie films' (although theyre 4 all ages) 1. How to train your dragon 2. legend of the guardians 3. harry potter and the deathly hallows part 2. HTTYD was awesome. ive read almost all of the books and loved the film and music. legend of the guardians had a crap storyline but owls are one of my fave animals (along with dragons (big) cats, phoenixs and hippogriffs / griffins) and the books (only up to 5 so far :/ ) were cool, loved all the awesome battle scenes. h.p was abit funny

About the movie TS3 i have seen more adult jokes and themes better understandable by an adult public (like the chilling flame waste disposal, the sexually ambiguos Ken and his feticism, the coldblooded and bastard Lotso, the coming of age of Andy and separation from childhood toys and so on) plus some impressive detailed scenes. And like Return of the king, the Academy award chose Toy Story to recognize and homage the CGI animated long cartoons, initiated by Toy Story in 1995

I'm 36, watched this movie dozens of times with my 3year old daughter. I envy her ability to believe in dragons so much!! I'm close to tears when I see her sincere admires with these cartoon adventures. Dreamworks made an astonishing job, real masterpiece. And another thing. I'm sure that Nightfury's manners (eye, ear, paw movements etc) were copied from cats. First i wished there were real dragons but now I just love my burmese cat a little more. Givin him more care, tenderness & hugs now:)

And finally I just want to say that Dreamworks managed to create the most cutest, soulful, vibrant and simply the best animated character of all time...and that's ofcourse Toothless.

Test Drive and Forbidden Friendship scenes alone were better than anything in TS3...those scenes are one of my favorite moments in movies ever and ofcourse lot of is also thanks to John Powell's amazing soundtrack, as well as the animation.

TS3 was another good movie from Pixar,but HTTYD clearly deserves the Oscar

Hm, maybe it has something that matches for many different scores. I don't know it remind's me avatar, dinosaur, alexander theme, braveheart, treasure planet... everything;p Maybe it is just because of simplicity of main melody.

I totally agree that overall Pixar has done overall better movies than Deamworks animations, but many people seem to think that Pixar is like some sort of "GoD", and that nothing Dreamworks do, could possibly beat them...well HTTYD did that imo this year, I know that many people disagree with me, but HTTYD simply was better movie than Toy Story 3, almost in every aspect...ofcourse the storyline in HTTYD wasnt the most original one, but it still was so much more enjoyable.

Imo TS3 just hadnt as much humor as HTTYD has and (except for the ending) it hadnt those touching moments that HTTYD had and overall I think TS2 was the best in the trilogy. Sure the story of TS3 was bit more original than HTTYD and it might have been also more appealing to adults, but HTTYD is one of those movies that I just want to watch over and over again, while TS3 just hadnt that kind of "movie magic".
