Not only that, but in Domon's and Sai's FIRST battle, after Domon's Shining Finger hit a Feilong Flag, he turned and used a left-handed Shining Finger on Sai's Dragon Gundam as the latter dove at him. In that match, Dragon Gundam's bendatto (the hair braid) wrapped around Shining Gundam's neck, FORCING Domon to accept a draw instead of finishing off Dragon Gundam because it would risk his own Gundam's head as well. In both battles, Sai uses his own power to beat the Glowing Face Palm of Doom.

Also might I mention this is one of my favorite scenes in the whole series because it shows so much of Sai Saici character.

I know that Domon was supposed to lead the Shuffle Alliance against the Dark/Devil Gundam, but I was really hoping that Sai Saici would win. Kid's got a lot of heart and fight in him.

Indeed, but in Bolt Gundam's case, the only thing that prevented it from happening was the knees of the gundam giving out, resulting in Argo unable to continue the match.

However, in Sai Saici's case, both his arms were destroyed, as well as his flags and the dragon ponytail. Yet he was still able to activate his super mode despite the imense pain and damage to his gundam, and completely destroy Domon's right burning finger up to the shoulder.

That's why I was hoping he won.

Since Argo did crack The Burning Finger, even if Sai Saichi is stronger, it's not by much. If Bolt Gundam was more durable, i'd say that fight might have went more differently.
