  • Valerie bertinelli is fuckin bangin

  • I don't recall alot about this show I was like 5 but shinider (spelling) was fun.

  • That Michael Lembeck guy either looks like a Broadway choreographer or a child molester, can't be sure which one.

  • Produced by Mr. Bud Wiser. Many people have forgotten or weren't even aware that Mr. Wiser's assistants were named Lowen Brough and Mickey Lobe.

  • Producer's name at 0:40. LOL!

  • I love Shelley Fabares!

  • Michael Lembeck has diverse talent. He's a great actor, comedian, director and singer. As as kid, I first saw him as Kaptain Kool. If the Krofft Brothers okayed it, I'd love to see "Kaptain Kool and the Kongs" reunite; for a one night special performance.

  • @14DaveHunter I agree on his diverse talent. He served me the best Slurpee at 7-11 last week in Tallahasse.

  • @somewhatlongdong

You talking about Tallahassee, FL? Was he part of a charity event and does he live there?

  • Wow! It's Valerie, Bert and Ernie!

  • who the heck were all these random dudes on the show? Miz Romano was a ho.

  • I remember seeing snippets of ODAAT re-runs, on TV, when I was a kid, but had absolutely no interest in watching the show. And maybe that was because the show was LONG before my time. But about a year and a half ago, they started re-airing it on TVLand, (now Comedy Gold) so I thought, "OK, maybe I'll give it a try." Hooked, after 2 episodes....lol. BUT.....the episode where Barbara's "friend" overdosed on drugs....that one creeped the HELL outta me.

  • Catchiest theme song around. They dont make theme songs like this anymore.

  • I love this show. I put it on my facebook. I was heartbroken when i went off the air. how about sone reruns. okay.

  • I remember when Family Guy made fun of this lol

  • MacKenzie looked way better in the 70s when she was skinner and doing her little dance in the opening instead of this..

  • LOL @ the producer of the show being named Bud Wiser.

  • There were almost as many regular cast members of this show during this time as there were in the 1st year of "Facts of Life"!

  • I noticed that MacKenzie Phillips never was featured in the final scene of the theme song after she was fired (and then rehired and fired again). It was like Norman Lear was saying "You will never be a part of the main cast again." JMO....

  • I loved this show! I had forgotten how many cast members there were in the final years though lol!!

  • I would still do Valerie Bertinelli and Marie Osmond keep your comments to yourself. i don't care if Valerie was 75 she would still look great in a Bikini :). She is a Fox!

  • I love how Bud Wiser produced it. Who was the director, Jack Daniels? Jim Beam? LOL

  • this is one of the things that got me throught my teenage years.

  • Boyd is so cute ^_^

  • Don't you think its disturbing that Glenn Scarpelli is holding those hot dogs on a stick with a smile on his face ? He was later outed as gay.

  • Haha he must have been drunk lol

  • produded by BID WEISER LOL WHAT A NAME

  • People may crap about her being 'fat', but Valerie Bertinelli was a hottie for her time.

She was like Serena from Gossip Girl, that half-Asian girl from Smallville and that over-acting anorexic chick from 90210 - all rolled into one.

  • @DENo1MatchGameFan, Thank you so much for clearing that up. I remember how the glass giraffe broke (a gift from Melanie) and she was devastated.

I asked people that watched that show and they were like "I dunno" and thought I was crazy and/or hallucinating.

Now on to Gimme A Break!

  • This makes me feel like vomiting.

  • Is it weird that back in '82 I had a crush on gross Mackenzie Phillips, I wanted to grow up to BE Schneider and Michael Lembeck's beard creeped me out?

  • That's not uncanny Mysterycat74, because back in 1982, MacKenzie Actually DID look good. She cleaned up from drugs, put on some weight and had it going on. During the middle of 1983 is where she started to look really bad in appearance due to that drug habit again.

  • @Mysterycat74

LOL! No more weird then the fact that we watched these shows. ;)

  • Seeing former Sid & Marty Krofft Kaptain Kool & the Kongs lead actor Michael Lembeck was the funniest bit of casting ever.

  • Dear SSerpent, Since when is being an alcholic better than being a

drug addict? That is just as dangerous as being a drug

    junkie!

  • I don't honestly understand how people can be so quick to jump on Mackenzie Phillips being a drug user and messing up her career, when in today's world you can be the biggest whore in Hollywood that you want; take all kinds of drugs, and basically be found passed out drunk in your own vomit and nothing is ever said. In fact, people almost praise it. To me that's a bit hypocritical.

  • To me it's just a shame, is all. She was such a gorgeous and talented woman who could've had anything in life she wanted. Instead she chose the coke.

  • are you from rushville?

  • @MisterBlue24 She says that her father shot her up with coke, taught her how to roll and crank up Marry Jane. You can't really fault her for her adictions. She learned that shit from her dad.

  • Remember that episode where Julie had this new friend who was real clingy and she attempted suicide by take a bottle of sleeping pills and called Julie. That episode scared the crap out of me.

Also - Ann Romano seriously needed a Prozac or some Xanax and Valerie still looks good, have you seen the WW commercials?

  • I agree! I only ever saw part one of that episode so I never found out what happened. Please, PLEASE, if someone has it, please upload it!!!!!!!!!

  • Yeah, in reading Mackenzie's book, in the picture from this show Valerie STILL LOOKS THE SAME a million years later! It's weird!

  • Actually, it was Barbara's friend Melanie that attempted the suicide.

  • Actually Barbara was the one who had the new friend (named Melanie) who tried to commit suicide with the pills - Julie had the friend with epilepsy that was working with Anne.

  • @hardtechnoboy

it was Barbara that had the Clingy freind

the girl thought that Cliff was in love with her and that Barbara

    stoled cliff from her....

  • @whitepuppysub Yes, thank you SOOOO much!. I was a kid then so when I watched television it was just flashes of stuff. I have to watch this series on dvd or if its on Netflix streaming.

  • Yes I like One Day At A Time and So Weird

  • I remember this show....god its been like 25 years...where the hell is the time going?

  • unfortunately, in the words of tracy lawrence "time marches on". i just wish it didn't have to go by so fast. *sigh*

  • :41 Produced by BUDWEISER?!

Damn, if only McKenzie Phillips drank instead of shooting dope.

  • Comment removed

  • best name ever BUD WISER

  • The show would have been better if it was just shneider and glenn scarpelli and they called its "glenns place" and only glenn lived there and shneider would visit one day at a time for 7 years!

  • Barbara, gets married in this season. Mackenzie, was fired in the 1983-84 season, that was her second firing since she was in 1980, and returned as a guest in the 1981-1982 season.

  • Drugs messed up her career at the time.

  • Comment removed

  • where have i seen shelly farbes

  • She was the wife on "Coach," or the daughter on "Donna Reed." Take your pick. =)

  • She played Christine Armstrong on Coach, "My fave show ever along with the Golden Girls"

  • ok, i remember now thanks :)

  • She sang Johnny Angel!

  • wow...looking back...Boyd Gaines and Michael Lembeck still look good in this clip...(embarrassed sigh) ^_^

  • im fom indianapolis hell ya!!!

  • "It's weird,she hasn't changed!"

Not exactly, she still looks good but the

    passage of time is obvious.

  • GLENN SCARPELLI is the best actor ever named glenn scarpelli..... he will one day win an oscar for his efforts , he commanded the stage and we should bow down to the king of all kings ...... long live mr scarpelli and his legand!!!

  • Produced by BUD WISER LOL

  • I used to LOVE this show... haven't seen it SINCE so I'm not sure if it's one that "stands the test of time" for me or not, but the theme can't be beat!

  • Valerie is so pretty...and still is!

  • It's weird,she hasn't changed!

  • Aren't there supposed to be episodes of this show posted somewhere on Youtube? I can't seem to find any. If anyone can help me find them, it would be greatly appreciated!

  • I remember traveling I-70 in 1982 as a kid.I grew up near Indianapolis and everytime I watch this it takes me back.

  • LMAO!!! Produced by Bud Wiser! (Budweiser)

  • What city did they live in again? Indianapolis?

  • Yeah. They moved their in the pilot (actually in the original theme song) from Logansport, which they reference throughout the series. One time when Boyd Gaines dated Bertinelli, he took her for a 'quick cup of coffee' - in Kokomo, IN.

  • bertinelli was hot and still is......... i think glenn scarpelli was and is the single most influential actor names glenn scarpelli...... there will never , ever be another glenn like you mr scarpelli!!!!! long live the shark!!!

  • Scarpelli sucked. He ruined the show with his shit acting.

  • lol ya it boyd gaines,i knew he looked familiar,i googled it and ya he was the teacher on porky's

  • Bud Wiser could produce the HECK out of a tv sitcom, let me assure you.

  • Who are all these people?

  • Damn it Schneider!!

  • I don't remember shelley fabraes ever being on one day at a time

  • She played Anne's nemesis Francine Webster starting when she worked at Connors & Davenport in 1978. When Nick Handris (Ron Rifkin's) character got killed by a drunk driver, she convinced Anne to let her take over his part of their advertising business, and was a regular from 1981 to 1984.

  • Boyd Gaines...wasn't he the gym teacher who screwed Kim Cattrall (spelling?) in PORKY's?!?! :-O

  • NOOOO WAYYYYY!!!,,,does it say here it was produced by BUD WISER!???...anybody else catch that one?

  • yep, that's budweiser, too funny.

  • Schneider can kiss my ass.

  • how can you not like valerie bertinelli...so cute...

  • Valerie was the hottest teen of TV back then!!

  • she is! proof that you can still be hot in middle age!

  • I think this show had more cast changes over the years than any other show I can think of.

  • Mackenzie was fired for good, after her return in 1981. 1983 was her second firing, which was permanent.

  • cool...i used to watch this as a kid!

i loved the episodes with Richard Masur...he's a great comedic actor!

  • Valerie Bertinelli..hot back then and even hotter now at 47!!

  • The good ole sitcoms !!

These were great to watch back than. Thanks for posting. Reminded me of my growing up without a care in the world !!

    THANKS !!

  • Valerie Bertinelli looks the same even at 47.....

  • I liked the earlier episodes of this show a lot better then these later ones, still love the theme song though and Valerie is still addictively cute. I noticed this was produced by Bud Wiser. He's a goodfella.

  • the montage is just a bunch of clips of people randomly talking .. not indicative of your standard 80s theme opening w/ lots of scripted antics giggles

  • That season there were two people that worked with Elvis Presley. Pat and Shelly. That is awsome!!!!!!! Carl

  • wow, Shelley Fabares was in this series? She's hot, i had a crush on her from the Donna Reed show (reruns)

  • She played Francine Webster, who was Anne's nemesis when they both worked for Connors & Davenport, and then she was a partner in Anne & Nick's firm after Nick was killed in a car accident.

  • They show I-70, that runs through our city east and west...also I see parts of Downtown in the opening when they show the interstate...also I forgot about Mark, who married Barbara...he was a cutie!

  • ann dated his father but the father was killed in a car crash so the kid moved in.

  • who is that weird glenn kid?

  • Glenn Scarpelli was a late addition to the show - actor later came out as gay as a $3 bill - LOL. I don't remember what the story was about his character.

  • He and his single dad were originally the Coopers' next-door neighbors, but the dad was killed off-screen. So the Coopers "adopted" the boy (or more accurately, took him in as a foster family).

  • Guess you forgot the point of the show, as Anne Romano was a feminist, and kept her last name. Julie and Barbara were named Cooper until they got married, as Ed Cooper was Ann's ex-husband.

  • Actually, while Ann was married, she used her married name. She took back her maiden name after she got divorced, and she continued to use it after she married Sam Royer.

  • seriously .. the producer was really named Bud Wiser?

  • YEP.

  • MAN this bringz back memories

  • Produced by Bud Weiser? I never noticed that before at 00:39

  • Didn't Scarpelli try for the karate kid part that Macchio got?

  • the song on the cd should have changed key instead of staying in D throughout the song

  • Another one of my top 5 favorite themesongs! Also another one that I once tape recorded ofthe TV when I was a kid! I WORSHIPED Schneider! I wanted to BE him! (WEIRD!) and I thought Mackenzie Phillips was hot (Even WEIRDER!)

  • Did this show ever have a reunion show? Those have been real popular...would love to see what they are all doing now. Loved this show. My favorite episodes were when Julie ran away from home.

  • Yes, CBS had a reunion show with the core cast (Franklin, Phillips, Bertinelli, and Harrington) in 2005.

  • The reunion show is included on the DVD set for the first season, but they neglected to mention it on the packaging.

  • Poor Mackenzie Phillips had to suffer the indignity of being billed in the credits *after* Glenn Scarpelli, Shelley Fabares, and Boyd Gaines. That's what happens when you do drugs, kids.

  • That is flippin' hilarious but true. On a positive note, she was making more than those people that were billed before her.

  • I could never STAND that Glen Scarpelli kid. But, damn, does Shelly Fabares ever age? She was on one of the original Twilight Zones and still looks good decades later. I think she's the female Dick Clark!

  • Shelley Fabares was featured on Bonnie Franklin's "Intimate Portrait," and she looked horrible! Her hair was colored like an 80's punk rocker.

  • @testpress Shelley Fabares looked horrible when she was on Bonnie Franklin's "Intimate Portrait"!

  • This is IT!

(keep on doing what you do)

  • Supposedly I've met Glenn a few times when I was little (or so my mom says), but I don't remember him. He's my cousin's cousin. Anyway thanks for uploading this theme, I always liked this show.

  • Michael Lembeck is so sexy! Yet it turned out that Glenn Scarpelli was the f a g. Shoot. Why are all the cutest ones straight? Anyone want a copy of Glenn's pathetic mini-album?

  • Thanx for the upload!! Now I've seen seasons 1, 2, 3, 4, & 8...5 seasons down...4 more 2 see! hahaha! The 1979-82 seasons and the 83-84...But this is awesome!! I NEVA thought I;d see it EVA! Thanks soo much!!

  • Actually there is more. There is another version to this season withouth Mack Phillips and Michael Lembeck. I have that one also and there are several versions for the last season. I have one of the several. When there is time, I will try to upload.
