  • @piggybankvillan But where do i find the notes - Do, re mi... do. One guys said i only need one note and then just change the pitch of it and then somehow configure it in game maker with defined pitches or something. Idk how to do it, i only program stuff not music enviroment

  • @Havk995 I lost the file to this game so I honestly have no idea how I did the notes. I do remember I had different notes for this game and not one single modified note.. I'm not familiar with coding sounds or if you could even do it in GM though. You could try finding free sound effects and edit them in another program like Sony Vegas or something.

  • more like gitar hero atari

  • cool effects :D

good job. i like guitar hero!

  • @inlinesk8ter1 Thanks! :)

  • download link ?????

  • @gabriel9873412874329 Okay, I put it in the description.

  • zomfg the sound quality is so nice...........is best shredz64............a lot best, is a gh for commodore, and it really rocks

  • love it so cool dude!

but make a background music :D

  • @gametutorial10 Thank you! Unfortunately I lost all my GM files because I got a new computer. :(

Also, thanks for not saying "TH@T'$ N0T NES THARTS ATARII!U!I!@#$#!!!!"- a lot of people do that and it drives me insane. xD

  • Lol, song 2 is that nasty mario music.

  • nes with 4 bottuns... you could make a fake ddr but no...

  • wow u get 35000 sooo fast i need to get full marks to get it :)

  • Hmmm I think that NES could use better images but couldn't use the particles effects that you are using

  • This is atari!

  • and you still missed notes thats sad

  • wtf?! This Sucks sooooo much.

  • @toocoolfilm *sigh*

  • wtf is this?

  • @ProBasketball19 Game I made.

  • actually it is capable just check out d-pad hero on the nes its a rom

  • werev u get yo sprites

  • @AwsomeNinjaVids I make all my own sprites.

  • @piggybankvillan i suck at makin sprites... u wanna make some for my new game.

    ???

  • @AwsomeNinjaVids I'm not the best either. Go to Game Maker's forum and learn some tips from people who are really, REALLY good at making sprites and animating them. You could probably even request some done there. :)

  • iww

  • horrible music no offence really, but awesome!

  • None taken. It's hard to create these "songs" or I should really say, beats so of course they'd turn out, well, not-so-good. Thanks! :)

  • I would like to just point out with regards to the sparks that the NES did produce some pretty amazing stuff; even though it was 8-bit, that doesn't mean it was limited to the choppy appearance of Super Mario Bros. or The Legend of Zelda. Later games for the system, esp. those released in the 1990s, could do some pretty sweet graphics. In other words, this video IS actually pretty dead-on as far as what NES GH would've been. I'm very impressed and amused.

  • Well, even if the NES could make spark effects in the video, the graphics are just a little too plain in my opinion, as you said, the NES can produce FAR better than what I did in the video here. Despite that, I did make some improvement in the graphics in my other gameplay videos. Although it was hard since there were many sprites that were already created. Thanks, appreciate the comment! :)

  • @SmashBroRazz I agree. Konami, Capcom, Tecmo and Sunsoft were 4 very talented companies that really wanted to push the NES hardware past its limits.

  • why the fuck does everyone keep bitching about it, you all should be thankful the people that made this took thier fucking time to present it to us....(assholes) anyways, nice vid

  • If anything, I'm just fed up with telling people over and over again about the same thing. Not to mention they don't bother to look up my newer GH: NES videos. However, thanks for the comment. :)

  • the NES was an 8 bit system and the sparks look like 32 bit

  • Looks good, but it looks kind of like an Atari game.

  • Why does it sound so bad? A real nes could kick this things ass. Atari, even.

  • Read the description?

  • I need this with no hypercam thing at the top...

  • I recently got the registered version of HyperCam so there is no more of that annoying bar at the top. However, I stil cannot figure out how to fix the sound.

  • Nintense!

  • can you make a tutorial on like how to make the sound when u click the buttons and how to make the rock meter thingy

    that would be great

    thanks

  • Okay, I'll try to do so. I got a new computer however, so I lost my Game Maker files but I think I can make that by scratch.

  • ok great thanks!

  • Did you use game maker?

  • Yes I did.

  • Seeing as this is my most popular video. I'd like to thank everyone who watched it, rated it, favorited, etc. Just to clarify, yes, I do believe some things in the game aren't actually possible through limitations on the NES. Therefore, I am creating a new GH-like game. (No name yet) but it'll have some guitar sounds or possibly even actual songs. (Heavens forbid what YouTube's WMG would actually let the song be on the video) I have to say, it's by far my best GH clone so far.

  • I dont think those tiny blasts every time you hit a note could be replicated on the NES

  • READ THE FICKING DESCRIPTION DUMBASS

  • wow calm down. i said they couldnt be replicated on the NES and it couldnt be done on the NES back in 1980's anyways.

  • lol btw fear the capitals anyway sorry felt evil :P

  • Un jeu musical sans musique... C'est un peu comme un jeu de foot sans ballon, un shoot'em up où on ne peut pas tirer. Il manque l'essentiel, quoi !

  • Looks more like 'Guitar hero atari 2600'

  • Awesome! This would awesome if it was real. If it was real it would be like ancient and every video game collectors dream to have it. GOOD JOB!!

  • Hey, isn't this on yoyogames? Did you use game maker?

  • how do you make the rock'o meter?

  • Well I made the red, yellow and green part as scenery and for every note you miss, the needle goes down a certain amount and for every one you hit it goes up a certain amount. Then I put invisible objects on the sides where you'd fail and where you want the green part to stop. Make it so when needle has a collision with the object on the green side not making it move anymore and if it collides with the red side then you fail and have to restart.

  • Not bad, but it should be at least as good as the C64 version

  • I think the download link is in the description of this video.

  • Wow, almost 36,000 views! Thanks everyone!

  • LOL song 1 and song 2

  • just 2 fucking songs,today we talk about more than a 100 songs !!!

  • JUST 2? Your complaining? I don't think that you realise HOW HARD IT ACTUALLY IS to make a game!

  • lol only 2 songs

  • Has a lot more now. Check out newer gameplay videos.

  • looks more like atari 2600 graphics D:

  • Thats what I was thinking..

  • jajajajajajajajajajaja qqq cool!!!

  • LOL

  • I amped up the graphics a bit in the newer gameplay videos. Be sure to show me your game when it's done. Possibly post a video response?

  • looks like it was made in powder game

  • Powder game?

  • yes.a really fun sand game

  • hard to find uses for the viruses though... =(

  • What's with the particle effects? that doesn't work with 8-bits.

  • I said it too many times so I'm officially never answering it again. I wanted there to be something there to determine whether you hit the notes or not so I put something in the mean time.

  • were can u download it!!!!!!1

  • sux the nes could play rock you like a hurricane pretty good and you wasted your audio on squishes!

  • wow......exciting..................Zzzz

  • u made with game maker pro?

  • Yep. You can even make it in GM Lite too just take away the particle effects.

  • Looks more like 2600

  • The only noise in this is a bunch of squeak-like sound effects. If there was any music involved, it's not there.

    Otherwise, cool project!

  • i love this song!!!

  • Looks more like Atari with ultra fast moving pixels and misplaced exploding effects (they look too good) but overall pretty cool.

  • In gameplay videos following this one, I inhanced the graphics a bit more. I been meaning to get rid of the exploding effect since I just left it there so I won't forget to add something there later on. Though, I pretty much abandoned the project...

  • well it's cool nonetheless.

  • the silence song? o.o

  • Can you not hear it? Did you turn your speakers up? I need to know to make sure it's nothing wrong with the video's sound.

  • Well its terriblely quiet

  • Yeah, I don't have any fancy pants recording system and don't feel like blowing money on something I'd use like 8 times, tops... So I just use HyperCam which somehow captures sound; but very lowly.

  • why didnt you convert songs with GXSCC and put them on insted of using that whatever it is

  • it looks NES but it also looks like it sucks to me

  • bleahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • Guitar Hero + Atari = Guitari!

  • That is a really good name for a guitar Atari game. :)

  • lol

  • it's atari version?

  • That looks and sounds nothing like an NES game.

  • Read the description. If only YouTube wasn't filled with ignorant people...

  • "the style of the NES."

Which it looks and sounds nothing like.

  • It has got many graphic boosts since this. Can you not see the "gameplay footage 01" part. (then again, aparently no one does...) I seem to notice you can't tell what the NES sound effects are. It's not the music, they are sound effects.

  • I might be crazy cuz I'm hearing the mario theme here.

  • It looks good, but the video needs some sound, dude

  • The chart is not bad but the graphics suck......

  • Thanks. The graphics kind of updated with future videos. Though, then again, it was supposed to suck. :)

  • alot of points for one hit dont u think??

But anyway i luv it :))

  • I'm sure you can make more NESish particles by making a separate object, with no events but to destroy when it leaves the room boundaries.

  • Yeah, I know. I was going to add some squares that shoot out instead. This is the first gameplay video so I had to implement something in the mean time. As the game progressed, it felt like too much of a hassle. I aborted the project until further notice so it won't be implemented for a long while.

  • I don't think that's a NES game you've made. The NES probably can't handle particle effects like that, with alpha transparency.

  • Read description.

  • i c wat u did there

  • remind me why that was marked as spam again.

  • is game suck

  • Are you asking if the game sucks or saying the game sucks? I don't get you. :|

  • The songs Song 1,Song 2.Lol.

  • Pretty cool, I'm making a Guitar Hero-esque game with Game Maker too.

    I think it's worth downloading.

  • Ooo really? What's it called? I might play it. :)

  • I meant your game is worth downloading. I just started mine about a week ago. Most of the programming is done, I'm working on mapping the notes now. I'll send you a link when I finish it.

  • Thanks and thanks!

  • send me one too!

  • You should reply to him. XD

  • The music is actually there or you will add something like 8 bit MIDIs later?

  • I might. It depends if I want to carry on this project. Because I have plans for another Guitar Hero-like game.

  • Nice particle effects for the NES. (yes, I know this is not on the NES.) Other then that, where can I download this? :)

  • oops, I forgot to read the description on where to download, sorry!

  • It's okay. You can also search it on Google and go to YoYoGames as an alternate way.

  • More like Guitar Hero Atari. And it sucks. Game Maker 7 is stupid.

  • 1.) Look at the new videos...

    2.) You never played it...

3.) 7.0's only downfall is lag...

    4.) 7.0 isn't bad by no means...

    5.) Your reasons suck...

  • Nice try at a comeback. lololol

  • What are you talking about? :\

  • What the fuck are you talking about

Atari could only support like 2 colors, this is closer to NES

  • that's guitar hero colecovision

  • Awesome job.

  • Thanks to you too. :)

  • Haha... doesnt it piss you off when people dont read the description? xD

    Great job, looks nice.

  • Thanks! :)

  • YoYo Games Gamemaker game. I can tell because of the particle effects.

  • Indeed. Says in the description it is. :)

  • cool. Good job.

  • that was not nes that was atari or it is nes reply back to me

  • Neither! IT was actually a game I made using Game Maker 7.0. Nice tool to use if you want to make games. I suggest you look it up if your interested in that kind of thing for a start for a career. ;)

  • PHAIL i got 90000 on both songs mwhaha!

  • looks more like guitar hero for the atari 2600 than the nes

  • Lol, man you are lier ;]

It's game made for windows in game maker to look like for NES. It does not, because you added particle that is specific for game maker and it's 32bit color ;]

  • lol that is what it really would look like but it looks ike atari

  • hahaha pretty damn sweet.

    just...um....wheres the star power?

  • Thankies. I tried to implement star power but it was harder than I thought... So in the newer videos, I made "shredder notes" which give you a big score bonus when hit.

  • nah, this is atari 2600, no nes

    :D

  • what song was that? :)

  • the particle effects defeat the whole 8-bit style.

  • i agree... and the rest of the grafics looks like Atari or something...

  • that is the best graphic in the world

  • Ahah, I'd laugh so hard if it was actually an old NES game. Then I'd say NES had ALL the games possible ever! XD

  • so cool... please finish this cause i want to try it :D

  • Nope, it's real but you're right it's not the actual Guitar Hero.

  • Guitar Hero is owned by Activision, they can put it on any console they want because they're 3rd party

  • you obviously don't understand the difference between a publisher and the console developer >_>

  • MS Paint is the power.

  • ms paint is noobish photoshop is power

  • id try it!

  • Nice,

  • wow that is such a gay version of guitar hero.... is this even a real game??....if it is its pretty gay!!

  • I made this moron. If these God damn people ever use common sense and read the description once in a while, they may get even the teeniest aspect on what to comprehend instead of commenting around like a mindless idiot... Ugh, I'm in a bad mood, so don't take it too harshly...

  • hey, i want to try game maker but it says something about my graphics card and the resolution and stuff like. because so it wont let me use game maker. someone help?

  • Have you tried going to your control panel and click display? Then go to your "setting" tab. That's where the screen resolution is. Then just fiddle around with it.

  • i tried that. i put it to the highest then to the lowest screen resolution. still didn't work.

  • where can i get gamemaker?

  • YoYoGames(.)com wihtout the parenthesis. You can then download the software from there for free. If you want and I'd suggest this, buy the $20 pro edition so you get every feature on it. Limited edition has basically everything you need for games like platformers, mazes, puzzles, etc though so you don't have to buy it.

  • this is frigin retarded! TWO songs? Guitar Hero World Tour will have 85!!!!

  • Umm apparently you didn't read the dexcription... I made this game for the PC. Using a program called Game Maker. It currently has 24 songs... It's not an actual GH game... But it's a similar concept so I called it GH.

  • i want to get guitar hero on nes with 8-bit renditions of the songs, if possible you should do that!

  • Sucks. 2 songs are 45 seconds each. I get bored in 2 minutes...

  • There's way more than 2 songs... I believe there is 24.
