oh shit, I used to fuck with these commercials so hard. Now i remember why the Crab Man always looked familiar. AND that was totally Stanley from The Office
Actually Stanely is in nearly almost everyone of these Rubberband Man commercials. Wikipedia mentioned it under Leslie David Baker (the guy who plays Stanley) as being in these commercials. So I sought out to see if it was the case, and sure enough!
ever notice that the man cutting paper with the cuter paper never looks at what he is doing in all these commercials and almost chops his fingers off lol

I didn't remember seeing this one on TV. Thank you for posting it here. These are now classic feel-good commercials. I love watching them! The "making of" video is really the best one though.
I remember this ad right after Christmas 2004. During the holidays that year the Rubberband Man ad was made into a Rankin/Bass claymation type commercial.
Hey, the African-American fellow blowing his nose 27 seconds into the clip is Stanley from The Office! Who'da thunk that some day he'd end up on that show and The Rubberband Man would be on My Name Is Earl?
I would agree that so-called "political correctness" has gotten out of hand and is more insensitive than the language it seeks to replace. "African-American" is merely a euphemism for "black" that we've been programmed to apply to *anyone* with dark skin, regardless of their ancestry. That said, the actor (Leslie David Baker) is from Chicago, and I don't know about you, but the way he blew his nose there *clearly* had an air of post-modern American mores.
