I Still Have This Game The Grapics Are Just Wow And My Little Bro And SIs Play This It Awsome I Just Use The Back Of The Car To Drive And Not To Get Smash Up And Its A Good Metohd ^^
The playstation version had more realistic lookin cars cuz of body shape, but N64 version had way way better physics. There's no arguing to that cuz I own both.
I loved this game more than my own family. That's not actually true, but I stole this game from my best friend any chance I could. I loved it. Anyone remember the bomb tag gametype? Probably the most anxiety I'll ever face in my whole life.
yeh pole position. it was pretty bad man. i was disapointed and i was like 10 years old. i was rarely disapointed with games at that age. i remember thinking i just wasted a christmas preasant on this game hahaha. spoiled little shit back in the day.
and i am thankfull that DD2 is harder. DD64 is so fucking easy. A friend of mine picked up the game recently and called me in the evening saying "can it be that dd64 is damn easy". He had completed the whole game in one sitting, won every race in the first try. Honestly, there is no real challenge in DD64. DD2 is way better (better visuals, more cars onscreen, more damage options on the car and better physics overall, better music). Unbelievable that DD2 is 3 years older and looks better than 64
i also have to say that DD 2 on playstation was better than DD 64. On DD64 the cars did not look nearly as good as on the PS and (what is more important) the physics were extremely limited on the n64. On the PS you not only lost your hood and trunk but also wheels, if you lost a wheel you had worse controls and you could also break axles. What also sucks in the N64 version is that there is no hit zone detection, your car takes damage no matter where it gets hit, so your tactics are limited.
AGREED. The rush series was by far one of my fav racing games of all time. Rush 2 seemed to have so much stuff crammed into it. The mountain dew racer was awesome. Then LA Rush was a try to be like Midnight club crap.
Why did I get thumbs down? I called him today and he said he's addicted to it. He's even still playing right now. I keep asking him to return it though...
This game looks pretty fun. I have seen a few rip offs from Need For Speed 3: Hot Pursuit though, such as a few things from the first track, the menu music sounds about the same as well.
this was my favorite game on the n6, i thought it have the caliber to beat burn out with the new games that came to the ps2 but i was wrong, i didnt like those to much
So you're judging the games just by watching the videos of it? You should first try the game out before making an opinion. IMO the controls of DDRaw is a bit fancy.
And btw, how are you suddenly talking about DDRaw now, while yesterday you didn't even knew much about it? It's also quite funny that you have signed in Youtube yesterday and only watched this video. Your style of writing is also pretty similar with AimalCool's style...
"in dd2 tha cars ar ugly and dd2 doesnt hve effct and its not real."
Well DD2 looks good when you compared with the other games made by the same age (1996). I don't understand what you mean by "effect"... And the game doesn't have to feel real to be a good game (if that's what you meant). DD2 is nicely arcade with lots of destruction and insanity.
Only thing I agree with that is the music. Don't know 'bou "faster", but Fear Factory and Cirrus rules! But what come sto gameplay, the cars feel too light to drive. Not as massive as what they are in DD2.
This game looks like a race game while its named as Destruction derby 64, The only DD game which is real carnage, destruction, cars, jumps, points, more modes is Destruction Derby Raw which I got for my PS1. DD Raw is made in 2000 and is the second-newest DD game but DD Raw is about modes and destruction at the top.

Well, maybe there is tons of game modes in Raw, but I personally think that the DD2 is the best of the serie. DD2's gameplay is almost perfect for a (destruction) racing game, everything handles like it should. Raw's gameplay is quite bad (slow turns x__x), and it ruins many things from it.
What comes about this one, it doesn't look even fun to play. Too arcade or something. Cars are in space and shit...
Yes, but DD2 is saying that you drive about 140 kph while it looks like 70 kph.
In Raw it goes really, so about 80 kph.
And anyway, it turns slow because the effect is real. In DD2, there is effect of years years ago, so fantasy ones. You are saying that Raw is not fun to play. I think it is fun. There is Skyscraper where you can crash and race on flats. The other cool thing is that Raw got Pass Da Bomb as well. But I really dont know which is better. But I still think DD Raw dude.
DDR doesn't feel "real" at all. If I want to play simulation, handling based on real driving, I pick up Gran Turismo rather than DDR.
At least DD2, you don't have to use breaks on every turn. It's ridiculous in Raw, when there's just a tiny twist in the track, and you have to slow your speed down all the way to the zero (almost).
Well lets see that dude. I live in London in the UK. I still remember when DD Raw came out. Its made by Pygognis or something like that, and its made by Studio 33 as well. DD1, 2 & 3 was only made by the Pygognis or something like that, DD Raw had studio 33 which made DD Raw a top game dude, it was made somewhere in the central of the UK, not London. Well dude, if you would play DD Raw, I think you would like it and say to yourself; Oh I like this game! Aimal from YouTube was right!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
So you're saying that the reason you liked the DD Raw so much, was because it was made by some London game studio? That doesn't sound like a good reason for anything.
I actually have DD Raw in my game collection, so your last phrase was all off. I'm still not changing my opinion, I don't like Raw as much as the second DD.
No, silly! What I mean is not the reason I like is because I live in London! I said it, cause I remember how it was. Anyway, DD1, DD2 and DD3 sucks, they are not real, cars are in piece of shit there, there is no graphic or destruction!
DD64 is much better, DD64 does got graphic and real car racing but DD64 don`t have destruction. But DD Raw got everything, much much better and realistic, so is DD Arenas, very cool. But DD Raw is better: excellent!
But the studio's destination has nothing to do with this conversation. It doesn't affect to anything.
Well, graphically DD1 and DD2 were quite poor, but what more can you expect with a game that's made in 1994-1996? Not much. But what comes about the "destruction", they got it twice more than what DDRaw had.
I know, graphics! That is the really poor thing of DD1 and DD2. Destruction too. Studio 33 should make a DD7 for PS3. DD1=DD1 DD2=DD2 DD3=DD3 DD64=DD4 DDRaw=DD5 DDArenas=DD6 Raw is actually Destruction Derby 5.
Well, I'm from Finland (in Europe too), so that's quite funny I haven't heard of it. I saw your video and... well it didn't look like much. Like some sort of beta. Are you sure it's really a part of Destruction Derby-serie?
Then I highly doubt that it's made by Reflections or Studio 33. There's nothing mentioned about the game in their homepage. I guess it's some sort of spinoff from other company, eh?
Can you show me an actual video, where there's moving pictures, not just boring screenshots?
Well that doesn't prove anything. "DDRawLover" and "Plekepe" might as well be your own multi-accounts, we don't know for sure. I demand to see some REAL footage of the game. Then I'll believe you.
Man, you seem really like to discuss about this topic.
I checked it. And DD3 sounds like pretty much the same as Raw, with all the tricks, tracks and stuff. Still, there's not much of a video "evidence" about the game. Not that I won't believe you otherwise, but it would be nice to see some footy. BETTER quality than the last clip.
And since you brought up the Arenas, let's talk some about it too. It's way too arcade for a destruction racing game (just like DD64 seems to be like), but for somehow it's still nice to play.
Best graphics ever? More like lowest polygon count/viewing distance ever. While the N64 certainly had a few good looking and a bunch of fun games, I definitely prefer the pixelated but well modeled look of playstation games over the blocky but filtered look of the n64.
I agree, theres no doubt that the n64 was more powerful when you look at Nintendo, Rare, Iguana, Factor 5 games, but the ps1 had better racing developers.
I think you missed my point. What I'm saying is, the N64 was pretty weak when it comes to graphics. As for racing games, I think it definitely had its' racing games as well with Mario Kart, F-Zero X and the Extreme-G games.
The ps1 was mostly alot weaker - but had many great games, especially racing, fighting and rpgs. I have both consoles, but I know no game on my ps1 came or comes close graphically to Goldeneye, Perfect dark, Turok 2, Banjo 1&2, Conker BDF, Zelda, rogue squadron, shadowman...(games actually designed for the n64 and not butchered when ported)When it came to 'realistic' racing, graphically the ps1 easily topped all n64 racers (apart from world driver) and the same went for fighting.
the music of sea scape sprint is just epic :D:D

There is no "Destruction Derby 3". It's just DD1, DD2 and RAW. Then Arenas on PS2 and DD64 on N64.
CrocodileFunkee 3 years ago
There is a DD3.
But you don`t know, because it was only popular in Belgium, France, Holland, Germany, Spain, Denmark and UK. (Only Europe)
The most people in the US don`t even know DD3.
But the selling of DD3 was poor.
Actually DD3 is next to DD64.
I`ve got DD3, its a very good game, its like Raw, the graphics are good too.
I made a video of DD3 named PS1 Pictures - Destruction Derby 3.
Search on YouTube PS1 Pictures - Destruction Derby 3.
AimalCool 3 years ago
Well, I'm from Finland (in Europe too), so that's quite funny I haven't heard of it. I saw your video and... well it didn't look like much. Like some sort of beta. Are you sure it's really a part of Destruction Derby-serie?

Yes, it is.
I got DD3 game for my PS1, I made that video (PS1 Pictures - DD3) by DD3.
Well it wasn`t really popular in Finland, they were most popular in Belgium, France, Holland, Germany, Spain, Denmark and UK.
But I like Destruction Derby 3, you watched the video, I think you liked it.
Its true, the graphics are so good, like Raw.
DDArenas and DD64 is more racing game as you said. DD1 and 2 are old, not good graphics and destruction.
DD3 and DDRaw got the best graphics ever!!
AimalCool 3 years ago
It's quite funny too that Wikipedia nor Google can't find any articles about Destruction Derby 3. It's hard to believe you.
But please, stop hyping the Raw and 64 all the time. I've already told you my opinion and I don't like 'em. You know the reasons.
CrocodileFunkee 3 years ago 3
Yeah, I know.
I will stop hyping. ;)
Well, I got DD3, but I already told you that the selling of DD3 was very poor.
Also because DD3 is now 8 years. (like Raw)
But Raw was much much more popular and the selling was very high.
Wikipedia and other search engines can`t find it, because the selling in 2000 of DD3 was poor, and most people don`t know DD3.
Some people got DD3 (like me).
But DD3 is a very good game and the graphics are very good! Its like Raw.
I searched on Yahoo!, it couldn`t find DD3

Then I highly doubt that it's made by Reflections or Studio 33. There's nothing mentioned about the game in their homepage. I guess it's some sort of spinoff from other company, eh?
Can you show me an actual video, where there's moving pictures, not just boring screenshots?
CrocodileFunkee 3 years ago
I am sorry, my friend has got it, I gave it to him a few days ago.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Ok, then I guess you're just bullshitting...
CrocodileFunkee 3 years ago
What does bullshitting means?
AimalCool 3 years ago
Hey, Im not.
Go to that video again of PS1 Pictures - DD3, Plekepe and DDRawLover sended me a comment, they got Destruction Derby 3.
AimalCool 3 years ago
Well that doesn't prove anything. "DDRawLover" and "Plekepe" might as well be your own multi-accounts, we don't know for sure. I demand to see some REAL footage of the game. Then I'll believe you.
CrocodileFunkee 3 years ago
Well, thats not my multi-account.
I only got AimalCool, believe me!
This is the true.

AimalCool is right, look at tha comments of that vid again

DD3 is made by Studio 33.
Search Wikipedia.

Mate, I agree, it would have been better with 'gameplay'. Even I have it, but it doesn't work. Damn it!
I have a lot of games on PS1 that doesn't work anymore, such as DD3, Tekken 3, MGS, SCARS, Max Power Racing etc.
I'm really worried about my games being broken now =(

I was wrong, this is right: DD3=DD4, DD64=DD3.

And since you brought up the Arenas, let's talk some about it too. It's way too arcade for a destruction racing game (just like DD64 seems to be like), but for somehow it's still nice to play.

damn the only thing i hated about this game was the really touchy hood. barely tap something and it goes flying off.

I'm more accustomed to this version over other ones in the series.
I would love to see a true sequel to the series.

lol i still remember that womans annoying voice after not playing this for years "CHECKPOINT!"

Man, that they didn't put more effort into this port. The carmodels are the same level of detail as in the PS1 games!

lol i used to think this game had the best graphics ever!! wow gaming has evolved
77chevk1500 4 years ago
Best graphics ever? More like lowest polygon count/viewing distance ever. While the N64 certainly had a few good looking and a bunch of fun games, I definitely prefer the pixelated but well modeled look of playstation games over the blocky but filtered look of the n64.
1337Shockwav3 4 years ago
I agree, theres no doubt that the n64 was more powerful when you look at Nintendo, Rare, Iguana, Factor 5 games, but the ps1 had better racing developers.
liveswired 4 years ago
I think you missed my point. What I'm saying is, the N64 was pretty weak when it comes to graphics. As for racing games, I think it definitely had its' racing games as well with Mario Kart, F-Zero X and the Extreme-G games.
1337Shockwav3 4 years ago
The ps1 was mostly alot weaker - but had many great games, especially racing, fighting and rpgs. I have both consoles, but I know no game on my ps1 came or comes close graphically to Goldeneye, Perfect dark, Turok 2, Banjo 1&2, Conker BDF, Zelda, rogue squadron, shadowman...(games actually designed for the n64 and not butchered when ported)When it came to 'realistic' racing, graphically the ps1 easily topped all n64 racers (apart from world driver) and the same went for fighting.
liveswired 4 years ago 2
You`re right PS1 is weak but got great games.

This DD seemed really strange. The last DD game before all the stupid "power ups" but still not as good as the first 2.

If you want to get high scores use the Taxi.
I'm on legend stage now, nearly completed the campaign mode.
badwolf66 4 years ago
I completed all of 'em, i've got all the secret cars. The best car is the hotrod, which you get by winning sunset canyon's time trial.
