I click randomly through songs of this band, that I just recently stumbled upon by accident - no one here in Germany seems to know about them - and EVERY SINGLE ONE of it ends up in my favourites. Aber ist schon schlimm, oder? Ich musste die Band all meinen Freunden erst wirklich vorstellen/-spielen, weil sie hier kein Schwein zu kennen scheint. Ich hoffe, die Jungs schaffen hier 'nen ganz großen Durchbruch :)

@CalamityCain in meinem freundeskreis konnte ich auf jeden fall schon einige neue fans finden. aber zu erfolgreich sollten sie auch nicht werden - nicht dass ich's ihnen nicht gönne, die verdienen alles erdenkbar gute. aber umso mehr leute es hören desto mehr leute sind da die es nicht so ganz verstehen find ich. und Gaslight Anthem sind ne band mit hintergrund und einstellung, finde ich. ich finds relativ wichtig dass fans einer band sich damit identifizieren können.

Auch wieder wahr. Ich bin mir zwar sicher, dass die sich niemals zu sehr kommerzialisieren lassen würden, aber diese Art Band, die so viel Herzblut und Liedtext-Stoff zum Nachdenken gibt, bleibt sowieso ein Geheimtipp, weil das - leider - einfach zu wenig Leute interessiert. Aber man muss sich auch wirklich nicht mit allem identifizieren können, was man anhört, finde ich. Wenn ich zu viele Bands kennen würde, die mich dermaßen bewegen, wie Gaslight Anthem, wär' ich längst irre ;-)

@CalamityCain haha "no one here in Germany seems to know about them" ist das dein ernst? die waren auf allen großen festivals, die tour letztes jahr war gut besucht das köln konzert war total schnell ausverkauft... 09 waren sie als vorband von social distortion auf tour... keiner kennt sie hättest du vlt 2008 noch schreiben können ;)

Right on, man! Good thing about Gaslight Anthem is, that nobody can simply say that it *sucks*. Worst I've heard about them was an unimagniary "I just don't like guitar music" ;-) Which I can accept, some people just need the braindead stuff, to each his own. Guess there's not a lot of bands that are as hard to hate as the Anthem, huh?

@CalamityCain I met one person who claimed that Gaslight was overrated and that Fake Problems was a way better band. I asked him if he could back up his statement with some examples, and he said that he couldn't and Fake Problems was just a better band. Fake Problems is a good band, but their singer is nowhere close to Brian Fallon.

Okay, so I *can* see how the guy'd compare the bands, but I sure won't. I'm no musician, I can't back up why I love the music I do love with any "scientific" facts. In the end it just comes down to personal taste anyways. And, mmh-mmh, does Fallons voice taste fine ;-)
