Beware of using marble chips instead of mulch. The stone heats up in sunlight and reflects too much heat for many plants. this is great for more northern regions, but can be a garden killer in the south. Cedar bark mulch repels many insects and breaks down into natural fertilizer. Make sure you use natural, untreated mulch.
